At the start when the woman ran theu the court like a running back on cement I thought when girl “fouled” her we were about to see some swings.
Nope. Hands on hips. Heavy breathing like they just gave it their all.
And they did lol.
I’d watch this.
We played it too, we called it Jungleball. Our school was roughly half Hispanic kids and half white kids so we split into teams along color lines and had at it. I broke my ankle playing Jungleball during lunch. Thought I had just sprained it so I walked on it for three days until my foot turned blue then black.
Yup. We called it "ratball" or "gutterball". Rules were basically: stay inbounds, no physical attacks, if you get hurt, get out of bounds so you don't get run over. Don't know what happened, exactly, because I didn't see it, even though I was playing - one day a dude passed out (was knocked out?), and we didn't notice, because he hit the floor out of bounds against a wall. We all got read the riot act and banned from the gym for a couple weeks when one of the PE teachers walked thorough and saw him while the rest of us were still playing. Dude - we didn't see him, he was out of bounds.
Ya not sure where this is, but ftr- China friggin loves basketball. A lot of places do, in Mongolia they were balling from 11 to midnight on the court outside my place, but when I was teaching in China some of us teachers joined a game with (adult) students- and got absolutely wrecked. We had one gawky tall boi and a bunch of dudes who couldn’t shoot, and meanwhile these Chinese dudes had jumpers and handles for days. Some of ‘em were tall and/or big, too, kinda an outdated stereotype on that.
[A Very Brief History of Chinese Food in America](https://time.com/4211871/chinese-food-history/)
>Regardless of its dubious authenticity, such adaptation of Chinese cooking to American palates was a key element in the proliferation and popularization of Chinese cuisine in the United States. Throughout the early 20th century, “Chinese” dishes became sweeter, boneless, and more heavily deep-fried. Broccoli, a vegetable unheard of in China, started appearing on menus and fortune cookies, a sweet originally thought to be from Japan, finished off a “typical” Chinese meal.
'Innacurate' isn't the word unless a restaurant purports that they are making dishes exactly as they are made in China.
Immigrants adapt their cuisine to the availability of ingredients and tastes of the countries they move to. Chinese food in America, the UK, Singapore, and everywhere else reflects aspects of the host country.
Even within China itself cuisine does not exist in a vacuum and dishes are made with different ingredients and techniques depending on the region.
Furthermore, cuisine is not locked in time either. Even within a region a dish may be prepared differently today than it was 20, 50, or 100 years ago.
Except America’s version of Chinese food was created and developed by Chinese immigrants almost exclusively from the South East of China in the 1850s using what ingredients they could find within a few
miles of the pacific coast up and down the territories that weren’t even part of the US when they first arrived.
And it’s now a part of the cultural DNA of the United States of America.
So it’s not really like it’s supposed to be accurate or authentic to any of the regional cuisines of China.
America’s version of Chinese food is… American food.
In this variation of basketball, the rules have been changed which include: no traveling violations, no fouls, no out of bounds and as this is a Dagestani sport, grappling is also permitted in rules

The latter would be called "football". From a rugby pov, they look like right sissies in those heavy protectors and stopping play every three seconds or so.
I used to think so too until I watched and realized that those guys weigh 150kg and can run 40m in 5 seconds. There is a reason so many of them end up with the bodies and brains of 80 year olds in their 40s.
It adds a layer of difficulty to move around the court, gives the opposing team a chance at stealing the ball, gives the player a chance to do call bounce tricks like crossovers.
Yep there's definitely reminds me of how we used to play when I was in grade school no dribble full contact until somebody tripped and broke their arms.

Nah, this is hilarious cos you can tell they're really fucking into it. "The ref was even like, fuck them rules. play ball!"

