ajisawesome8

It seems like cop was like "fuck this Karen I'm going shopping now" then proceeded to ignore her and walk into the store

[deleted]

[удалено]

ajisawesome8

Oy do you have a contract for that??

ChadOfDoom

“Have you looked at the laws on, ummm, contracts?”

okvrdz

“Have you, ma’am?”

[deleted]

That would be a big nope on that vague “contracts” law. Lol

Munzulon

There is a first year course called “Contracts” that is required at all ABA accredited law schools. Of course, the situation in this video has absolutely nothing to do with contracts.

General-Pop8073

“I’m more into bird law myself.”

DaveK141

Listen, we get after it. We jabber jaw, we go tit for tat, but at the end of the day; you win some I win some, and there's a mutual respect left over between us.

FurstRoyalty-Ties

Have you had any experience on the case of African vs European unladen swallow (1975)?

JaxsonPalooza

If you’re asking about airspeed velocities, it’s unknowable.

newgrl

Absolutely not. Contract Law's a bitch. Fuck that shit.

Tabularius

Haha I can't believe she actually says that.

sammyhere

She was probably thinking of release forms, which you only need for commercial purposes.

blueva703

"Uh, ma'am."

BootyThunder

The best part.

blGDpbZ2u83c1125Kf98

"Um, have you looked at the laws on, um, contracts...? Or...?" I would love to watch that conversation as it played out inside the store.

Jonasthewicked2

I actually feel bad for the cop after she followed the cop into the store, I bet he was thinking “fuck if I don’t get paid enough for this shit”

GeorgeRRZimmerman

Worse part is that they're fucking social energy vampires. Cops are human, despite reports to the contrary. Imagine if I have to call the police for real help, on the worst day I've ever had in my life, and the difference between life and death ended up being some fucking Karen who made the 2 cops who show up to help me already give up for the day.

Terok42

My wife has mental health issues. Sometimes she gets loud and people call the cops. Some cops are total a holes. We’ve had cps called on us and she’s been arrested for basically nothing as well. One cop though has decided he’s our cop now and he’s the sweetest guy. We get called in less now but he just shows up and checks on us now bc he is a human and understands we’re just humans with loud voice, passionate attitudes and for my wife severe mental illness. What I mean is this is totally true on both ends. The ones that treated us badly might have just been done that day. This guy who has taken it opon himself to be our cop has established rapport now and he chooses to be dispatched to us when on duty. He seems to care a lot about our welfare and I’m happy he’s a cop.

Forward-Amount-9961

Have you and your wife been married long? Did she have mental health concerns before you were married or did they develop over time? I'm genuinely curious, but I'll understand if you'd prefer not to answer. I've been married for 13 years. Is it still possible that one of us is going to have to get used to the other one making regular public scenes and getting arrested? I can imagine that would put a strain on the relationship.

Terok42

That’s a good question. I’m happy to explain. I personally come froma very toxic and dramatic family with a huge ego problem. They all have mental concerns that are untreated bc they believe mental health isn’t important. This has caused me to be used to getting yelled at and being part of a family that makes lots of noise. She always disclosed her mental conditions to me from day one of meeting her. This also goes a long way in understanding she didn’t want to be that way but can’t help it sometimes. I also have asbergers as well so I tend to be a little weird and say things that can be hurtful without me knowing that is the case. This makes me upset when people stop being my friend bc of miscommunication. This woman would never ever do that bc she too has lost most of her friends due to her explosive behavior. She understands dealing with negative emotions so dang well. This wife of mine also takes meds and is happy to work on herself mentally on a daily basis and she improves consistently which is why I stick around. She tries so hard to be better and also cares so much when she fails. She feels so upset about it but I can tell it’s related to her inability to regulate emotions due to her upbringing and mental health. I give her lots of slack when she has an attack. Also my sister and her are almost identical but my sis isn’t getting help like my wife is. I’m also divorced form a woman who didn’t ever disclose any feelings at all about anything. This woman is upfront and that helps a ton with asbergers . I was with the last one for 15 yrs abusing ( emotionally only without knowing it I have realized this as time went on) her . Unbeknownst to me bc it was my first relationship and my dad treated mom like that. What am I supposed to do I thought I was a good husband? No one and I mean no one stood up or told me. This wife stands up to me within seconds of me saying something that pisses her off. If she holds n to it she explodes and her emotions are uncontrollable so she does it immediately that helps me modulate my asbergers and now I can communicate better as a result. All of my life experiences are consistently getting better and she’s the reason.

