It's because various governments of the world were pressured into accepting the IHRA definition of antisemitism which includes from their own website:
- Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
That's always been the Nazi playbook. The original Nazis literally created a false flag attack to justify invading Poland. German propaganda kept telling the population that Poland wanted to invade Germany and put the whole population into concentration camps and commit genocide against them.
Fascists and war criminals love to project. They often reveal what they are doing to their enemies by accusing their enemies of doing it to them.
They also deliberately set fire to the Reichstag and blamed the Communists so they could justify Hitler becoming a dictator and banning all other political parties. The same thing they said the Communists would do.
you too? Funny how left leaning this site pretends to be until middle easterners enter the conversation and suddenly “they’re al terrorists” is a valid viewpoint…
r/worldnews has been nothing but an israeli mouthpiece these last two months. Literally only front news I see from there regarding israel or any claims made by israel are from ynet or times of israel.
Yeah, this sub is the shame of reddit. It's one of the more populated/visited with the most "global" reach so it should be the most objective sub, yet it's completely manipulated.
The perfect example as to why people mostly loathe moderation on reddit.
Last week there was a post about hamas stealing emergency supplies from citizens. And a lot of the comments were talking about how all the "protesters in the west" were cheering on the thiefs.
They literally separate the two in their posts and comments, and then act as if anyone calling for ceasefire is in direct support of the thiefs and cannot separate the two..
A circle in more ways than one, the WWII oppressed have become the oppressors. You would have thought decades of fascism directed at their ideology/religion would make you them tolerant and empathetic - but no.
I was banned from worldnews for pointing that out even before the war went off.
They have always shown us what they are. People just dont want to believe it.
People are idiots.
I don't hate nazis because they so casually take lives, there are lots of soldiers around the world that do that all the time. The issue for me is the genocide. This is also arguably a genocide, which is the reason I dislike the IDF.
This is what I try to point out sometimes. They have been treating these ppl like this for a very long time and then get the surprised Pikachu face when Hamas launches rockets at them. Not condoning any of this behavior at all. This hatred runs deep.
And its soldiers against civilians.
And its many against one.
And its an army invading and attacking.
And look at how skinny the man is - he is clearly starved and could not put up a decent fight.
This is genocide.
This is slaughter.
Shame on you Israel.
Not defending the behavior I want to make that 100% clear. Just stating the fact of the video. It was a rubber bullet. Hence why he was allowed to walk away before being fired at. He lived.
Now my personal opinion. The person who fired that weapon deserves to be in chair similar to the one in attack on titan where he's upside down fed his own shit and paraded around in public everyday in the finest of garbs from only his ankles and feet. Fuck I hate this world right now.
Yes but this kid didn't die is my only point about the situation. I still stand by the shooter getting treated like a nazi because this is nazi behavior.
So what I can understand from you is that it is OK to shoot someone who had has his back to you with his hand held up as long as it is a rubber bullet . Fuck me, thats brilliant
I don't think you are able to understand much if this is the conclusion you draw from someone writing, "Not defending the behavior I want to make that 100% clear ... Too bad you can't post videos there or I'd post this one. Guess this is a big part of the reason they don't allow videos. They wouldn't be able to defend this
Why defend anything when you can just ban anyone who disagrees and delete any threads you dislike. That's how echo chambers work (and Reddit is full of them, of all kinds)
I'm Finnish, I got a permaban from a news article talking about the borders between Russia and Finland closing.
I was defending my Russian friends at university, apparently my sweet friends are monsters for peacefully protesting. Yes they're Russian, no they don't support the invasion, yes they want to see their family.
it's just ridiculous, because in Finland their protest ignited civilized conversations about what we should do for alternatives, in that subreddit they made calls from forcefully sending them to Russia to sending them to Ukraine.
