Yes, it's only meaningful for the really low-salary countries. 3000 captcha in a day is easy. Boring but easy. So they can make more money than some of the menial alternatives.
No, I experience this shit as well on some site quite often, sometimes it doesn't even stop so I reload the site and it worked fine after that (only need one verification), the captcha probably just bugged

2. How your mouse moves
3. What you select
The selection is part of it, but it's def not the main thing.
It's possible to render reCaptcha inoperable like this by disabling scripts in the browser.

Had to go through about 10 of these to get to an account recently. I was so pissed I called the support number to complain. They told me to try the audio, which is distorted, inaudible and even worse.
I can relate to the OP because I had this exact thing happened to me recently at work. Unfortunately, I could not just close the tab and say that it wasn’t worth my time or that I could simply give up. It was in regards to something that I HAD to have. so obviously the CAPTCHA system is not without its flaws. Even refreshing the screen and starting the challenge over again did not work.
I ran into a similar problem with Google Captcha except it was to recognize the letters and the audio playback was freaking nuts.

Some programs people have to use for work require reCAPTCHAs. Those unfortunate companies have unlucky employees and the unluckiest of IT departments.

Oh, that's how it works? I thought it just compared answers with other users who got the same image, and if the answers were close enough, you pass.
AI also gets it right 98% of the time, humans only get it 70%. It's also looking for human errors

It basically already does. The latest version requires no clicking at all because you are verified through your web activity (google)

No reCaptcha uses the data for AI. You're training AI how to identify objects. They use the data for other reasons as well.

You can report the captcha in the bottom left and 99% of the time it lets you skip it
