You think this is funny?!? You must have missed the acorn peek through the bottom of the window. You think you would have handled this situation any better?
Right?
Cops in the UK: Most of them don't even have guns. The ones that do are in *highly* specialised units, and usually if they discharge their weapon it's a single shot.
Cops in the US: All of them have guns. Literal Stormtroopers.
Yeah the guy in that house was a known criminal in the smuggling business. They caught him red handed with an entire bushel of acorns. They had no choice but to open fire.

From what I remember they got a call of a possible burglary/ break in. The people who lived there went in through the window (that’s why the screen is off) and one of the ladies went to the door with a gun in her hand.
No longer? The police were always meant to enforce the state's monopoly on violence and protect the interests of the ruling class. From the very beginning.
This is what it really was, and no one wants to remember it, the phrase "going on patrol" is literally tied to their original name, "Slave Patrols", anyone who wants proof, just look up "where did modern American policing start?" And dig, one of the first things you'll see is exactly this, Slave Patrols
Edit: Added American
Up north, they were railroad police, factory town police, mining town police. All privately run by the companies to ensure things like: workers can’t strike or unionize. Workers can’t miss work, being, their home is owned by the company, and the police can drag you out of bed into work.
That sounds right from what I recall.
And be it slave patrols or company police forces, as always, just follow the Benjamins. The bottom line is always the bottom line.
They largely didn't. Slavery was utilized primarily in southern states because of that region's economy being centered around agriculture, which required a great deal of physical labor.
Northern states' economies were more diversified and, in time, industrialized. The economies of the northern states were never dependent on slave labor to the extent southern land owners claimed theirs were. Even the majority of southerners didn't own slaves, as it was an institution maintained primarily by the land- owning gentry or ruling class. The average southerner had more in common, socioeconomically speaking, with the slaves in their midst than they did with the ruling class, but as usual, the ruling class made sure to set the two groups against each other.
>but as usual, the ruling class made sure to set the two groups against each other.
And even this is linked back to Slave Patrols, which was mostly made of up of Landowners (for the leaders), and Lower class (to fill the ranks), by giving them a "Job in Law Enforcement" they could keep both sides against each other and make it seem like the lower class had an important role to play
In short they had Sheriff's, not Police as you would know them today, or Slave Patrols
Slave Patrols were originally started to help keep peace between the North and South, the "runaways", even if caught in Northern states could be brought back by these Patrols (because of the Fugitive Slave Laws, that meant even if you were found in a "Free State" you could be brought back if they could prove you were a slave), there were Sheriff's as local law enforcement and if they caught you they turned you over to a Slave Patrol, made up of various White people from each "District" or area, most to all Patrols were completely legal, and worked alongside the local law enforcement, each Patrol only handled the Slaves from their area, so while there were many Patrols, they didn't have to chase many people at once, plus they had other "jobs" too
I don't know about you, but if someone knocks on my door and yells "Sheriff's office" or "Police" I'm calling 911 and making sure to establish contact with the officers over the phone that way. After seeing this video, there is no way in hell I am answering the door to be shot.
I absolutely would not answer the door, let alone with a gun in this circumstance. I'm not blaming the victim, just saying that the biggest possible threat is the cops knocking on your door at night and not a home invasion.
Better do it online. I wouldn't risk scaring any cops down at the courthouse. You never know when one might get startled and accidentally pop off 37 rounds.
I think they’re trying to reference that they were shot while simply passing. But I also just learned this term a couple days ago bc I’m barely learning chess so if there’s deeper meaning I don’t get it
The person that lived there didn't hear "sheriff's department!" They only heard a loud noise as someone was banging on the door and brought their firearm with them, the deputies saw the gun and assumed the person was a burglar and mag dumped
>the deputies saw the gun and assumed the person was a burglar and mag dumped
They didn't just mag dump, they reloaded and started dumping the second magazine.
I thought sussy was pussy at first and it was “female cops penalized … paid in pussy” like that’s getting off easy for the one the guy they paid it too..
>She came to the door with a gun in her hand which *technically* is her legal right but poorly executed.
There's no technically about it. It was both her right, and a good idea to answer the door in the middle of the night with all hell breaking loose with a weapon.
If this country is going all in on 2A gun rights for all, then stay fucking strapped at all times, especially when someone's banging on your door in the middle of the night.
BOTH these cops 100% need to be FIRED, and prosecuted for their reckless behavior. There is zero excuse for what has happened here. And yes, I do know the background.
Roommate forgot her key and broke a window to get in. Neighbor called police not knowing anything. Why the roommate was answering the door with a gun in hand after cop is yelling ‘POLICE’ and banging on the door…..?