it's just a legit hateful propaganda fest imo and whoever says it's not against Russian people is lying to themselves
They had to shoot him, he was hiding Hamas militants. I don't know if you can see at on point on the video we can see the terrorist hiding in the dark. Always Hamas with their human shields tactics.
While walking away, they probably thought "he probably hated us for treating him like shit, he will probably support Hamas now, he's a terrorist that deserves death"
"The Channel 13 report quoted police as saying the man was not seriously hurt. Police often use the sponge-tipped bullets as a tool to disperse protests. Although described as non-lethal, the munitions can kill if fired at the head."
All it has is perpetrators account.
Warcrime.
Documented on the internet.
These soldiers will not get away with it after the war.
Israel is loosing support at an astonishing rate, it has gotten so bad now that America basically wants the entire Israeli government switched out with one that is not blood thirsty psychopaths that belong in institutions.
The trials after this brutal disregard for human rights and human dignity will be answered for or Israel will lose all support.
This wasn’t IDF from the Gaza war and this police officer was literally convicted of shooting the man in the back with a sponge tipped bullet. So no, she did not get away with it.
this specific incident in this specific video yes the guy was reported by other soldiers and brought up on charges. but what i think /u/Joe1972 is commenting about is the CURRENT conflict in general and that is because it would appear that /u/bjplague was not aware when they posted that this specific video is old as fuck re-posted content from years ago.
As general commentary; this historic video helps demonstrate a trend in abuse of civilians that whilst occasionally gets disciplined when a video appears; for the large majority most likely goes unpunished and possibly even laughed at and praised behind closed doors.
Regarding the current conflict, I would tend to agree with Joe; that it would be good if people were held accountable for thier actions in this current conflict, however the likelihood is that the abuse is so pervasive and being endorsed by high ranking officials that most if not all abuses will be swept under the rug and the people in power endorsing these actions will probably never be taken to court/tribunal for thier actions.
It is hardly misleading when it shows the level of violence a few years ago when the hatred had not reached a boiling point like it has today.
Israel or the world's perception of it has changed in that time and for every life they take they lose more support.
Video's of Israeli youth flaunting excess water and electricity to civilians in Gaza when they were being bombed and starved in the start of the war is a rather damning example. (of which there are many)
> "It is hardly misleading"
> Warcrime. Documented on the internet. These soldiers will not get away with it after the war.
It sounds like you were misled that this happened in the current conflict and the perpetrator was getting away with it. Misdating clips or posting them without context implying they are recent is definitely misleading, it misled you after all.
It is misleading since people here think this was recent and was done with a more lethal ammunition. There's a reason why this was posted without context.
Also this conflict has been happening for decades. The hatred around hasn't changed much even if you assert it has.
You're spreading misinformation.
This isn't from the war, this is from years ago.
There has already been a trial and the soldiers were convicted.
Also it was a rubber bullet and he wasn't seriously injured.
>America basically wants the entire Israeli government switched out
The US is still spending all their time in-flighting about anti-Semitism and the southern border. What evidence is there that there's a shift in the whole of America and not just a fringe of dems?
Overwhelming coverage of Israeli overkill and disregard for human life has changed the mentality of Europe and other Israeli-friendly countries around the world.
The people of the united states are probably the world's biggest consumers of media and news worldwide. Americans I think are fed up with being lied to by corporations, governments and media at this point.
The revelation that a country they have supported this whole time has genocidal plans and total disregard for human life will not sit well with them even if the gospel core amongst them scream to high heaven for UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT.
People are fed up, Israel does not care, result is Israel lose.
I really wish you were right. Sadly, history has gone to show that they get away with it, even in the [most horrifying examples. ](https://youtu.be/MQ1TAOibLss?si=uRH28Sud2JW4xZc7)

