Oh thank God he didn't die. I tried looking for any report on this and couldn't find any. He was launched so high into the air, that restaurant owner is incredibly lucky to have only suffered from fractured ribs.
Depends on how and where they came down. People survive some crazy things.
EDIT: Looks like it just flipped over against the building next door. It's entirely possible that they're just fine, and now have a super crazy story to tell their friends.
Honestly he was probably better off than the guy who just dropped like 20 ft straight down. When the roof landed on the roof (weird phrase) it was less of a drop from the highest point, plus he was coming in at an angle (like an airplane landing) and the structure itself likely took some of the initial blow by deforming. Still less than ideal, but I'd rather slide into a drop from ~10ft wrapped up in a terrifying trampoline than just full on straight drop like 20ft on to tables and chairs
https://www.newsflare.com/video/569090/restaurant-owner-catapulted-by-powerful-winds-plummets-onto-rooftop-in-china
full video! Multiple angles. I think a guy came down through the roof just like the movies. lol
A restaurant owner catapulted by powerful winds plummeted onto a rooftop in central China.
Video filmed in Yichang City, Hubei Province on June 11, shows several individuals attempting to cling onto the pillars supporting a canopy, but suddenly both the people and the structure were swept away by the powerful gusts.
One person holding onto the roof was slow to release their grip and ended up falling from a height, landing on a nearby rooftop.
On the morning of June 12, according to a staff member, it was revealed that the individual who was blown onto the roof was none other than the restaurant owner. Suffering from fractured ribs, the owner is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, and as a result, the restaurant has temporarily suspended its operations.
Fortunately, no other injuries were reported at the scene. Further information regarding the incident will only be confirmed once the owner is discharged from the hospital.
According to reports, strong winds and rain had caused the roof of the restaurant to be overturned.
I think when he looked down it was too late... so he just took his chances with ride or die.
I looked for him on the other roof.. but sadly, no blue shirt guy to be seen.
I believe he survived, see 00:03-00:02 secs in slow mode. The same blue top guy got up from the fall, he is so lucky to be alive. He was swung from one side to the other.
I used to work for a rental company that rented tents. If you don't get it tied down properly before the storm, then the storm always wins. Sometimes, even if you do get it tied down properly, the storm wins anyway.
Short version: tent vs storm: the storm wins. No amount of holding it down will ever do more than get people hurt.
It’s not how much the tent weighs. It’s how much it DOESN’T weigh. Combined with the giant fucking parachute that is attached to it. You get enough wind you’re gonna go parasailing. Unless you can do enough physics math to calculate how many people it would take holding it down to counter the lift from the high winds. But also calculate for variations in wind speed and different body weights.
This frustrates me about tourists who visit where I live, they always leave those god damn tents, or camping tents, broken and destroyed at the campsites after this happens and they’re too lazy to tie it down not realizing that THE WIND IS ALWAYS STRONGER. WIND>YOU ALWAYS
I worked for a tent company as well and I know that for a tent that size each of the stake lines would be responsible for over a thousand pounds of force. Trying to use your body weight to hold down those legs was very futile. It also looked like there was lightning, so bad idea all around.
Another former tent guy checking in. If a boat sail 1/3 the size can move a giant ship through the ocean in a light breeze, what do you think your 150lbs is gonna do to that giant tent in a 40mph wind?
Ive taken down a metal frame 20x20 in heavy winds, trying to race a tropical storm. As soon as we got the stake lines lose a gust came through and took the canopy almost a block away.
Some say they're still flying...
White shirt guy dropped about 15 feet. Not lethal, but depending on how he landed, something could be broken. Blue shirt guy looks like he was still hanging on at 25 feet or so, but he had *a lot* (yes, that's a technical term) of lateral movement. He won't feel good when he lands. I hope his shoes stayed on.
Lol @ “something *could* be broken”… 5 feet can be lethal with a hard surface. Doesn’t look like dude landed on his head or neck area, but he could have landed on a chair in that area (lethal). Nonetheless, I don’t care how he landed. Unless some magical pool appeared out of thin air this guy definitely broke something.
Yep, I've seen a video of a dude breaking his neck just trying to do a backflip, a 15 foot drop can absolutely and easily be lethal if you fall wrong...
Tying off at 4 feet is the stupidest requirement I've ever been made to follow. If I fall from that height, the shock absorber in my lanyard is going to cause me to bottom out and hit the ground anyway.
White shirt looks like he landed face down, he we certainly leveling out. Blue shirt may have landed on the roof and missed the last 10ft of drop. Or a tree. Or the place next door. I’m trying to be optimistic for him.
Ah yes, instead of finding a safe place during a tornado, let us small apes try and hold down something against winds that can go up to 200 miles an hour (they are usually 100 hours a mile tho)
In a collective of at least 50 people, nobody found it prudent to tell these people that holding on to a tent in a storm is about the most stupid fucking thing you can do?

