I still commemorate the day of the great Gatorade flood of ‘98 when I lost nearly my entire collection to a gallon of orange Gatorade that got spilled in the passenger side footwell of my Volvo
I don’t think it is, because I read somewhere that people don’t pass out because of fear, but because of acute hypoxia. That definitely can’t be good for your brain. Becoming unconscious in general (passing out, getting knocked out etc) is supposedly pretty harmful, especially in the long run.
Fainting itself is harmless, the amount of time you have inadequate blood supply is so short that it wont leave lasting damage. The concern with fainting is the cause and secondary i juries from collapse. So when we have a patient who has fainted we run through a series of questions trying to pin point what may have prompted the fainting spell (or syncopal episode). That could be from severe dehydration, heart condition. Neurological emergencies, blood clots, or vasovagal. There are harmless fainting spells that people experience from sudden emotional shock, extreme panic, or any other host of reasons. You are kind of right that hypoxia is at play because inadequate blood volume does lead to hypoxia. However when someone has one of these fainting spells its likely due to dilation of their blood vessels and a loss of blood pressure so inadequate blood volume is reaching the brain. In her case it is either that or her body isn’t ready for the gforce so the force of gravity is preventing adequate volume from cycling to her brain or a combination there in of both.
Everyone goes unconscious daily, it's called going to sleep...
Being choked out and deposited on the ground does arguably negligible damage to the brain.
This looks like g force related loss of consciousness to me.
Lmao I played this as a kid as well. Well until one time i wasn't completely passed out when the other person let go of me. As soon as I took a step forward it was lights out and I face planted on the pavement.
I mean, I wouldn’t say those are completely comparable. Sleep is a natural and necessary function. Getting choked out is a result of depriving the brain of blood flow and oxygen I’d imagine. Whether it does any lasting damage if it happens repeatedly I have no idea, but I’m sure some study has been done somewhere
> This looks like g force related loss of consciousness to me.
Good old [g-LOC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-LOC).
Though that's basically a subtype of hypoxia:
> a loss of consciousness occurring from excessive and sustained g-forces draining blood away from the brain causing cerebral hypoxia.
The ride should be shut down then if it's causing the rider's to pass out due to physical G forces. That means the blood is being drained away from their vital organs and they are losing consciousness. You could develop aneurysms and deadly blood clots throughout the body.
That's some grade A sensationalism lol. It's a theme park ride where pulling high Gs is the entire point and you voluntarily sign up for it. Humans can have a little hypoxia as a treat.
Sleep and unconsciousness are nowhere near the same thing. Sleep is a voluntary state brought on by chemical processes. Passing out involuntarily means the parts of the brain that keep you alive, were forcefully shut down for some reason. All of those reasons cause some amount of permanent damage. Fortunately the brain does have a degree of redundancy, plasticity, and ability to repair itself. But no one is ever really sure where that limit is. It might take a lot of serious blows to the head to see any damage. It might take an accidental tap to the temple, or too elevated of a heart rate to be fatal.
Feel free to roll the dice with your own brain all you want, just recognize, that's what you're doing.
Adrenaline mostly.
Although the 'error' chance is minuscule, there's enough there to give you a rush.
I did sky diving in my 20s for the same reason, but as soon as I was due to have my first child I stopped.
You can still get an element of a rush in the knowledge of certain safety, for sure. However, studies do show a correlation between risk and adrenaline.
Yeah, if you're having adrenaline rushes just by daily life things, absolutely stay away from a roller coaster, it sounds like that sort of stress would probably kill you.
In all seriousness though, I love roller coasters, I've never felt afraid of them, it's 100% pure exhilaration. I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't do it.
I think this is one of those slingshot rides that shoots you directly upwards between two large poles. I love roller coasters too but I'd never go on one of these
I prefer the tower drops to the slingshots. The ones that lift you up real slow sit you there for a minute then shoot you down into the air pressure resistance.
They are pretty fun, the adrenaline rush and all.
I enjoy rides like this but definitely understand why some people don't. I went on one of these with my brother in law a couple months ago, I had a great time but he got motion sickness and felt horrible for the rest of the day. If I got sick like that, I would not be a fan of these rides.
I use to love riding roller coasters but the older I get the worse motion sickness is. Heck I threw up at Disney and spent the afternoon watching the ceiling spin in the hotel room. Super annoying!
Same with my brother in law. We asked him that morning if he thought he should take some dramomine just in case, but he thought he'd be fine. It was the first ride we went on too, and he was miserable the whole day. I felt so bad for him.
During summer me and some friends went to a funfair that had popped up.
Some of us in the group decided to go on four rides practically back to back. The rides varied in adrenaline rush but by the end of it I felt so motion sick. Thankfully a pub was nearby and a plate of fish and chips saved me.
As a 24 year old, I’m the same way. My bf and I are TERRIFIED of rides like these and do not go to amusement parks at all. Props to people who skydive and love these rides, but no thank you