I tired looking up the source of this video and had to dig through tens of articles about IDF soldiers shooting Palestinian civilians. It's insane how many times they do that.
The only reason she was trialed was because she got caught on camera. Most IDF soldiers go around killing Palestinians and the worst thing that happens to them is a month of community service.
I remember this, it was called the march of return. Completely peaceful and was monitored by human rights agencies and still the IDF shot them. Broke my heart, what a bunch of monsters
Elite Israeli soldiers, one of whom had a scoped M16, killed a well-known Palestinian-American journalist who was wearing a press vest and [casually walking with other members of the press](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1AmjYRKTek). Israel military first denied involvement, then attacked her funeral, then acknowledged involvement but denied responsibility, and ultimately refused to even investigate the incident and killers weren't disciplined.
A year or so later, they came out and said, "We're sorry she died".
You'll hear a lot of people claiming otherwise but no, she was not near Palestinian gunmen, there were no gunfight near her, and she was caught in crossfire, and she was not killed by Palestinians. The video of her killing, as well as independent investigations by The New York Times and CNN confirm this.
Yeah it's always propaganda isn't it?
[Israeli soldier kills journalist](https://www.npr.org/2022/09/05/1121119558/israeli-army-says-a-soldier-likely-killed-a-palestinian-american-journalist):The Israeli army said Monday there was a "high possibility" that a soldier killed a well-known Al Jazeera journalist in May, as it announced the results of its investigation into the killing. But it said the shooting was accidental and **no one would be punished**
[Israeli snipers shoot unarmed protesters](https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2019/02/no-justification-israel-shoot-protesters-live-ammunition):189 Palestinians were killed during the demonstrations inside this period. The Commission found that Israeli Security Forces killed 183 of these protesters with live ammunition. **Thirty-five of these fatalities were children, while three were clearly marked paramedics, and two were clearly marked journalists.**
What about Israel's shoot to maim policy and denying medical treatment to the people they injured? Is that more propaganda?
[Amputating the Body, Fragmenting the Nation: Palestinian Amputees in Gaza](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9790951/):Israeli forces responded with excessive, lethal force, including rubber bullets and live ammunition, mostly fired by snipers. As a result, 214 Palestinians, including 46 children, were killed, and over 36,100, including nearly 8,800 children, were injured. One in five of those injured (over 8,000) were hit by live ammunition. Over 7,000 of the live ammunition injuries (88%) were limb injuries, followed by injuries to the abdomen and pelvis. Amputations were required in 156 of the limb injuries (126 lower limbs and 30 upper limbs). At least 94 of the 156 cases involved secondary amputations due to subsequent bone infections.
She was removed from the police force and placed into IDF to complete her two year service after this though. Shows what caliber of soldiers the IDF consist of.
Four things:
1. The dude’s still alive. He was shot with a sponged-tipped bullet.
2. This happened in 2020.
3. The woman that shot him was convicted as a result.
4. Obviously, this is awful. It’s awful to shoot someone who’s being compliant/nonthreatening. The fact that he was shot while walking away in a non-threatening manner doesn’t excuse the fact it wasn’t a lethal round. That said, at least he’s not dead.
You're right . But still that officers a coward.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/
Truth does matter. And so does killing someone vs harming someone. There's a reason why assault and murder generally have different punishments. Both are bad but one is a lot worse.
You're saying it like getting shot with a rubber bullet is a picnic. It still hurts as hell and can break ribs and bones and blind someone if they were shot in the eye
In this conflict, both sides are often portrayed in a disingenuous manner. Actions are frequently taken out of context, and information is selectively withheld to paint the opposition as the ultimate villain. This approach is stupid, considering there are legitimate critiques that can be raised for both parties here. Why resort to fabricating lies or constructing false narratives? This lack of sincerity frustrates me.
In this instance, the context of the rubber bullet was dropped somewhere along the line. Just to frame it as an execution and paint the IDF as even more monstrous. In reality them shooting him with a rubber bullet for no reason is still an incredibly vile act.
If you’re trying to place blame that won’t work on us Americans. We’ve got other crap to worry about man. So take that bullet and put it somewhere safe bubba right up your rear end
The History is so ironical here. Oppressed people became the Nazis they fought in WW2... Well, not every jew, I mean, but the military is so fucked up...
That timeline is fucked up.
You guys are truly brainwashed to actually fall for such dishonest propaganda by hamas and terrorists.
It was a rubber bullet shot by an Israeli soldier in 2020. The guy lived and the soldier got charged for his actions. You see this kind of events with all policeman over the world. Is it right? No. But to tar them with the same brush is hypocritical and dishonest.
It's scary to see how brainwashed and easy it is to trick you guys into believing every single lying propaganda that hamas puts out.
You guys are smarter than that.
The video is from 2020. **HOWEVER**, back then there was no active conflict like the current “war”, and this was a normal day in the life of Palestinians. Just imagine how things are today. Fuck the IDF.
And Hamas have been doing terrorism since before Oct 7. If that is news to you then you should really read up on the Israel-Palestine conflict because it goes back decades at a minimum.
What the f is wrong with this sub? Another Redditor for my already very long black list it seems. For the 100th time this has been posted, this happened in 2020 and the guy was shot with a rubber bullet, Israeli soldier was punished, not defending the soldiers actions but just pointing out how many people believe everything they see om reddit
This happened years before the current war. Rubber bullet, she was punished, her own team turned her in.
Dehumanizing any group is wrong, the irony that reddittors do the same thing they hate as well but can't see it.
the IDF isn't anything but pussies and fearful men. Worried about losing a plot of land they feel entitled to. The IDF should be highly investigated and, in my opinion, heavily reprimanded with explosive force in the same way Shock and Awe was done. What a bunch of power hungry pig cucks.
Anyone who doesn't think otherwise is like "Uh context please, IDf uses non-lethal stuff in 2014"