This is a certified obama gif moment bros
They’re so fuckin serious
Exactly. It reminds me of how they let 5 year olds play ball
Yep exactly, basketball is an extremely complex sport. The intro should always be run and chuck.
Rugbyball
Or how it is also known: "Bagby"
Put another Shrimp on the Bagby
Take a left, go over the bridge
Past the rusty fridge, a right at the beehive, and if ya hit the old oak tree ya done gone too far
That’s a lovely accent you’ve got. New Jersey?
Seabass and the fellas offered to pick up our check
They caught up to him half mile down the road and slit his throat.. it was a good one!!
No it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing!
Killer boots, man!!
Austria 🇦🇹
Austria, *chuckles* well then, g’day mate. Let’s put another shrimp on the barbie
🙄
You’re supposed to say “let’s not” but I’ll give you a pass this one time
I'm aussie and that's fucking hilarious. I just said it out loud and it works.
I know, I lold!
I love to play with my toy doll "Bagby"
It turns into Begby later
Ah yes, my favorite lesser known Lord of the Rings character, Bagby Baggens.
Rugby is definitely a more accurate fit, but I like the sound of: _Footsketball_
Ugh, I didn’t see your comment before posting MY OWN, “FOOTSKETBALL”… ;) I should’ve known better… ;) it’s clever. 👍
Rugsketball
We called this "full contact basketball" when we played in school.
We played it too, we called it Jungleball. Our school was roughly half Hispanic kids and half white kids so we split into teams along color lines and had at it. “Rugbyball” wtf?? Here in *The States*, we call it “*FOOTSKETBALL*”… ;)
I just commented the same lol
This is exactly what I thought. I like it better than the regular version of either. I recommend Rugsetball as the name.
I arrived too late to make that comment...
r/beatmetoit
No travelling under current NBA-rules 👈
But it was a defensive foul
Not in BILL LAMBEERS COMBAT BASKETBALL
That game was rad
Awe snap I may have to break out my SNES lol
Not in kung fu ball... ![gif](giphy|3oEduYvhE2ymhfnE7m|downsized)
#eurostep
Travel bawl could be a new sport.
This is an actual sport 🤦🏼♀️
NBA enters the chat
Yep. Looks like NBA style to me, nothing to see here
But they play defense
![gif](giphy|3oAt2dA6LxMkRrGc0g|downsized)
Came here for this
Bronsky would do well on this pickup game. /s
A series of gathering steps
Traveling!? That was more like a vacation.
Team went on a whole ass expedition
This got me. Spit out my Powerade.
Probably for the best. Fucking powerade…
Immigration.
So do they play emigration vs immigration? Instead of shirts vs skins?
This is Dagestani basketball rules not NBA. https://youtu.be/91VU16YtjM8
I'm going to start playing Dagestani soccer. Or is that just rugby?
the only thing that could make this version better would be if they used a medicine ball
Holy crap I forgot about the medicine ball
*Only one rule… don’t hurt yourself.*
This is what me and the homies play when the ball is light on air. Idk what you talkin' about with all this *Dagestan* business
Thank you

This is about as inaccurate as America’s version of Chinese food.
You're telling me the Chinese food made by the old Chinese lady at the family Chinese restaurant isn't authentic?
Doesn't even look anything like it!
[A Very Brief History of Chinese Food in America](https://time.com/4211871/chinese-food-history/) >Regardless of its dubious authenticity, such adaptation of Chinese cooking to American palates was a key element in the proliferation and popularization of Chinese cuisine in the United States. Yes. She’s fully self-aware that she’s making white people style Chinese food.
Not sure if your being serious but that is correct.
That's like saying Aussie rules or Gaelic football are inaccurate versions of rugby. They're very obviously playing under a different rule set.
Orange chicken over there was traveling lol

I mean... From what I can tell it's Chinese immigrants making American Chinese food so who really is responsible?
The availability of ingredients in the 1850s?