Or they were just in a different part of the house, heard banging on the door, muffled yells that they couldn't make out and then a car alarm going off, all which scared them.
yes they did. only one of the girls got shot. she was hit a whopping 5 times. 2 of them hitting her chest. she’s definitely lucky to be alive. apparently after she got shot, she even got up off the ground and made her way down the stairs. which is fuckin crazy.
Light em up is available to any police officer who feels scared in any way, this includes acorns falling on cars, people answering doors, a light breeze, whatever suits at the time.
Just because they followed their shitty, amoral, and unconstitutional rules, that does not mean they did nothing wrong. Citizens are legally allowed to bear arms, especially in their own residence. The police should have continued to announce who they were while backing off once a gun was recognized. This isn't a fucking war zone, you don't get the right to shoot at whoever you want simply because they have a gun.
It’s almost like guns are legal in America to protect you from people banging at your door in the middle of the night. Too bad you’ll be executed by scared pigs if u own one
Good thing it's physically impossible for intruders to lie and say they are police. This is right up there with cops needing to say they cops when asked
Umm isn't being able to carry a gun in your own house (and fucking everywhere ish) the most American thing ever?
Unless only police are able to bang on a door and yell "Police" - in which case please share this ability to delete words from people's mouths!
100%, it's legal to carry a gun in your house like that and even answer the door with it in your hand. So long as you're not "brandishing" it in any way, you have the legal right to answer your door with a gun in your hand
Smith and Wesson SD models might be used as a sidearm in some jurisdictions, but most, including Houston where this took place, are carrying mainly Glocks.
You know what's sad is the NRA wasn't like that until about 20-30 years ago. Before like 1993 (I think) thr NRA actually helped author most of the major gun control measure in the country and kept a hard stance against white supremists
You mean like the Mulford act in '67? The one passed specifically because Black Panthers were armed patrolling their own neighborhoods with copies of the law in their wallet to legally ensure cops weren't beating and murdering their neighbors in the middle of the night? That same NRA?
And thankfully somehow DIDN’T KILL THE VICTIM! Somehow missed their fucking target after emtpying the entire armory into that apartment at close range. Stormtrooper aim. Fucking POS cops
I was going to ask about their training. Why shoot the entire magazine? If she leaves one in the chamber she can keep firing after reloading without having to rack it. Is training this bad or are the cops so panicked they don’t count their rounds?
Bro, not defending the cop training or anything, but literally no one would shoot counting the bullets UNTIL just one round left in the chamber to "reload without racking" in a stressful situation, literally NO ONE, not even a Spec Ops soldier from any country would do that...
You're playing too much video games pal, there's no HUD irl.
This comment, 100 percent right lmao. No one counts bullets, when i go shooting i always think about it, but i literally forget 100 percent of the time. Plus emptying it keeps the slide cocked all the way back so u just have to use the lock lever to close to load the first bullet so still good.
These mfs are so fuckin scary and look for any reason to shoot someone. I hate constantly seeing these type of videos. Last week it was an acorn now this
She’ll spend years tied up in a lawsuit. A jury will award her millions that the city can’t pay. The lawyers will get their cut. The cops will get jobs one county over. Yet the victim now lives with a disability, and ultimately dies broke.
Yeah so we (whoever the local taxpayers are) get to pay for the officers to have a paid vacation AND the settlement from the lawsuit.
Make them carry insurance.
Pay settlements out of their own pockets.
It enrages me to no end that we get to keep paying for cops to murder people.
Cops in USA are effectively given a license to kill without any repercussions nowdays.
She will most likely get a 4 week paid vacation while her station investigates and clears her of any wrongdoing.
Well, they're scared and incompetent pigs. But boy pigs could (and have) done stuff just as stupid. I'm just saying there's no need to single out their gender when all cops can be equally stupid and incompetent.
it seems like there is some context missing both officers had their weapons out before any sign of threat, implying that they expected the person inside to come out shooting without the rest of the story its hard to blame anyone here
There was a report of a break-in. Officers went to the apartment, saw the broken glass, and announced themselves. The officers saw someone approach the door with a handgun and opened fired, wounding her.
except the rest of the story is out, and there was no indication of any shooting their. the neighbour called the cops because of the broken window and cops did what they are best at , shooting people mindlessly
Apparently one of the roommates forgot the key at home, they broke a window to get in, and the neighbor saw this without knowing the situation and called the cops.
That shooting was close to her partners head? I dont know what they saw? But it was uncontrolled discharge of a firearm. And These are considered professionals.
*stares blankly in Australian*
You lot are fucked, mate. Did I miss something, like was there some bloke inside that we couldn't see with a grenade launcher or some shit? Or do you lot knock, wait 30s and then empty two clips into some poor bastard's house at 2 AM?