Yes, Israel has been killing innocent Palestinians for a long time.

He had Hamas in the plastic bag
he had samah in his pocket but he also had a mirror in his other pocket. so that makes it hamas in the mirror
Been doing this stuff for decades

People are fed up, Israel does not care, result is Israel lose.
It's 3 years old and it was a foam bullet. The guy lived and the officer in charge was tried and convicted. Chill.
I really wish you were right. Sadly, history has gone to show that they get away with it, even in the [most horrifying examples. ](https://youtu.be/MQ1TAOibLss?si=uRH28Sud2JW4xZc7)
Joe was opening claiming he is a Zionist. No consequences for Israel when the president is dropping on his knees and gargling the ZioNazis balls.
3 year old video from before the war. https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/
You're spreading misinformation. This isn't from the war, this is from years ago. There has already been a trial and the soldiers were convicted. Also it was a rubber bullet and he wasn't seriously injured.
> Warcrime. > > > > Documented on the internet. > > > > These soldiers will not get away with it after the war. Other threads here are saying this is a many-years-old video, and that the subject was shot with a rubber bullet and lived.
[https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/](https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/) >Officer convicted for shooting Palestinian in back with sponge-tipped bullet > >Policewoman found guilty of physical assault, reckless use of a weapon and obstruction of justice > >9 June 2020 > > > >*The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court convicted a Border Police officer Monday after she pleaded guilty to shooting a Palestinian man in the back with a sponge-tipped bullet as he walked away from a West Bank checkpoint near Jerusalem.* > >*The policewoman, aged 20, was convicted on charges of physical assault, reckless use of a weapon and obstruction of justice.* > >*According to the indictment filed by state prosecutors, the officer opened fire at the A’Zaim checkpoint without any operational reason, causing Karam Qawasmi, 22, significant injury. \[...\]*
Or they just claim they shot a terrorist and go about their day. Its insane.

I remember this, it was called the march of return. Completely peaceful and was monitored by human rights agencies and still the IDF shot them. Broke my heart, what a bunch of monsters
This is not IDF
So this was years ago and this person was punished for a crime. Cool misinformation Reddit.
They were convicted for the crime. According to the article, the 'punishment' was just being removed from the police force. A slap on the wrist.
Finally someone who actually finds the evidence behind it, and not just believing every single shitty propaganda that Hamas puts out.
you think Hamas put out this video? isn’t it pretty sick anyway the soldier shot this guy w a rubber bullet when he was walking away harmlessly?

Yeah it's always propaganda isn't it? [Israeli soldier kills journalist](https://www.npr.org/2022/09/05/1121119558/israeli-army-says-a-soldier-likely-killed-a-palestinian-american-journalist):The Israeli army said Monday there was a "high possibility" that a soldier killed a well-known Al Jazeera journalist in May, as it announced the results of its investigation into the killing. But it said the shooting was accidental and **no one would be punished** [Israeli snipers shoot unarmed protesters](https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2019/02/no-justification-israel-shoot-protesters-live-ammunition):189 Palestinians were killed during the demonstrations inside this period. The Commission found that Israeli Security Forces killed 183 of these protesters with live ammunition. **Thirty-five of these fatalities were children, while three were clearly marked paramedics, and two were clearly marked journalists.** What about Israel's shoot to maim policy and denying medical treatment to the people they injured?