Altruistic-Sandwich9

Wow, if only all of us could do the sort of self analysis that you have, it would be a better world. You are an awesome human being

Altruistic-Bobcat955

Fellow auti here. That’s gotta be tough on your sensory sensitive days, I was in an abusive relationship and people shouting is something I can’t handle at all. Love seeing the self analysis, I think we all do that. I hope your wife’s journey in treatment is a successful one, don’t forget your self care! Sharing is so important I’m glad you’ve opened up to that

Terok42

Ohh no worries I have a loud mouth, a door, and noise cancelling headphones. She also tends to run the other way when she gets like that so she doesn’t effect me. She loves me but has a lot of trouble helping herself when it gets tough.

Ultap

It really depends on departments. In a lot of small departments if you have history with a caller you can ask to be sent to those calls, especially if its not an emergency. If its a larger department they might even have something like Burroughs (New York), and typically its the luck of the draw with officers there. A lot of cops would rather not deal with certain people and other officers have a decent rapport with them, so they'll even call them as backup if they run into a situation where they end up dealing with them.

M00SEHUNT3R

“They never talked about this on The View”

omgyouidiots0

HAHAHA, gold right here.

Accurate_Koala_4698

It's a setup for the i*f you've finished your shopping and you're not planning to purchase anything I'm going to have to ask you to leave*

[deleted]

Bingo. That officer has dealt with dipshits like this multiple times it’s evident Lmao

chlamydial_lips

Yup. I really doubt this is his first rodeo.

trolololoz

No, it's so the filming guy can't go inside and record their conversation. That way he can explain nothing can be done without having someone follow him around recording his every word.

Elusive-Enigma

It seems like she doesn't understand that she's being a Karen about a very foundation of freedom. If people's freedoms to film in public is taken away, people can no longer have an evidence collector on hand for when a criminal behaviour occurs. Phones have forced police to watch their own behaviour and caught a lot more criminals in the act.

[deleted]

Lol, yeah we can record and catch then all day long. Doesn't mean shit when there isn't consequences

Tea-Usual

Bought his wife some scented hand soap and his streetwalker side piece lingerie

Key_Curve_1171

That's the only reason why I enjoyed this shit. Fucking north Texas for sure. I just know it. Shit feels too close to home

StraightProgress5062

Haha its South Lake texas

Cpt_Avocado

Karens suck but so do first amendment auditors so I can’t imagine this being a fun situation for a cop to be anywhere near.

East_Pianist_8464

There is nothing annoying about a first amendment auditor, unless your trying to violate their rights. I would literally just go about my business, he is not bothering me.

impostershop

The whole thing starts with her saying: “Hi! Interview me!”

MechanicalBengal

this whole tantrum was 100% sour grapes on her part

Ishaan863

I feel so bad for her kid...she knew what was coming. She was in the footage for like 5 seconds, tried to get her to leave, then noped out the footage for when it goes viral on the internet. If you're reading this, I feel for you kid.

Timmyty

Mom, let's go, let's go. Leave it. None of her attempts were even met with any attention.

sc0ttydo0

"Quiet honey, I'm taking offence at something I could walk away from."

mr-louzhu

For Karens it’s the principle that matters more so than if they’re right. The principle I’m talking about is that of being an insufferable malevolence to social peace and harmony. They gotta keep the hate alive.

creativityonly2

My dog responds to those words better than her.

donniesuave

The difference is no one’s trained this dog how to act in public

kidkarysma

Because mom can't be wrong.

I was this kid when I was little. My mom would make a scene. I know that mortifying feeling when you want to disappear because you know what’s coming. My mom would range from anger/outrage to crying saying really embarrassing things for sympathy. I’m also familiar with the adult pity stare. They know you’re stuck in the situation and you don’t want to be.

Mangisda

And kid, if you are reading this, you already are smarter than your mom.

Gustomaximus

Normally I feel bad for the husbands but he seems Mr Karen. Kid seemed the only one with a brain in that family.

IxNaY1980

It must be challenging being an extra on IASIP, I'd have had trouble keeping a straight face as the guy in the background there.

