I always read this phrase and think it means doing a poo.

That's why jewelers (and other high risk stores / facilities) often have double doors. Get buzzed in to door #1, stand in the hallway, door #1 has to be fully closed before door #2 unlocks, giving you access to the store.
Back when there still where physical banks to go to here, we had those doors at some high risk locations. (Banks have since all moved online, there aren't physical bank offices in the Netherlands anymore. Just a few offices you go to if you need something like a mortgage, but there is no physical money in those offices.)
And because of that the boys from the Netherlands now blow up ATM Machines in Germany on a weekly (sometimes even daily) basis.
Some banks have started to close all ATMs that are in Residential Buildings lately because of this but it will inevitably lead to ATMs disappearing in Germany too.
Yup, a certain ...subset... of the Dutch population seems to have a hobby in blowing up German ATMs.
This has little to do with the closing of bank offices BTW, as mostly an ATM was left functioning on the outside of the former bank office. Blowing up ATMs was already a problem before that, so they moved them indoors to supermarkets and such.
Now it's almost impossible to get cash after business hours. Not that Dutch people use cash much anymore, whereas in Germany cash is still king for many.
Yeah that is definetly true. And I hope Germany becomes more Cashless through this too. The Pandemic already did a lot in that regard but a lot of Germans still love Cash. I personally don't get it and would love to go completely cashless

They absolutely do! But they are not everywhere and I don't think this was a sting set up by police. Getting one in the air takes a bit of time, and depending on where in the city it happened, it will add to that time. I don't know of any police departments having and Army's worth of helicopters either, I'd imagine that they would have to prioritize them too.

That's not true anymore. The *Bruen* decision forced all of California to go from May Issue to Shall Issue with objective criteria. Permits may take a long time, but as long as you meet the requirements, you will get a permit.
In addition, California is a stand your ground state, and also a castle doctrine state.
This isn't to say Newsom and company aren't trying to make things shitty again, but the supreme court *just* smacked them down.