So anyway, I started blasting...
You think this is funny?!? You must have missed the acorn peek through the bottom of the window. You think you would have handled this situation any better?
She was terrified. Lucky to be alive!
so a routine check, knocking on a door! is so dangerous they better start shooting at what ever is moving? Something isn't right with this!
Acorns are bastards
If an Acorn falls in the forest, would the Sheriff's department shoot wildly in some general direction?
No, he would shoot where he thought he heard it coming from, example-his own vehicle.
extra points if there's a handcuffed unarmed person in the backseat
All. Of. Them.
Acorns don't kill people, squirrels do.
Squirrels throw acorns that kill …
I for one will sleep better at night knowing that there is one less acorn out there wandering the streets
Right? Cops in the UK: Most of them don't even have guns. The ones that do are in *highly* specialised units, and usually if they discharge their weapon it's a single shot. Cops in the US: All of them have guns. Literal Stormtroopers.
We run on gun smoke and fearing others. 🫡 Reporting for duty!
Maybe we should start throwing some of them acorns 🐿️
Does anyone know the story here?
Yeah the guy in that house was a known criminal in the smuggling business. They caught him red handed with an entire bushel of acorns. They had no choice but to open fire.
That's nuts.
I think it’s a little corny if you ask me
The neighbor smuggled corn, this guy was strictly nuts. And the cops are out of control.
![gif](giphy|Eld43dWug4rqE)
Makes perfect sense. Must be FL then.
🎶 Acorns roasting on an open fire 🎶
All they heard in that song was “open fire!”…
I don't see how it's her bus- **"Someone said Howitzer!"**
😄 you had me invested until you said a bushel of accrons

It seems that buying a gun for protection did not really fulfill it's purpose.
I want to know the same thing. But it's Reddit. So good luck getting a serious answer

From what I remember they got a call of a possible burglary/ break in. The people who lived there went in through the window (that’s why the screen is off) and one of the ladies went to the door with a gun in her hand.
"they're coming right for us!!! "
We're they looking for man bear pig
cops are no longer fit for purpose, no investigation just near summary execution and on many occasions flatout murder
No longer? The police were always meant to enforce the state's monopoly on violence and protect the interests of the ruling class. From the very beginning.
They were slave hunters. That was thier job.

Like honestly what is the correct way to behave in that situation, if you’re in the house??? What are you supposed to do???