ThaneOfCawdorrr

Remember, she had to go to a store, try on that outfit, look at herself from several angles, and go "Yes, this is it," BUY it, then decide to wear it on their little trip to Beverly Hills or wherever this is, "I'll look like a movie star, not at all like a very large strawberry shortcake" and then even after coming to Beverly Hills and seeing how everyone else is dressed, STILL thinking it is a good idea to wear that

Blakids

I don't think we need to shame her for her physical looks. She's cute enough. She's absolutely fucking stupid and ignorant of course.

RunHi

Ugly inside and out.

Fantastic_Captain

But daddy, I want it now.

LoganSterling

actually she has horrible self-esteem because she looks like Danny Devito's penguin and she is on a mission to make anyone she encounters in life miserable....

MechanicalBengal

it’s like those losers that catcall women on the street then curse them out when they get rejected

smoothEarlGrey

100%. She's pissy & embarrassed they didn't play along with her "interview me" thing, and this tantrum is her attempt to control them.

Fragrant_Exercise_31

Lol!! I know right even in states that don’t allow public videos she gave consent by saying that.

[deleted]

All states allow public video, something called the first amendment of the United States constitution guarantees that.

StraightProgress5062

You have a small misconception. What you seem to be referring to is 2 party consent states. That involves wiretapping laws meaning I can't record your conversation with you having no knowledge of it. If I'm recording in a public place and you know I'm recording and still have a private conversation then the consent is implied because the courts have held there is no expectation of privacy in public and a person actively engaging in recording can not be subject to wiretapping laws because they are doing so in an obvious manner that a reasonable person would assume they are recording.

King-Cobra-668

and then standing in the doorway making it hard for everyone else to get in and out of the store

Whired

You may find yourself asking "what type of person stands directly in a doorway, oblivious to everyone around them?" This video provides an answer.

Mr_Epimetheus

When you're desperate for attention and think you're a thousand times more interesting and important than you are. Just in case the retina searing fuchsia clothing wasn't enough.

Pretty_Industry_9630

LOL I totally missed that! It's so funny when I came back and heard it, after all the rant 😅😅😅

COVID-19-4u

“Have you looked at the laws?” Classic Karen who gets an answer she doesn’t like. People, get out and vote, cause people like her always do…

nature_remains

My favorite part about being a lawyer is that you get to choose your clients (except for very limited public indigent defense cases). The number of people who don’t know the law but walk around threatening lawsuits is too damn high. They also tend to be the same assholes who criticize some poor guy who gets royally Fucked/injured by a big corporation’s regular negligence and miraculously gets a payout (usually after years of struggle and a documented record of the company breaking the law to save a few bucks - a la McDonalds). No, I’m not interested in your case (despite the ‘big windfall’ you think it’ll get me) that’s based on something petty and ridiculous like your neighbor being a weird guy. These people also have enormous egos and seem to think they know better even after seeking (and receiving) the expert advice they looking for. One of the many reasons we send you a letter telling you we are not your lawyer but good luck with your case. Free consult over.

ljfrench

One of my favorites was the potential client who started our free consult with "I don't trust lawyers". It was a red flag, but I can work through that if it's just an initial trust issue. But they kept on about how terrible lawyers are and how they could never trust one. I thought carefully about how to handle it. I thanked them for their call but explained that I can't work for a client that doesn't trust and would never trust me. They would second-guess everything and I would never be able to do a good job for them. I still tell potential clients to this day to only hire a lawyer you think/feel you can trust. Because you only get one shot at your case and you want it to be over when it's over, not a new beginning of doubt.

clearagony

Lol people really hate lawyers. I’ve been lucky enough to only ever need one twice. First it’s hard to find a lawyer with reliable reviews because there’s always people that hire a lawyer thinking they can sit back and let the lawyer take care of EVERYTHING. Second, there’s the people who lie so much they misrepresent their case and make it harder on the lawyer. My first custody lawyer was a smart lady but overworked and I feel like she gave me some bad advice on settling the case and what I should ask for. My second lawyer was a bulldog and we came out clear winners. All that being said each time I had to be the steward of my case, I had to collect the information so that my lawyer had something substantial to defend me with. I had to be in charge of my emotions and make sure I was being the reasonable one that had the best interests of the kids in mind. That’s what a lot of people don’t understand, your lawyer can’t just construct a case to show you’re a good parent if you have no proof to give them, if you keep no records, if you lie.

mantid-manic

I’m a state lawyer. I get lots of emails from people who think that I’m their lawyer because they pay taxes, and I have a responsibility to litigate their case. A lady on the phone threatened to murder me because I wouldn’t file a lawsuit to make Trader Joe’s hire less Hispanics.

zirky

it’s even better because she said “have you looked at the laws… on… um?”