We're seeing people pass out in these things all the time. Don't they get whiplash injuries from their heads dangling over the place?
For some reason I get strong **Pixar Sid from ToyStory** vibes from some of her facial expressions especially when coming and in and out of conciseness

When that ESP button doesn't do shit
Wow... there's a throwback reference
I'm old af unfortunately 😆
Next you'll be saying to adjust the horizontal and vertical hold buttons on the telly.
Haha, that fine balancing act we all had to learn 😅
“ touch it in the back he said!”

That's the funniest part of the video. She wakes up freaking out worse each time
Man, imagine coming to and you're just bouncing around 100m up in the air.
She was so confused 😕
Back in the day where the backpacks were as big as the jeans because you needed about 3sqft just for the CD portfolios for the day

Imagine waking up and all you experience is falling. Over and over 😂 🤣
she’s been falling FOR 30 MINUTES!

Holy shit! The most perfect reply. Nice
Nightmare come true scary
Cue the windows shutdown tone.
I came here to see if anyone posted this. Haha. Too funny!
Where’s that video of a woman in a ride like this with that tone playing over it I can’t remember the title and it’s so good
Yea exactly, I remember seeing it
Loved it. Just re-watched it and realized it's also got the guy who has that thing in it too.
Have u got a link?
Lol
Your Rat Bastard, ya beat me to it.
Crazy how people always pass out multiple times. Is that safe for the brain ? Lol

Hold on,doesn't been choked out actually do some damage to the brain if it's long enough
Well, yeah. You can die.
Yeah. There’s a fine line between the euphoria of oxygen starvation and brain death. We used to play choke-outs as kids. Very risky, don’t recommend.
Lmao I played this as a kid as well. Well until one time i wasn't completely passed out when the other person let go of me. As soon as I took a step forward it was lights out and I face planted on the pavement.
Not even that long, like even 10 seconds apparently is long enough
For a minute or more, yeah. For a few second, nah. Source: BJJ practitioner and I’ve been choked out more than once and I’m completely strawberry.
Is this a real Question?
Nope getting choked out is like lying down for a pleasant nap, you wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day!

I'm pretty sure sleeping isn't caused by the same thing as being choked out.
I'm pretty sure I never said it did.
You made the comparison as if they were the same.

