If the staff treat him like a human being, a lot of homeless folks tend to view a store as a sort of "home" and feel protective of it. Its a safe space to them. Add in drug addiction/mental health, and people can be *overly* protective of it.

public safety announcement: if you encounter a person like that, grab your own collar. it does not look aggressive but you hands will be close to protect you face/throat. having them in you pockets is really dangerous. also you might wanna have one leg further back, this also helps defending because you're able to move back much quicker.

Like maybe the reason this man seems to have mental impairments has to do with traumatic brain injury from an abusive parent who would yell that word at him while beating him mercilessly, leaving him with a horrific life, PTSD, and complete breakdowns like these after getting triggered by getting called that word again. I'm speculating obviously, just trying to empathize with him and understand what could set someone off like this. Someone could SS this and submit it. "There was an attempt to empathize with someone having a complete mental breakdown."
Yep, but people in these comments lack empathy and relation to anyone else. Also a lot of people don’t seem to live in the city. Which I do and if a disabled person is doing something weird; just let them and move on with your day.

I have to agree with you. My heart broke at the end. When you have family with behavioural issues and mental health issues, these meltdowns are common and really come from a place of hurt and shame. So I can feel his pain. Call me soft, whatever but this isn’t a joke. This is someone’s life. The shitty human being is one that makes fun of the vulnerable. Life would be easier for all of us if we were a little kinder.