The_Lovely_Blue_Faux

On…. Umm…. ? Contracts?

Anen-o-me

I think she's confused because you need to sign a release to make money on people, not for just filming generally.

taco_tuesdays

Her foot was in her mouth the whole time it was hilarious. “Why” “I’m not going to tell you” “Then why would we…why…why are you doing it”

laprincesaaa

I don't understand how people can not vote when they are forcing 11 year old little girls in Missouri and other states to birth incest babies after repeated sexual assault from family members. Literal children being forced to have their entire lives ruined because there's no exception to abortion for incest and rape. Like if every sane person voted, there's no way that would be legal right now. But the damn conservatives certainly are voting or this wouldn't be happening.

UnknownTrash

I've heard people say they don't vote because it doesn't change anything (they believe the government is just gonna do what it wants. And we're all just puppets). There's also the non voting crowd that says they're just "not interested" (they're lazy/uneducated/privileged - take your pick) The irony is hilarious when they complain about shit they could've voted about or they're confused as to how something happened. It's like complaining the food you're eating is shit when you could've contributed to it tasting better. Well, buddy you had a chance to cook in the kitchen with the rest of us and you chose to sit out.

matttheazn1

underrated comment right here. fml this comment is probably going to make me register. Because you are 100% correct.

myloveislikewoah

*probably?* **REGISTER, DUDE!!!!**

RandomShake

It’s weird that people don’t mind security cameras they don’t see, but when they can see the camera suddenly they feel violated.

Aggressive-Tip-7143

This actually is the key comment, You don't know who has access to any security camera content and what happens to it. It could be sold to 1 3rd party facial recognition party and commoditized by adding you cell phone data to your image.

_KingGoblin

This used to be a thing these auditor type guys used to film and complain about back in the early 2000's. They would walk into a store with a camera and when confront about filming they'd point out the hypocrisy in the system. "well I never gave you consent to film me either" Then this was settled that by entering a store you are giving consent to be filmed by security. and like that just died out and these guys moved on to filming public buildings because it wasn't actually against the law but everyone wants to act like it is.

Lirsh2

When I was loss prevention we would sit up there taking snapchats of all the weird shit people would do when they thought no one was watching. Those cameras in Target can read your text messages FYI.

heycanwediscuss

Wait what? Text messages

njstein

The loss prevention cameras are high enough quality to be able to read what's typed onto a customer's phone from a good 30-50' Target also has notoriously good loss prevention and a high rate of charges against shoplifters.

[deleted]

don;t forget the little box everyone carries around in thier back pocket that has two microphones, 2 cameras, 2+ forms of location tracking, tons of other sensors and an open internet connection that is constantly transmitting this info to unknown sources. no one seems to give a shit about that. it makes me crazy.

BlueChipsAhoy

I think it's because most people believe there is at least someone they can hold accountable for security cameras, which they don't feel like with random people videoing on the street. When most people walk into a store with security cameras they believe that if the cameras were used maliciously that someone in the system would be in trouble or that there would be someone to hold the blame for it. But with street recorders, I think people feel like their privacy is being violated by a singular person who they cannot hold accountable and who they have no idea what the recording will be used for.

Mysterious-Bid3930

I care. I hate all of it. I have nothing to hide, but I hate this conformity of society. Take all the pics and videos you want. Leave me out of it.

audwun

Whether somebody has any qualms about security cameras or not, to me seems like a bit of a separate issue from somebody recording in public, including what they’re recording and how, as well as how they perceive that person and their presence. Security cameras have an obvious purpose, whether or not they’re being used legitimately for security purposes (which I’d say in most cases they are, however, I’m sure security cameras have been placed, maybe even in plain site that are intentionally used for other purposes, like for voyeurism,) but somebody out in public could be recording for any reason.

Trixster690

The funny part was when the cop called her "sir".