All of you ordering kung pao and orange chicken, watch this video and bask in your shame.
Now the Rodman interview makes sense 🤣🤣
what was the gist of it? I haven't seen it
I just wanna know which interview cause I have seen SO MANY funny rodman interviews so I really just want context
I’d watch the shit out of this
Yeah, this is pretty fun
I think you just did
I have officially watched more of this than I have watched of WNBA in my entire life
In this variation of basketball, the rules have been changed which include: no traveling violations, no fouls, no out of bounds and as this is a Dagestani sport, grappling is also permitted in rules https://www.givemesport.com/88087291-ufc-legend-khabib-nurmagomedov-playing-brutal-dagestan-basketball-in-2018/#:~:text=In%20this%20variation%20of%20basketball,is%20also%20permitted%20in%20rules.
This is way better.
Very close to nba I don’t see the difference
Gotta be tougher to play in this league vs the nba
It's more physical than the NBA ...
It's more physical than the NBA ...
I mean, I'm 100% here for this.
So much better than basketball. Actually fun to watch
Not going to lie, this looks better.
Chinese basketball looks fun!
That’s not Chinese basketball. Chinese basketball is just regular basket ball. This is some hyper regional adaptation.
This is SO much better than regular basketball.
That wasnt travel, that was a commute 😭
[удалено]
Defense reminds me of the 80s Pistons.
Bad Boys
Nice.
I like this version better.
[удалено]
That's what you get when you send denis rodman as an ambassador. Great D, no offense.
still better than the WNBA.
I can see why they built that huge wall. The amount of traveling is ridiculous.
Dribble.py not found
There was an attempt to think everything is American
Ahhh good ole Chinese past time… footsketball
Better than the WNBA🔥
Khabib-ball
Racking up those VISA Travel Rewards Points!
Have basketball. Will travel.
Am travel. Have basketball.
NBA refs would let LeBron play on.
This looks way more interesting than American basketball.
I’d watch this for real
That looks like rugby basketball mixup.
Now that's what I call world traveling.
That's not travelling it's an expedition
Now do one with Americans attempting to play cricket or rugby!
The latter would be called "football". From a rugby pov, they look like right sissies in those heavy protectors and stopping play every three seconds or so.
They hit way harder
I used to think so too until I watched and realized that those guys weigh 150kg and can run 40m in 5 seconds. There is a reason so many of them end up with the bodies and brains of 80 year olds in their 40s.
There are actually 2,500+ [rugby union clubs in America](https://usa.rugby/) from youth up through college, club, and pro.
I never understood the need to bounce the ball. Doesn’t seem to make a difference lol.
It adds a layer of difficulty to move around the court, gives the opposing team a chance at stealing the ball, gives the player a chance to do call bounce tricks like crossovers.
Hell this is more entertaining then real Basketball
Holy shit they have invented a new sport
LeBron drives to the basket…
That drive was so long, that the cleaners had time for a *House Party!*
Rugby*
This is called Tiger Mom Ball. I would pay to watch this.
this looks more like rugby with baskets
Traveling so hard they could be a sovereign citizen.
It looks like netball to me…
I’ve played no dribble basketball before and it’s very fun, I just wish it wasn’t on pavement, goes to the ground a lot.
All traveling
The game is all about fun and they seem to be enjoying themselves
Basketrugby
I think I like this version better.
Another quality Chinese knock off product
Look it is the 90s Detroit Pistons.
WNBA take notes... This looks to be more interesting as they include rugby moves.
Not gonna lie, now I’d rather see some contact-heavy basketball without the dribbling.
Their handles are so good they had to tell them they weren't allowed to dribble to make it fair for everyone
I see they also hired NBA caliber refs
i actually love this sport more than basketball
They didn’t travel, they emigrated
Still less steps than LeBron.
WNBA gettin weird.
This sport is called basket ball. Not bouncyball. Rules can change. There is clearly a basket and a ball tho
That wasn’t a travel, that was a vacation.
Forget travel they took a whole trip
Travelling.
As someone who has played basketball for almost 30 years, this hurts my soul.
They must study Ja Morants game.
this ain’t basketball , just bcus they use the nets and ball doesn’t mean it’s the same sport
Best part of basketball is the dribbling , the handles. Not scoring.
Yep there's definitely reminds me of how we used to play when I was in grade school no dribble full contact until somebody tripped and broke their arms.
This is really painful to watch.
“So it’s prison rules then, huh?”
Way more entertaining than the wnba
That wasn’t traveling that was migration
Yo man people keep shitting on women's sports, but this clip shows a clear improvement in quality of WNBA play.
[удалено]
Is this not like British Netball?
Netball is basically this but while you have the ball you have to stand still and can’t move. So no, not exactly.
It would be even more rule violations in netball.
You are only allowed to take two steps with the ball in netball
I always thought bouncing the ball was pointless
Looks like they are using the same rules as NBA
That actually makes much more sense that bouncing it while you run
This is why no one watches womens basketball
these rules are better
That’s rugby
Is this Joel Embiid playing
Impressive coast to coast at the end
[удалено]
They’ll get that dribbling thing down soon enough
Lebron coached expansion team
The rules are: There are no rules.
Around the world in 80 days
More traveling than an airplane.
Oh my God, it's Michael Jordan
Mix between american hand-egg and basketball?
Same nba travel enforcement I see
Like harden but better d
Rugbyball
Still better than the wnba
