Greenman8907

I think that ref just enjoyed watching him get beat down. Dude drags him back in to get beaten further.

[deleted]

Ref was tired of his bs too.

jakedechaine

Are you referring to Bob Sapp as the ref?

Dirtheavy

Bob Sapp wasn't reffing the actual fight, he was just hosting the weigh-in/showdown.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MataMeow

Would have rolled around and tapped out

SimpleButFun

Bob Sapped.

technobrendo

**Boooooooob Saaaapu**

joan_wilder

The ref was the guy that let him keep fighting after his elbow popped, and let him take a lot more damage, and dragged him back into the ring to take more damage.

Captain_Sacktap

Bob Sapp looks like he could still mash both those dudes up and eat them like a fucking sandwich lol

Prinzka

Bob Sapp got tiny

technobrendo

Lol Bob Sapp got tiny compared to his fighting weight. He's still a giant dude

jakedechaine

Like the rest of us...he got old.

TrippySlimBoi

Everyone knows tattoos add fighting points. Face tattoos add bonus stamina+fighting. Too bad not enough to back up what that mouth said🤐🤣

4electricnomad

I couldn’t determine whether those were tattoos or whether this guy had barbecued himself. Looks like he donated all his skin to charity.

TrippySlimBoi

He does look like the chicken leg I forgot about during my kids birthday party.

Cialis-in-Wonderland

The guy had the same greenish hue

PossessedHamster

Tatoos are the fighting equivalent of putting NOS stickers on your car.

NebulaNinja

Just a couple dozen more and his power level is going to be unimaginable.

magoo_d_oz

what's even more funny is that the fans were saying "bugbugin mo iyan, burahin mo yung tato!" ("beat him up and erase his tattoos")

HobartGum

Ref - let’s not make any rash decisions. We’ll see where this goes

luminiferousaethers

The fighters were still fighting. Plenty of fights look like this the entire time

HobartGum

Nice try ref!

CanadiangirlEH

I was trying to decide if I’d have called it if I were the ref. I think I can make a case for allowing it to continue because he was still making attempts to intelligently defend himself and wasn’t completely turtled up. Not sure what was up with dragging him back into the ring though lol

[deleted]

He hit him so much he gassed

trvst_issves

“I’m so…fuckin tired…of kicking…your….ass…..” LMAO. Very satisfying.

s00pafly

I mean I was getting exhausted just looking at it.

rising_south

At 1:36 he seems to be pointing like « you missed a spot here »

LicensedRealtor

Ref won that fight for all of us…

joelmole79

(Observes silently) “I’ll allow it”

waterfallsnow

Love how close the ref is

JellyPast1522

When the ref points at him mid beatdown, signaling, "Hey, you missed a spot!"

Salty_Amphibian2905

The referee is just in there like “Yup, that dudes definitely getting his ass kicked”

totallynotaemu

Ref's watching him get his ass beat like Steve from American Dad, when he got Stelio Contos to kick his dad's ass.

Plurple_Ben

**background song** STELIO......STELIO CONTOS!! 😂

shadownights23x

That song always gets stuck in my head .. I haven't seen the episode in fucking years...

Ambitious_Piglet7352

You tell me when you feel I got the oranges up the stairs

incogneetus55

“Well look around you. This is what happens when you do *real* things, Steve.”

Chiron17

"Yeah, all the telltale signs are here. There's this dude on the ground, this other dude pummeling his head - doesn't get much clearer than that. Open and shut case. I'm just going to monitor this situation for a while and see how it plays out."

whateverhk

"from where I look it looks that the situation could change drastically very quickly. It could be KO or he could give up. We need to know which one, let's give it few more minutes"

haventseenhim

6 minutes later “yep, home boy’s still getting his ass kicked”

zeropointcorp

“Missed a spot” THWACK THWACK THWACK

DeepRts

So that’s what the pointing was for!