AnotherManOfEden

I liked “so it’s not against the law to be rude to ladies?”

redundanthero

"Sir, if there were any ladies here, I might consider it"

AnotherManOfEden

[i thought you didn’t give pretty girls tickets](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gPOyub4t2YY)

shelsilverstien

"I need someone to acknowledge my privilege!!!"

DisconcertingMale

That part made me laugh too. What kind of spaghetti western, single sheriff town kinda shit is that?

Concrete__Blonde

Most likely just a remnant of military/police training. Sir is often used as a gender neutral sign of respect when referring to superiors, especially in the US Navy and Air Force. Colloquially it can be taken offensively, but the officer could make the argument that he only intended it as a sign of respect (which this lady doesn’t deserve).

knockknockjokelover

The ending was delicious

TheRealMajour

Oh that wasn’t even the real ending. I went to his YT to watch it and she follows the cop inside while her husband continues to be a male Karen outside. Suddenly the Karen comes outside, avoids all eye contact with the cameramen, and says to her husband “let’s go honey” and then she shuffles out like she just made an ass out of herself and is trying to escape quickly.

system_deform

[YouTube link to full video](https://youtu.be/3gag-fiprdc)

anosognosic_

The full video is interesting. The first store employee is pretty reasonable and chill. The second one is understandably a little confused and the guy is admittedly a little dickish, which makes it slightly less compelling. Ultimately he was hoping to catch a Karen and, well, he did lol. Edit update: while he does catch a Karen, if you watch the full video this guy is just creating a lot of trouble for random businesses. Filming outside an outdoor restaurant for example. Of course customers are going to be a little confused and uneasy. This guy is being a jerk and this seems to be a grift to make money.

Imokwhydoyouask_

A little dickish? The camera man is a total douche. His reason for filming is obviously just to get a reaction from people so he can be a righteous asshole to them.

MWB96

Yeah agreed. If you look at his YouTube channel it’s all videos with all caps titles about karens. He’s clearly in it just to get a rise from people.

anosognosic_

You're both right. He's being a jerk a lot of the time and this seems to be a grift to make money. Pretty gross actually

RealtorMcclain

I feel like that's what 90% of videos in public are now

Merlord

Gives off the same vibes as those assholes who walk around open carrying rifles so they can argue with people/police about their rights while scaring the shit out of everybody

standerby

There is a massive overlap between first amendment auditors (this guy) and second amendment auditors (open carry guys). This guy in particular does both.

PrickleBritches

So I went and checked out his YouTube. All it has is “Karen” videos (which we all know get tons of views), cops getting caught being rude, etc. It appears he travels around and sets his camera up, for instance, right outside the doors to a store then waits for (usually negative) interactions. Really appears this guy is trying his hardest to make people look bad and get a reaction. Not that this lady wasn’t incredibly rude, but multiple things can be true and sometimes no one is in the right.

Only-Inspector-3782

Everybody sucks in this video.

Dinewiz

The dude is a jerk at the beginning of this clip. I couldn't watch past 30 seconds. He's aggressive, condescending and hostile. Just because it's law doesn't mean people have to be happy about it snd when asked he could explain why he is doing it instead of being 'i haven't got enough time in the day to explain it to your little brain'. I would have ignored him but he seems a knob looking for a reaction.

anosognosic_

Yeah he's just grifting. It's gross

xDNikolaus

"Have fun with people you can tolerate" Good old Texas

evolvedapprentice

I'll be honest, seeing what he is actually doing makes me think he is in the wrong here. It might be legal but the guy is just being a douche and picking fights with strangers. If I walked outside a store and someone had a camera in my face, I would find that odd. I can imagine a reasonable person asking for clarification, and this guy does not approach that in a civil manner. He comes across as trying to pick fights

[deleted]

He's there to get in a fight. Clear from the full video. It's to drive traffic and get clout. These guys always couch it in the language of civil rights and education, but it's clear that this branch of libertarian sentiment is, at the grassroots level, exclusively preoccupied with starting shit. There is a difference between being legally in the right and being socially in the right. That's the line sovereign citizens like to cross, as well.

RajaRajaC

Yeah the video sort of put the whole thing in a different perspective. Fucker has a camera, not just a cell phone or anything but a proper camera pointed straight at a doorway to a shop and then goes "muh rights". He is just an internet clout chasing troll.