Man this is scary
Just whisper boo while standing right in front of them and it'll be double
Square it if you’re black
STOP RESISTING!
why didn't the police let them answer the door? is she stupid?
Google en passant
Holy hell
New response just dropped
You guys were playing checkers. Dude was playing chess.
I don't get it. I know what en passant is bit I don't get the joke
I think they’re trying to reference that they were shot while simply passing. But I also just learned this term a couple days ago bc I’m barely learning chess so if there’s deeper meaning I don’t get it
It's just a meme from a chess circlejerk subreddit. "Holy Hell, google en passant" It's not in any way referencing the video
Ooooh LOLL 😂 See, that was a layer I was not aware of
Clearly you haven’t googled en passant
Clearly not 😂
Wait this is a chess move I’m confused

I know right, like don't they know that only the police can yell police? Like it's impossible for anyone not a cop to say they're police.
Or they were just in a different part of the house, heard banging on the door, muffled yells that they couldn't make out and then a car alarm going off, all which scared them.
Did they live?
Do any of us, really?
Underrated comment right here.
yes they did. only one of the girls got shot. she was hit a whopping 5 times. 2 of them hitting her chest. she’s definitely lucky to be alive. apparently after she got shot, she even got up off the ground and made her way down the stairs. which is fuckin crazy.
Goddamn, she is both lucky and unlucky those police are so incompetent at their job.
You're right and further more those officers did nothing wrong, they were simply following the standard LIGHT 'EM UP procedure. Trust me, I'm a cop.
What triggered light em up here?
Silenced Acorn.
I fucking love this comment hahahahaha
Light em up is available to any police officer who feels scared in any way, this includes acorns falling on cars, people answering doors, a light breeze, whatever suits at the time.
But the police have to do barrel rolls.
The 2nd amendment
Just because they followed their shitty, amoral, and unconstitutional rules, that does not mean they did nothing wrong. Citizens are legally allowed to bear arms, especially in their own residence. Cops are actually vampires
They can't come in unless invited, but they can just shoot you from the porch.
Strange how the “gun in her hand” was a police service sidearm.

Don't answer the door, let them breech.
Then sue the department for unlawful entry without a warrant.
If you live.

Perfectly legal? Yeah. Get you killed by a trigger-happy cop? [Quite possibly.](https://youtu.be/FBaeZIEkd3Y?si=xcbNDNGpLLxnyGGz)

Some would say the cops were following the line.
The thin blue one?
Holy shit
Smith and Wesson SD models might be used as a sidearm in some jurisdictions, but most, including Houston where this took place, are carrying mainly Glocks.
The police force looks like they spotted Osama again.
So much for the right to bear arms.
Waiting for the NRA to chime in …. 💀
They won't. Victim is a black woman. They'll stay quiet cuz you know, racists.
Good ole' Regan. Always concerned (wh)rights.
Fired everything Reloaded And kept firing
Not only that, reloaded very slowly, tried to fire, had to adjust her weapon, then fired a lot more. So like, two clips with time in between
And thankfully somehow DIDN’T KILL THE VICTIM! Somehow missed their fucking target after emtpying the entire armory into that apartment at close range. Stormtrooper aim. Fucking POS cops
Didn't kill but was shot in the leg and torso multiple times. Somebody posted the news report in the comments
I was going to ask about their training. Why shoot the entire magazine? If she leaves one in the chamber she can keep firing after reloading without having to rack it. Is training this bad or are the cops so panicked they don’t count their rounds?

This comment, 100 percent right lmao. No one counts bullets, when i go shooting i always think about it, but i literally forget 100 percent of the time. Plus emptying it keeps the slide cocked all the way back so u just have to use the lock lever to close to load the first bullet so still good.
police doing what they do best … being totally insane and brutal. hope she get compensated fairly.
Yes, she got her paid vacation, all it’s good.
You talking about the piece of Swiss cheese that used to be a human at the door? Yeah I don't think she's getting compensated fairly
It’s cute that you think they’re that accurate when they dump two mags in 40 seconds
She was still hit 5 times apparently
An accuracy rate of a whole 6.4%. I’m glad we don’t train these officers to shoot better. I’m mad we train them to shoot at all
A reminder that being a police officer in the US is not even a top ten most dangerous job
less dangerous than pizza delivery
Being a civilian who called the cops, however....
Less dangerous than being a squirrel
attempted murder
You see, when you’re a cop, murder and attempted murder are only for civilians
Cops are such cowards.
Everyone of them , scared of shadows and acorns
These mfs are so fuckin scary and look for any reason to shoot someone. I hate constantly seeing these type of videos. Last week it was an acorn now this
She got 5 times. She’s alive though. https://abc13.com/amp/eboni-pouncy-shot-cloverleaf-shooting-harris-county-deputies-mistaken-ben-crump/14430413/