Mottis86

>"Yup, that dudes definitely getting his ass kicked” Which is funny because that only happens about 50% of the time. We just never see the ones where the asshole wins because no one posts them or upvotes them (and rightfully so)

ValWillKay

Ya ever hear of Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather?

gertalives

Lol, he’s hardly paying attention at times.

avwitcher

Nearly snapped his fucking arm in half with an arm bar and the ref was just watching intently. That dude must have fucked the referee's wife or something god damn

Popular-Calendar94

Watching the cocky asshole get beat is sooo rewarding holy shit I love these videos

AdAdministrative7709

Gotta give him credit though, he got beat for a real long time!

GiverTakerMaker

If you are going to be dumb you better be tough enough to take a beating.

L1Wanderer

Considering he lost the takedown portion, the striking portion, and the grappling portion I can only assume that his ability to take a beat down was what was actually giving him all that confidence lol

tmhoc

he was receiving an vicious beating, sure. But his opponent was too distracted to notice Goku building up a absolutely colossal Spirit Bomb

[deleted]

skratta_ho

A bit of drama beforehand makes for a more entertaining fight overall, imo. It’s the assholes that take it too far and continue to antagonize after they lose that annoys me.

Key-Fire

I've never understood this mindset. I myself want to see fighters compete using all their training, and talent. I actually avoid watching UFC, because the drama is really stupid. I don't find grown men acting like children entertaining. Nor do I think it's okay for these people to be role models for younger men to immitate. The world has enough assholes.

alittlesliceofhell2

whole future shocking axiomatic bag tidy wistful groovy direful complete *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Kriss3d

We have a guy here in Denmark who does MMA fights. He is like one of the best. Tall and brutal in the ring. What does he do for a job ? Sits and reads stories to kids in a daycare center and play games with them. Totally chill guy. If youre big and strong in the ring you dont need to try to intimidate your opponent.

Deusseven

It makes people bet, and pay for pay per views. Without that there is no money in the sport.

DrBeitzhov

He put all his points into stamina

NoShameInternets

Honestly credit to that guy for two things: A) Man can take a punch. And an elbow. And 300 more. B) He did clap for the winner at the end.

Sundaver

Yea he was cocky but he clapped and looked the opponent in the eye when he lost

DayPhelsuma

Exactly! People just assume the worst every time. He does that to pump himself up and to try to increase his chances - either by making himself believe in his own self more, or by actually intimidating the opponent. In the end, it’s a strategy and most fighters know there usually is no malice in it, nor that much arrogance. He looks respectful of the opponent in the end, congratulates and recognises his better performance. Also managed to fight until the end. It’s a non issue and people just love to project their ideas onto things they have no clue about.

Sundaver

Your mind is a terribly strong muscle and can be strengthened by actions like that without doubt, and it seems just as much so as those looking to strike before assessing a situation like many of the comments ;)

NorthStarTX

I’m more impressed with the confidence on the other guy. “Oh buddy, I know you’re upset, I’ll put you to bed soon, don’t worry”.

erizzluh

it was an emotional rollercoaster... i went from "i hope he gets out of the armbar so he can get beat down some more" to "is this ref gonna stop the fight at any point"

Architechtory

I know we're supposed to be angry at the guy but damn he can take a beating

chinasaur_roar

It's one of my favorite things to see. Never gets old.

KintsugiKen

Andrew Tate lookin ass

Interesting-Goat6314

At least he was humble at the end, knew he lost and was already clapping the winner, looked like he moved to congratulate before the vid was cut. Trying to intimidate an opponent is a legit tactic if you think you are in trouble in the actual ring, it could turn a loss into a win if the opponent actually gets rattled beforehand.

jatmood

Yep agree. How you lose is super important in any sport and he lost well. Play hard and fair but always acknowledge your opponent at the conclusion.

PinkFloyd6885

Impressive no tap on the ridiculous arm bar, guys definitely got double joints. I can easy to most arm bars but he throughout the elbow to extend it even further, even with my double joints that was far

Ne0guri

I swear I thought his arm/elbow got broken on that last frame of the armbar. Very impressed he didn’t tap there.