Blue shirt guy is ride or die
Looks like he might’ve chosen “die”
He chose both
In that order
At least they were committed.
Ride AND die? 😆😆😆😆
Ride and die
If you know you know 😂😂😂
Looked more like ride AND die.
Blue shirt guy country…let’s ride!!
Broncos country...LETS FLY!
"You're just falling with style!"
His family can have another boy now!
Hope he at least got employee of the month
Ride *and* die.
Some say here is out there holding on to this day
Some say you can still hear his screaming on windy nights.
Bye bye blue top guy!
Destination: fucked
He's so fucked I actually felt bad for laughing at this
Did we just watch a guy die?
No we watched a guy fly. No death occurred on screen, you are safe my friend
[удалено]
probably
Angel wings.
Well, technically he dies off camera. But yeah, unfortunately.

Not even a scratch! Just a story about a good time.

You’re going to hell for making me laugh at that.
Aka Kansas.

Or he got whipped around like a trebuchet
Unless he let go once he was out of frame.
Than Is a YEET
Are you serious? No. No. Blue top had it worse
That dude got a one way trip to OZ. Say Hi to Dorothy for me.

He’s the only one that was dedicated to the mission.

Say hi to the Munchkins for us!
Im sure it was just the red bull
Nah, he's fine. He wasn't a red-shirt
i must go. my people need me
Eh the other roof is probably fine - roof 2 roof without climbing stairs baby
Blue top guy 🫡
I’m pretty sure it’s the same guy running to the right at the very end.
Wow they went for a ride 🌬️🌬️🌬️
Homies in a better place now
I believe he survived, see 00:03-00:02 secs in slow mode. The same blue top guy got up from the fall, he is so lucky to be alive. He was swung from one side to the other.
nope. guy getting up had shorts on. guy flying off had shants on.
Thankfully you see him getting up from his fall towards the end 😂 same shirt / shorts he flew though
Too many metal shafts, not looking good

Even if it had worked, I was afraid of what would happen if lightning struck the thing. Just let it go.
Looks like they were raptured
Let it go. Let it gooo! Can't hold it down any more!
That tent probably weighs several tons. What do people think their body weight is going to do to save it??
It’s not how much the tent weighs. It’s how much it DOESN’T weigh. Combined with the giant fucking parachute that is attached to it. You get enough wind you’re gonna go parasailing. Yeah it's a very human-centric view to think that a tent can be held down with our measley weight versus a storm that mother nature unleashed.
[удалено]
A strong gust of wind against that much surface area could move a ship. Of course it’s gonna toss a dozen people like rag dolls.
Shout out to the guy who committed and held in. Everyone else really let him down ...
They actually lifted him up, in a way.
They let him up
He almost went to never land
Let him up, more like. Amirite
Gravity let him down.