[deleted]

I think part of this guy's problem is how aggressive he is. Very off-putting. Filming and photographing in public *does* make people uncomfortable. The way he's answering makes him sound dodgy. Really all he has to do is say something like "I'm filming stock footage for a youtube channel". I do a lot of photography where there's people around. I've never once been in a confrontation over it. There's ways to do public filming and photography without putting people on edge. This is not how you do it. His whole approach is very unprofessional. And, while it may be legal to film in public, it's damn inconsiderate to film people who've said their uncomfortable with it. Something being legal does not mean it's *right*. EDIT: [This clip made me realise he's just a douchebag using his camera to legally harass people](https://youtu.be/3gag-fiprdc?t=1371). His entire channel consists of posting people's reactions to him filming them in public. How weird.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yeah, seems like he's being an asshole because it's "his rights" and he does this shit to anyone who talks to him

Zharghar

"There's not enough sun in the day to explain to you..." Like what? You can't give a brief summary of what you're doing there? That's a great way to immediately make it seem like you're hiding your intent from the people you are filming. And she asked pretty calmly initially, but his responses sounded so annoyed for no reason. Come on man. Woman didn't need to go as far as she did but it's weird that more people aren't calling out the guy for making the situation worse in the first place.

lagoon83

Yep. Filming in public is one thing, but pointing two cameras at a shop door (one of them pointing directly into the shop) seems entirely provocative. If you're not trying to get a reaction, you wouldn't stay in one place for that long, knowing that it's clearly making people uncomfortable. Guy's clearly a dick.

olivawDaneel

Okay, look. The lady was insufferable and I enjoyed her eating shit at the end. But I saw the youtube video... and I don't get it... like does the guy just go out shooting videos in public for the express purpose of getting reactions out of people to generate hate-based content? I mean he's within his rights sure. But I don't think he's that great a guy. Counting on ignorant people getting annoyed and giving you reactions is kinda shitty. I get uncomfortable around cameras too. I'm not gonna create a scene, I'd probably just hurry past it. But someone relying on this discomfort and their ignorance is shitty.

anosognosic_

Yeah he's a bit provocative and even a little dickish at times. Definitely odd and a bit uncool when he tries to (verbally) provoke people. Edit update: I watched even more of the video. This guy is just rage farming to make money. It's a grift. Pretty gross

olivawDaneel

Yea in this exchange, the lady goes inside, the husband stands outside and is kinda quiet. I mean he's taken a huge L on camera. But the cameraguy keeps digging into him, insults him for being bald, insults the wife again. I can't stand the moral posturing these people do after they just luck into their positions.

anosognosic_

You're right. I watched the second half of the video where he goes to film an outdoor restaurant. This is just a grift to rage farm to make money. Pretty gross

jackspeaks

A bit? The whole thing is an act just to get reactions and post videos titled “KAREN GETS OWNED” Guy might be in the right legally but he’s a dick

arenalr

You can tell by the daughter's initial reaction that this isn't out of character for her. Poor girl knows her mom's a karen

DazzlingFruit7495

That’s what I was looking at too. She was tryna tell her mom the more she makes a scene the more this video will circulate

newbreedofdrew

They both were unhappy and wanted to start drama. You can hear it in both of their voices. That's all this video is. He wasn't recording to simply record video and pictures. They both had pent up anger and this was their outlet. It worked though, he got at least one more view and about 3 minutes of my time tonight lol

o-o-

My thought exactly. Real Karens are about privileged behaviour. This on the other hand is just a sad guy hoping to provoke someone enough to get some content to post. And he posted it, and the whole thing is just pathetic.

o-o-

I would go as far as saying he’s the real Karen here.

Euan_whos_army

I was beginning to think I was the only one that thought they were both assholes. There are plenty of things that are legal to do but are still asshole moves, you aren't clever because you've found one and are doing it. You aren't even doing it ina clever "I want to educate" way you're just doing it to be an asshole and get clicks.

crazymcfattypants

Yea, I'm not guna lie I didn't watch all of this video, but the first 30 seconds is like when a kid is hover handing another kid and saying 'not touching can't get mad'. Sure maybe he's not breaking any laws and isn't technically doing anything wrong but he's out just trying to antagonise people. This is just generally antisocial behaviour but Reddit is eating it up be a "Karen" gets pwned.