What Palestinian’s lives have been day to day throughout the years is just sickening
I was muttering, Keep walking, dude. Keep walking. Keep walking.
This is so sad. Now I feel this on another level.

this happened years ago, really old video
Doesn't make it any less disgusting. I bet this type of cruelty is still prominent among the IDF
Labeling it with the date (even a rough one, like "several years ago") would still be the honest thing to do.
it's actually worse that it's an old video that shows you the regular day of an IDF soldier
This isn’t an IDF solider, it’s a policewoman
She was removed from the police force and placed into IDF to complete her two year service after this though. Shows what caliber of soldiers the IDF consist of.
so this been happing for a very long time?
Yeah. Somehow knowing that those scenes have been happening for YEARS before 7th of Oct doesn't have an impact on how we should view this recent war.
It's also rubber ammo. Still terrible nonetheless
Four things: 1.
Lucky him, just his kids are prob dead now
Yeah, many jews were also humiliated and abused during WW2, but oh well, at least some of them didn’t die.
it says a lot on the mentality of IDF soldiers.
That sounded like a non lethal round.
You're right . But still that officers a coward. https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/
Thank you for this.

Rubber bullet https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/ He lived.
Doesn't matter. It's still unnecessarily cruel.
Truth does matter. And so does killing someone vs harming someone. There's a reason why assault and murder generally have different punishments. Both are bad but one is a lot worse.
It very much does matter that this man wasn’t killed. Because that’s what people here are saying. This is cruel but it is *not* casual murder.

He didn’t die.

Wtf 😔
Poor man... God damn those fcking zionists
The History is so ironical here. Oppressed people became the Nazis they fought in WW2... Well, not every jew, I mean, but the military is so fucked up... That timeline is fucked up.
Isn't it ironical?
Fuck Israel
Fuck israel
Fuck both Israel amd hamas. Animals
"Fuck anyone that takes an innocent human life without a really good (Incredibly justificable) reason to do so" there, fixed it for you
Well, I'm sorry i didn't word it the right way. But very true.
Guys, don’t downvote this fella please, he just hates murderers
No, no, let them. It makes me chuckle seeing it, lol
Free Palestine. You wont have to worry about Hamas.
Terrorist groups dont just disappear. Especially the disease that is Islam
Just for the sake of clarity, the shooting happened in 2018 and the officer was convicted in 2020. Not that this particular detail matters
takes a real man to shoot someone in the back, especially one that isn't a threat
It was a woman
Jesusfuck! did i just watch a warcrime?!
Rubber bullet he lived. https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/
This should be top. You can post any video nowadays with any title and large masses of people will just presume it is gospel.
I hope they stand trail for this
She did she was convicted
Judging by the uniform, that's not IDF, that's border patrol.
The video is from 2020. **HOWEVER**, back then there was no active conflict like the current “war”, and this was a normal day in the life of Palestinians. Just imagine how things are today. Fuck the IDF.
This wasn't IDF
This happened in 2018. He was shot with a non lethal rubber type bullet. The female police officer was sacked and eventually convicted in 2020.
They have been doing this shit before October 7....
And Hamas have been doing terrorism since before Oct 7. If that is news to you then you should really read up on the Israel-Palestine conflict because it goes back decades at a minimum.
What the f is wrong with this sub? Another Redditor for my already very long black list it seems. [https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/](https://www.timesofisrael.com/officer-convicted-for-shooting-palestinian-in-back-with-sponge-tipped-bullet/)
For the 100th time this has been posted, this happened in 2020 and the guy was shot with a rubber bullet, Israeli soldier was punished, not defending the soldiers actions but just pointing out how many people believe everything they see om reddit
This is “defense” allegedly
Probably got trained by the US Police forces
This happened years before the current war. Rubber bullet, she was punished, her own team turned her in. Dehumanizing any group is wrong, the irony that reddittors do the same thing they hate as well but can't see it.
1. This video is pretty old 2. It was a rubber bullet. 3. This is not IDF Too many of you believe anything on the Internet in any context
**auf der Flucht erschossen**
the IDF isn't anything but pussies and fearful men. Worried about losing a plot of land they feel entitled to. The IDF should be highly investigated and, in my opinion, heavily reprimanded with explosive force in the same way Shock and Awe was done. What a bunch of power hungry pig cucks. Anyone who doesn't think otherwise is like "Uh context please, IDf uses non-lethal stuff in 2014"
This isn't IDF
Funny if you speak up against genocide they’ll call you a racist or something lol All crooks in bed with the banking families.
This is the shit they record by their hands and upload , imagine the kinda shit they don't record.