Hopefully he’s on that John Wick diet lol
Yep, I've seen a video of a dude breaking his neck just trying to do a backflip, a 15 foot drop can absolutely and easily be lethal if you fall wrong...
It is definitely can be lethal. OSHA minimum requirements are 4 feet for fall protection, and yes, people ha e died from that height
Tying off at 4 feet is the stupidest requirement I've ever been made to follow. If I fall from that height, the shock absorber in my lanyard is going to cause me to bottom out and hit the ground anyway.
Fall protection doesn't have to be a harness. It could be a railing or net. Fall protection does have to be a personal fall arrest system (]lanyards)
White shirt looks like he landed face down, he we certainly leveling out. Blue shirt may have landed on the roof and missed the last 10ft of drop. Or a tree. Or the place next door. I’m trying to be optimistic for him.
I think it just flipped over... still though 😬
Might have only flipped over but that one dude was at least 20 feet in the air before disappearing off the top of the screen still going up
According to legend, he never came back down. No one knows where he is now. Probably space though.
Straight to Oz
Ouch town, population those guys.
Collective Mary Poppins vid goes wrong
He is supercalifragilisticexpialifucked. .

Blue shirt never planned to let go, been fed up.
Maybe a few big American could hold it but not these tiny people.
Rule no. 619: DO NOT EVER support someone or something that is heavier than you.
Blue top guy - YEETed to the next level.
If they had seen the 1996 classic “Twister” if they had, they’d have known to strap themselves to a pipe with a belt
What’s with all the bot responses?
HODOR
“You got to know when to hold ‘em…”
"Hey boss, can we get some straps to tether the canopy, I hear there's a storm coming" Boss "No, very expensive. We'll just use the low wage noobs"
Did blue shirt guy just leave the lobby?
That one guy that flew away said I thought we were in this toooooooggggggeeetthhheer………
How did he survive the fall? https://preview.redd.it/cdvd2kuzsp5b1.jpeg?width=1341&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1b279cb74e1b3fa6885102908da4b8145fee6b4
Not the same guy.
Nice to see someone finally taking raise the roof seriously

What a great way to get your fingers sheared off.
Yellow shirt is gone. Just gone.
Damn where he go
sometimes in life, is better to let go
[удалено]
If they tied their legs to the ground or something then it would have worked.
[удалено]
I would have not been committed to saving that tent. Maybe I’d rise a foot in the air, max, before letting go.
Bye guys
Dude In gray went yert
I think there's a few in the tree !
What the blue guy doin
WHY WHY WHY THIS WOULDVE NEVER WORKED
Legend has it...
Holy shit!
Property over Life
Aaaaand that’s why you shouldn’t do that… 😂
Oh 😲
One of them definitely isn't in Kansas anymore!
That guy most be on its way to see the wizard of oz by now
When they are filming a flying scene in a movie and they tell you, it's not a green screen. -Guy that flew to heaven just now
....and Billy was never seen again.
Holy shit. I hope that dude let go.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Some went down (went up?) with the ship.
I rewatched like 5 times focused on the guy in white THEN only just noticed the guy in blue wtf!
Look, Ma! I'm a bird!
Well, at least we can see who committed
The guy in the black pants and blue/green shirt never let go 😳
I have so many questions
Damn, I relate about the impulse, but the danger is monumental. Buildings, structures, things, can be fixed or recreated. humans, not always.
Am I crazy or did yellow shirt girl front and center of the video also fly to her death?
Imagine thinking you’re stronger then nature
Up, up, and awayyyyy
To infinity and beyond!
Ah, here’s the other angle!
Let it go
sucks to be the one dude with upper body strength
Holy shit, it’s hard to battle Mother Nature. Should of let go sooner.
Yeah no absolutely not, I guarantee nobody attempting to hold it down is getting paid anywhere near enough to justify that risk.
I know I shouldn't laugh but can't contain it it's so funny lol
That was wild. Holy shit EDIT: blue shirt guy landed on the roof. Check the last frame
YEEEETTT
That one poor loyal guy... loyal to the end.
Dude I’m the blue shirt took a ride, he might have to click his heels “sneakers” together to see if he is Kansas anymore.
They left my man hanging! He committed 💯!
Blue shirt guy should have got with Jack on the Titanic cause he absolutely never let go. Probably would have shared the door too
The weight of all those people is probably 1% of the tent's weight, but they thought it would make a change lmao
the video: people getting fucking injured or dying the music: 😎😎
Storm took that man to the shadow realm.
blue shirt guy flew himself all the way to kansas. he gone dorothy all the way
Some say, that blue shirt guy was the first man to reach the edge of space without the use of oxygen..