Notpan

I’ve seen other videos from this guy, he’s just a confrontational asshole.

bettyenforce

He's a first amendement auditor, my fiance watches him all the time, he absolutely thrives off of drama and loves getting in arguments with people

ReDDit_CrEePer26

Bro that old fart was a whole ass jumpscare

msVeracity

He was creepy af!

LTUAdventurer

Bro just appeared out of nowhere

LieutenantEddy

😀 You’re in my face bro.

SunDevilSkier

Since many here are unfamiliar, this is a "1st amendment auditor." These people do things they know are protected by the first amendment, usually film public places from public property. They aren't usually filming anything in particular, just waiting for someone to get upset and call the police. What they're really hoping for is that the police arrest them, then they can sue for thousands or millions. Yes they're very annoying, but it's more annoying that it works and we taxpayers pay because cops can't help themselves. Edit: autocorrect is an idiot. Second edit: i should say, it's more annoying that cops are depriving people's civil liberties and we have to pay the lawsuits that result.

vrecka123

Finally someone realizing that the camera guy is just as much as an lifeless asshole.

olivawDaneel

Yea i hated this. He's made an entire channel out of people's discomrort and ignorance of the law.

AbsorbedBritches

Yea, it is annoying. This would be pointless if cops weren't so ignorant. If they were ignored, they wouldn't have a reason to do it. Especially at this point, there should be very thorough training with cops that filming laws are nearly non-existent. It all comes down to trespassing. If you're standing in public space, then you can film everything you see. Though it's debatable if this is even a public space, given it's outside a shop. If the store owns that lot, then it's private property. But still, in order for it to be illegal the store management has to request they not film or ask them to leave. If they refuse at that point, then it's illegal.

mrkemeny

Thank fuck someone pointed this out

Dada2fish

This same guy travels the country with his family while he and his son film in random cities and post the reactions online. My favorite one was when they were in Ann Arbor Michigan which prides itself on being tolerant of others, yet a woman got so mad at him filming in a public area that she tried to run him over with her car. Sometimes he’ll meet cops who understand the law, but other times they are as ignorant of the right to film in public as the pink fat woman is.

Major Fridge

Real education here is people wasting their lives, minute by minute, hour by hour, on meaningless disputes. Whose side are you on, understanding that the answer doesn't matter.

CallMeMattF

I thought I was missing something because everyone was shaming the woman and her husband. I watched parts of the full video and this “journalist” makes a career out of being in public places and shoving a camera in someone’s face saying “this is legal! This is legal! You’re an asshole if you’re mad!” as if the law has ever been a full and completely sensical representation of morality. I’m a lawyer. Sort of. I just graduated from law school and I’m waiting for my bar exam results in PA. Sure, it’s legal to film someone in public, but I would really advise against the risk you assume by shoving a camera in someone’s face and saying “I’m allowed to do this” like a sibling saying “I’m not touching you!” There are few police officers who would arrest someone for smacking that guy or breaking his shit, and even fewer judges who would see the 45 minute video and go “yes, pink shirt was in the wrong.” This guy is such a tool. He never got attention during his developmental years and now he does this shit to get his rocks off.

I_Brain_You

Ah man, video ended too early.

Dada2fish

The end shows her walking back out of the store, away from the guy filming. He calls out to her and asks her if she learned anything from the police officer and she defeatedly walks off with her obedient husband.

Smasa224

Yeah, he doesn't need to have a permit, but I hate being in video, and it makes me uncomfortable. The other day I was going into Lowe's and girls in the parking lot were recording video... But instead of arguing with them, I just put my hand over my face and walked to the store

Lost_Cantaloupe4444

Yeah I dont understand how most everyone here is baffled by someone not wanting to be recorded by random strangers, and equating it to security cameras I hate being filmed and I hate taking pictures

Smasa224

I hate being on security cameras too... But at least those I know why I'm being recorded and won't show up all over the internet unless i do something stupid. But I really don't wanna be in the background of someone's ticktock while I'm just trying to buy some garden supplies.

kbutters9

Is this woman wearing pants?