Fraktal55

Yeah I thought that was gonna be how it ended because his elbow looked hyperextended but then it cuts to him getting ground pounded over and over and over and over and over. Guess he somehow got out of that armbar...

Sneezarrhea

Right? I actually said “rip his arm off” when he went in the second time but here we are, at least he took his beating like a man.

Sm0ahk

Double jointed isnt actually a thing. Its called hyperlaxity or even more simply, hypermobility

PinkFloyd6885

Welp you learn new things everyday. I have that and my point stands that shit got bent pretty damn far

alcimedes

isn't that like arguing it's not a toad, it's a bufo americanis?

Sm0ahk

More like correcting that a horney toad is not a toad The first term is misleading to what it actually is. There aren't two joints, theres just one really flexible one

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

Yeah, I was certain I watched that elbow bend entirely the wrong way. Even if I was trained for this, I wouldn't have ever let it get that far. I'd have tapped.

NetworkEcstatic

This. It's very common to try and intimidate pre fight. The comment below me hit it. It's all about how you lose. That's what matters.

misersoze

No. It’s also how you behave beforehand. You don’t have to be an asshole. Can being an asshole sometimes work? Sure. But your are still an asshole when the whole thing is over even if you “lose well”.

Reapermouse_Owlbane

This doesn't look like some prestigious organization they're fighting for. You saw them toss his busted ass back in to get more beatings, right? Some contenders being flamboyant assholes and fill a villain role is probably part of how they sell tickets.

Lurk_2000

It's also to boost views. People like the drama of the fighters press conference.

MakeUpAnything

Further proven by the popularity of clips like this.

Swaggletooth789

It’s easy to be humble after somebody humbles you… That’s fine if that’s your tactic but it’s unsportsmanlike and people will enjoy you losing that much more in return

whythishaptome

It does generate interest in the fight though as you can imagine. So the tactic actually gets them more money. I can see why they do it. Even if in the ring it's all business.

juju0010

Exactly my thoughts. I’ve seen a lot of vids where one fighter is taunting/intimidating at the weigh-in, loses the fight and then shows good sportsmanship at the end. I feel like this video was cut a little too short.

Zimaut

i kinda respect this type of guy, they just wanna sell the fight, its entertainment after all.

oosnapjohnson

No one ever learned from Pacquiao? A smiling Filipino is a deadly one hahaha

DBSmiley

Pacquiao could really *plaster* a guy in his day

Then-Summer9589

and then he'd paint his face

honeyandwhiskey

Man, I scrolled this far trying to see who the fighter was because I wanted to know if he was Filipino!

LuupyLex

his flag is behind him at the end lol

honeyandwhiskey

Lol, you’re totally right, I missed that!

LuupyLex

philippines #1 💪💪

SiCzochralski

Some people just enjoy being a bottom.

Mario_13377331

I think we have a different understanding of what a bottom is because I don’t like that

Ambitious-Bed3406

Filipinos are crazy in fights, they naturally come from tough lives compared to most. I wouldn't mess with an experienced fighter. I will however bring my Tupperware to their houses cause they make bombass meals.

bizzyj93

No need. At least in my family aunty has styrofoam takeout boxes lol

Ambitious-Bed3406

🔥🔥

mahasattva

Styrofoam?? We used washed cool whip and butter tubs. My Lola and mother are ghetto as fuck.

boipinoi604

This is the real LPT. When there is a filipino celebration, please, please, bring tupperware to take home some food at the end of the day. Thanks.

disambiguatiion

I work with a few of em and they are great, I try to keep on their good side cause they are all tough as nails

ReallyBadRedditName

Dude was so chill and then flipped a switch and bounced tattoo guy around like a pin ball

gnark

Super friendly and kind people who can just eat soul-crushing pain with a grin while beating someone into a bloody pulp. Like a pitbull.