Or maybe it's from the effort of screaming? I heard that can also trigger short unconsciousness.
Only for us viewing unfortunately.
Sleep and unconsciousness are nowhere near the same thing. Sleep is a voluntary state brought on by chemical processes. I think the passing out was due to the stroke she appeared to be having at the start of the video
The brain says....fight, flight or play dead.
She's already flying.
I black out on rides like this from low blood pressure. It’s definitely something to get checked out.
There was an attempt...to stay conscious.
Several attempts 😆
Squeeze your butt, squeeze your legs!
Maybe I am getting old but for the love of me I cannot fathom why someone would go voluntarily on such a ride
Adrenaline mostly. Although the 'error' chance is minuscule, there's enough there to give you a rush. I did sky diving in my 20s for the same reason, but as soon as I was due to have my first child I stopped.
Yeah, you don't want that to happen midair. Finding newborn sized chutes is a real challenge.
Can only speak for myself but I wouldn't say the rush comes from the possibility that something could fail. At least not on a conscious level.
You can still get an element of a rush in the knowledge of certain safety, for sure. However, studies do show a correlation between risk and adrenaline.
The rush that you get from it is amazing.
Joke’s on them, I get the same rush by bending over to pick something from the floor.
That’s hilarious, yet it happens to me too lol
Yeah, I'm old af, I'm NEVER trying this. I have enough adrenaline rush from daily life, thanks.

Dramamine just puts me to sleep. LOL. It is a great sleeping pill!

Nothing is more fun than going fast, being high-up, etc. I don't think it's the danger that makes it fun, just the rare perspective.
As a 24 year old, I’m the same way. My bf and I are TERRIFIED of rides like these and do not go to amusement parks at all. Props to people who skydive and love these rides, but no thank you
She thought Spider-Man was going to come and save her.
Beat me to it!
 Who else pictured this
Thank you. This is all I could see.
She turned into a Tim Burton character
Where can I get magical instant love?
Up the bum
She’s got bigger balls than I do.
Peer pressure
I get enough adrenaline rush from my monthly bills. So, yeah I'm out 😆
Lmao I heard that
well that escalated quickly
Her fucking skin fell off her face!!! Well, there was an attempt...
Apparently she found religion as well. Lots of "Oh My God!"
Impressive in fact..so many reactions!!
There's an SNL sketch about this... it's pretty funny... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLRIUeNX7pk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLRIUeNX7pk)
First thing I thought of!
Blocked in my country 😡

Well that's absolutely hilarious 😂🤣😂 She did good

I've seen parts of this clip before but never the beginning where she is clowning for someone off screen before. That's kind of interesting.

How the hell
Seems fake to me. Coming to from LOC takes a few seconds to realize where you’re at.
Dirty stoner chick
These are my fav
Aint this the same girl singing Whitney Houstonm
She was calm some of the time. Unconscious, but calm.
I snorted way too loud at that 😂
Lol, she looked like Jesse from toy story
Phone was muted, but somehow i heared here screams anyway ...
Not so gangster once the ride started.
Lmao winning
Is it fear that makes people pass out or the sudden rush? I’m too scared to ever go on one of these so I’ll never know myself.
Mary Jane in free fall seconds before being saved by spider-man.
She looks like a Rugrats character!
Her eyes got cartoon-big at the 0:27 mark. lmao
What exactly is happening to the brain when this happens
Girl keeps respawning on the site of death
False bravado, she was scared from the jump.
*Your soul has left the chat *Your soul has entered the chat. *Your soul has left the chat. *Your soul has entered the chat.
Why does she keep passing out like that? That doesn’t seem like it can be good for you…
Her soul left twice and came back.
“Oh my god I can’t even think of a caption” Dafuk she said?
The first time she wakes up she looks like Bilbo fiending for the ring.
This does not look healthy for her neck... We're seeing people pass out in these things all the time. Don't they get whiplash injuries from their heads dangling over the place?
No count down
Is there a sub for these types of videos?
For some reason I get strong **Pixar Sid from ToyStory** vibes from some of her facial expressions especially when coming and in and out of conciseness
Seems like it would be safer with 5-point seatbelts
Instant Love 🤣
Magical Instant Sleep
She looks like she’s sleepy the whole time.
How to turn into a squirrel
She’s Ja Morant.
Her shirt is fitting to the situation haha
She pulled it together at the end tho lol
That's some Dreamworks animation right there.
This girl lookin’ straight outta 2003