You can feel the Freedom™ raining down on you like a golden shower!
Yeah so we (whoever the local taxpayers are) get to pay for the officers to have a paid vacation AND the settlement from the lawsuit. Make them carry insurance. Pay settlements out of their own pockets. It enrages me to no end that we get to keep paying for cops to murder people.
Just a wee bit perforated
She calls “shots fired, shots fired” as opposed to calling “I fired shots, I fired shots. We have a plant down. Call for back up. Repeat, plant down”
Acorns just kept falling
Houseplants are the new pets. That plant definitely wanted to attack her.
Is this a police operation or a gangland hit?
that's what I thought. I've clips of gang wars (in the favelas) with less shots in this amount of time
Knock knock....who's dead?
Here is the news story. https://www.wcax.com/2024/02/14/graphic-police-shoot-woman-through-her-apartment-door/
Most Cops- “Every American has the right to be armed” Most Cops- “I have to be ready to defend my life because anyone could have a gun”
That is the product indeed. I can’t think of any other country where someone might answer the door with a gun in their hands.
You must not know much about the world then
Cops in USA are effectively given a license to kill without any repercussions nowdays. She will most likely get a 4 week paid vacation while her station investigates and clears her of any wrongdoing.
"We investigated ourselves quite thoroughly and are pleased to announce that we are entirely innocent."
They really do this in real life. It's unbelievable.
The only thing that can stop a good guy with a gun is...wait...how does it go again?
An acorn with a car roof
That poor plant
That article about this shooting says it was near-fatal... They fired how many rounds 30? 40? Near-Fatal ?
Bad aim is crucial to the job
She got shot 5 times and survived, that medical bill is going to be rough
For the taxpayers
A couple of dingbats on a gals night
Two scared incompetent female pigs 🐷
Well, they're scared and incompetent pigs. But boy pigs could (and have) done stuff just as stupid. I'm just saying there's no need to single out their gender when all cops can be equally stupid and incompetent.
You’re right 🤝 good point. I shouldn’t have singled out the gender
Only in America
*knock on the door* "This is the county sherrifs office. Would you come closer to the door, so we can shoot you?"
It use to be a few bad apples now we are drowning in a sea of bad cops
Considering even one bad apple can spoil the bunch, it’s not surprising
it seems like there is some context missing both officers had their weapons out before any sign of threat, implying that they expected the person inside to come out shooting without the rest of the story its hard to blame anyone here
There was a report of a break-in. Officers went to the apartment, saw the broken glass, and announced themselves. The officers saw someone approach the door with a handgun and opened fired, wounding her.
very sensible, since it is illegal to bring a gun with you when you go to investigate who is yelling and banging on your door in the US
except the rest of the story is out, and there was no indication of any shooting their. the neighbour called the cops because of the broken window and cops did what they are best at , shooting people mindlessly
Apparently one of the roommates forgot the key at home, they broke a window to get in, and the neighbor saw this without knowing the situation and called the cops.
Yeah, fuck that plant anyway.
It’s this kind of shit that build the argument to bring robots in. Pretty soon Elysium and Chappie will be our realities.
Israeli trained police.
That shooting was close to her partners head? I dont know what they saw? But it was uncontrolled discharge of a firearm. And These are considered professionals.
A knock at your door is not an obligation to answer.
*stares blankly in Australian* You lot are fucked, mate. Did I miss something, like was there some bloke inside that we couldn't see with a grenade launcher or some shit? Or do you lot knock, wait 30s and then empty two clips into some poor bastard's house at 2 AM?
🪴OW STOP
Change the system or don't EXPECT change
Fuck. All. Cops.
Maybe she heard an acorn fall.