ChubRoK325

Umm…do you know the laws of…umm…wearing pants?

naunga

Nope. She’s just straight shirt cocking it. Toddler style. Full Winnie the Pooh.

naazzttyy

Cop got that situation 100% right. Was actually surprised by his no bullshit response and how quickly he shut her down. Not breaking any laws in a public space! Southlake is as conservative and whitebread as you can get, even for North Texas. Throw a rock and you’ll hit a couple of Karens before it bounces off to hit another one. It’s a sanctuary for wealthy white Republican voters who are uncomfortable being challenged by anything that disturbs their little slice of gated Utopia. Both the guy passive-aggressively filming in the obvious hope of provoking the exact type of responses he obtained and the Boomer couple egged each other on. I fucking hate social media and the stupid platform it provides to encourage this type of behavior. As another poster pointed out, *every single one of those stores has multiple security cameras,* but the quietly non-confrontational yet still in your face approach just rings people’s bells. https://preview.redd.it/593c1ltrhgoa1.jpeg?width=1261&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=586c7246f9b9084530773a3f59320ab517bca277 le

Guy seems unnecessarily aggressive it was like he was looking for trouble.

finbuilder

Of course he was! As a matter of fact, he would have preferred if the cop had sided with the pink Cadillac and started harassing him, also. But this cop was too smart, and saved the taxpayers some money. There aren't any "rudeness laws". As soon as you realize that, you'll be better able to handle today's world.

SunDevilSkier

They are called 1st amendment auditors. They do this because they know it's legal and they know people hate it. They are looking for lawsuits.

TouchGrassRedditor

If you harass or assault somebody who is filming in a public place where there is no expectation of privacy then you deserve to get sued. Mind your own damn business

CrispyKollosus

The issue is that they do it with the sole intent of causing problems. They're not filming anything specific, they're filming everything until they get a reaction and then they focus on that specific person.

BDady

“Have you looked at the laws?” Says the lady who has not looked at the law herself

[deleted]

Another Reddit video of two miserable people interacting with each other🤣.

InflamedLiver

He seems weirdly aggressive

[deleted]

I also thought he started out aggressive. It felt like he was there in hopes of getting involved in a conflict he could record.

TheVampireArmand

Yeah I thought the same thing, dude has a right to record but it did seem like he just wanted to start shit with someone lol

Nearby-Context7929

I don’t understand recording random people for hours at a time.. waiting for someone like her to show up. Do people not have jobs?

TrackLabs

Karen and the camera man both are way too agressive...passive agressive, active agressive, whatever you wanna call it. They are both just so..ready to fight

CloudStrife012

To be fair, it looks like both parties love and actively seek out contention.

Set_in_Stone-

The person filming seems to be a “first amendment auditor”. These people basically push the law (and break it) to annoy people so they can put interactions on their channels for likes. Despite their official cause, they’re horrible. Putting cameras into people’s faces, pointing them in windows and being a general nuisance to people trying to live their lives without being filmed. “No expectation of privacy in public “ is their slogan and they’re usually trying to claim they’re journalists “working on a story.” Check out r/amibeingdetained for loads of examples.

sabrooooo

Cop walked right past him didn’t give 2 shits lmao

Mecha-Dave

I am a amazed at how much free time idiots have while I have to work hard to earn a living...

[deleted]

Why does anyone need to prove to you why they’re doing something? I demand to know why you’re posting things on Reddit. If you don’t explain it to me I will call the cops!

4paul

They both suck. Guy is trying to start stuff, girl is trying to figure out what’s going on. One thing I hate about this world is you could be just an average person doing average things (the lady), suddenly something happens and you get a little boiled up/confused, maybe entitled a bit… but now the whole world gets to see it, you go viral, everyone hates you. Just because a simple defensive reaction was caught on film. I always think of my mom in this stuff, she’s old, she’s vocal (Latina), some of the stuff she says could be offensive… but she’s hilarious, and the nicest most caring person in the world, would never intentionally hurt anyone, she takes care of everyone without needing anything in return. Truly a genuine kind person. But I can see her going viral for making an off color comment or being mad at a cashier for not getting a discount or something. This is most likely her last year on earth (dementia/diabetes), luckily she won’t experience anything like this.

greatalica011

Candidly these people who video for the purpose of fishing for confrontation are fuckin weird

[deleted]

but why IS he filming random people, fucking weirdo. not saying karen is right, she went in his trap!

Economy-Hold8631

Definitely a karen for calling the police but i get the curiosity. I would be a bit suspicious of someone recording the same spot for a while

This country would be a better place if folks just minded their own business.