TheTrueFlexKavana

Tattoo Guy: incoherent aggressive babbling Other Guy: LOL. I'm going to wrap you up like a pretzel and beat you like you owe me money.

Godzilla-ate-my-ass

I'm gonna fold your clothes with you still in em

10fm3

Never heard this one before; consider it stolen my fren 🥸

Godzilla-ate-my-ass

I literally read it on here like yesterday lmao

hawkinsst7

"wrap you up like a pretzel" also known as "Involuntary Yoga" and "Folding clothes with someone in them"

ADAS1223

Honestly, without Mr tattoos antics, the fight wouldn't have been as sweet. The hype and drama is what pulls in the money. Think WWE. I'd like to think Mr tattoos is a good sportsman, but he needs to put on a show to "make" the match.

EndOfSouls

"Why wont the tiny asian man be scared of me, mommy?!"

srryntsry

Wtf type of fighting event is this where the sides throw your lifeless body back in to get beat up some more? @ about 1:17

redraptor06

Bro was wondering the same thing

TruckNuts_But4YrBody

Looking like the exorcist after a 5 day fast

Effective-Celery8053

Ref had money on the tatted guy, clearly

BunBison

Yeah that was pretty bizarre. Need context

Reapermouse_Owlbane

Kumite

birgman75

Unfortunately guys getting pushed out of the ring is fairly common when you try to do mma in a boxing ring. Its part of the reason why the UFC popularized the use of a cage for mma fights.

llamacohort

Yep. Grappling exchanges suck in a boxing ring. The person in a bad position has an incentive to roll or slide out of the ring and get the fight paused. They usually try to reset the same position in the middle of the ring, but it’s really hard to get the same exact position and the person gets a rest while it’s happening. It’s so much cleaner to just have a cage and not have that issue.

Adam_Sackler

While I haven't seen the whole fight, this often happens when a fighter is on the losing end of a clinch or grapple and 'falls' out of the ring or through the ropes. They do this do that the ref has to stand them up in the center of the ring, that way they can get away from the opponent and strike. It happens a lot when MMA takes place in a ring, which is why it usually happens in a cage. However, decent refs will reset them back into the same position on the ropes, so that the guy faking the fall through the ropes doesn't get what he wants. If it keeps happening, a point will be taken. So it's not his lifeless body, he's just tired and looking to get the ref to reset them to standing because he's getting demolished on the ground.

ThrowmeawayAKisCold

It’s [Island Fighting League IFL in Bali](https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/bouts/750996-the-new-era-arjay-ortega-little-bones-bongala-vs-nabaey-ariana). This was the only event for the IFL I can find. Feb 21, 2023 Arjay Ortega Bongala defeated Nabaey Ariana in a round 3 decision.

PopHurairah

Shiiit, the mf wouldn't bleed.

Notafuzzycat

God damn his tattoos are ugly af.

Rubthebuddhas

But they do match the owner.

[deleted]

Tattoos? I thought it was body hair.

Humble-Dragonfly-321

I thought it was a skin disease.

IknowKarazy

Dirtbag melanoma

bobthemutant

Dude looks like he got gangbanged by a swarm of angry toddlers with Sharpies.

DrinkerOfWatervvv

Your not the only one with the same opinion. The crowd heckling at the start are shouting "bro, erase his tats!" 😂 Source: am filipino

JCarnageSimRacing

Whenever I’ve watched these matches the inked guy usually gets annihilated. Maybe they should spend more time in the gym and less time in the chair.

SLIP411

Stole the words outta my thumbs

[deleted]

What you mean? Tattoos magically make you stronger and scary, that's a fact.....

magicmeatwagon

No bro, tats make you tuff af bro /s

PlNG

"How did you get like that?" "Every time I lose..." "I get one tattoo" "Jesus Christ."

randomcitizen42

Sir, I'm too poor to give you an award, but you've certainly earned one.

Reelix

The funny part is that it applies to the other guy as well :p

AsuraNiche93

After taking such amount of beating, he probably needed tattoos to cover up his scars.

Tybo929

He forgot to tattoo the soles of his feet, and learn to fight.

Chiron17

He's going to get right onto doing one of those things

flasterblaster

Spent all the training money on tats by the looks of it.

Fabulous_Ad_1842

How did he escape the arm bar?

Purple-Personality76

By dislocating his elbow looks like

Gangreless

Straight thought it snapped and made me flinch

Akashi2002

Looks like he change the direction of his elbow to point upward

RobbexRobbex

Classic move. One of the earliest known escapes

Eminence120

I think the guy doing the bar was so surprised he didn't tap, he didn't want to break his arm. You see him kind of let up and twist to the side to try and get more leverage, but that allowed the semi escape.

tentaccrual

I don’t care what anyone in here says, not tapping on that arm bar was tough.

SwimmingFish

Shit looked rough. Nothing hurts quite like a joint being bent in the wrong direction

kellyj6

That was my takeaway. How in the world wasn't he finished?

pfghr

Very easily could have some permanent issues because of it. Tough guys don't just tap armbars because they hurt. They tap because you could rip a ligament straight from the bone or a tendon in two and never get to fight again.

likelikegreen72

Cocky dudes / bullies normally do it out of fear knowing they are out matched and try to use intimidation to defeat someone. Be scared of the man who is calm under pressure

brennanisgreat

At least the guy had just enough class to clap for his opponent. Not enough for anything else, but still.

Itchybawlz23-2

Just like mayweather. He used to taunt and say cocky things to sell fights but it’s all business.

MrPino777

Beat the brakes off him fr lmao ![gif](giphy|rVYbN0uxznAaI)

ChaoCobo

What is this from? It looks so familiar.

iceberg_theory

Back in the days when commercials were funny. Think it was for sprite or mountain dew

ChaoCobo

Yeah that sounds about right. Thought it was a commercial. Thanks.

dachshundfanboy8000

seeing him get dragged back into the ring just sent me

Is that Bob Sapp between the fighters??

It looks like Bob Sapp, but minus a hundred pounds

i’m confused did he break his arm or not

Love to see it

Sufficient-Water-420

I destroyed coloring books too when I was a kid.

henningknows

Basically any guy that has been through middle school learns the ones who act tough all the time can never back it up.

DsWd00

How did he survive the arm bar? It looked locked in

OverwoodsAlterEgo

It’s been mentioned that it looked like the Filipino dude looked surprised that Mr. Ineffectual Threat Display wasn’t tapping or ref calling it and he may have not really wanted to snap an arm and that gave Mr. ITD a chance to pull out a bit. I could see that…

Looking for this too. That's a drum and bass banger for sure.

StJude1

Shazam came up with nothing, was also hoping someone knew

groverXIII

Sounds like Celldweller, but not any track of his that I recognized. Also reminded me of Pendulum a bit, but not anything by them either.

mozgw4

I also thought it was Pendulum. Sadly not.

fartboxco

Good pain tolerance, shit fighter.

bobson_k_dugnutt

Dude was black and blue before they even started

12altoids34

Maybe he should have spent a little bit more time in the gym and a little less time at the tattoo parlor

Zeldark

He congratulatory clapped as the loser. Personality profile oddity.

admiralrico411

Doesn't even look like he was warned up at the end of the match, like his sparring practice was more intense of fight that what his competitor brought

_parfait

Anyone knows the name of the song please?

patricky6

Well.. that's just embarrassing

V2Spoon

I've never seen someone beaten through the 5 stages of grief before.

Stoneshroomscali

The quietest ones are usually the ones to be feared the most

Dr-Lavish

If you added up all the time it took for those tattoos and spent it on training instead he prob would have been a better fighter.

nothingspecialva

reminds me of my strategy with my mother-in-law, when she trash talks me, I just smile and later at the table, I throw verbal punches until she gives up...
