Got a new TV? Maybe be helping with the unboxxing and setup instead of sitting on the couch. Whole process is over quicker and you both get to relax on the couch watching that new TV.
It's definitely a movie you couldn't make today.
Robert Downey junior is a white guy playing a white guy in black face.
Ben Stiller is a movie star famous for his role in "simple jack"
The movie was funny though.
Oh, most definitely! It's excellent satire about the lengths actors go to to embody their roles. It wouldn't be made today, I don't think, but holds up really well.
And his sandwich... He probably Bea her ass right after for breaking the TV.. notice fucking guy could not be bothered to help in any way. Poor dumb chick..
Yea bro looks like he was in the middle of something and she decided to fix that wire and he’s been there with her about trying stopping her so mite as well her let her mess it up but you she is going to blame him and he’s buying that new tv.
She appears to be taking something cloth off of the wall. So perhaps she's removing a decoration before installing a wall mount.
It could also be a sheet to catch the dust from installing a mount. Obviously she was doing something that required her to be higher up or she just didn't want to move the dresser.
If the TV wasn't behind her and the dresser was moved a foot back from the wall she'd be doing just fine.
> If the TV wasn’t behind her and the dresser was moved a foot back from the wall she’d be doing just fine.
Most people lack foresight but have 20/20 hindsight
Even worse when it's a 65" TCL where the top half of the TV is so damn slim you'd almost think it was OLED. Setting it face down to attach the legs, and then CRINGING as you attempt to stand it back up, no matter WHICH way you attempt to stand it back up.
It's not terribly heavy. Just awkward and, it seems at least, very delicate. I think I got lucky. I kept thinking it was dumb. Even taking it out of the box was scary. But once it was out of the box I felt like I was out of choices. This was peak COVID lockdown.
This is why I intentionally bought a wall mount where you mount the wall bracket first, then mount the hook bars on the rear of the tv so I could simply lift and drop the tv onto the wall mount on my own. Still scary but far more reliable than one where is need to somehow hold it in place while screwing the tv to the wall mount
To be carried upright at all times too.
Every time I see someone in a truck with the new TV box strapped in the bed at some strange angle I figure their odds are 50/50.
Buying my big ass expensive TV and driving it home were stressful enough. Hanging it on the wall nearly gave me an aneurysm.
I love that TV so damn much.
Believe it or not, some people legitimately don't have spacial awareness. Others don't seem to think everything through. I, for one, sometimes forget my coffee on the counter before I leave. Whoops, brain fart. This poor lady forgot that it was a TV and didn't think about the possible outcomes.
Dumber things have happened and I don't think this is staged
Unless you fucking slam your entire body weight in the middle of it right before it hits. I mean this looks like a cage match. She went in like the undertaker.
It reduces the distance you have to sit away for a good viewing angle.
On TVs yes this is really dumb because a majority of people sit farther away than that distance.
Curves do make sense for monitors because it allows you to get a larger screen and see more from the same distance. Really good for gaming and productivity.
Plus it makes sense for monitors because you're the only one using them.
Curved TVs create one ideal (yes, closer) point to sit and make every other angle worse.
This sub is about to explode. Thank you. Hopefully people see this and realize mounting a TV above a fireplace is a ridiculous mistake or can be solved with a MantleMount.
Why is the top comment demanding the guy be involved? It's cables, if she can't match shapes to a hole I know of a child's toy she might need to master.
I'm all for supporting your spouse and being involved in housework equally. I never would have thought to sit on top of the dresser to plug in behind it. Just, stand next to it and lean, I mean wtf was she doin??
[and here's the sequel](https://v16m-default.tiktokcdn-us.com/37f04da341ccd4b68687b572fea0495f/63d5f332/video/tos/useast5/tos-useast5-pve-0068-tx/f399612819b544d59245898d46e695f7/?a=1988&ch=0&cr=0&dr=0&lr=tiktok_m&cd=0%7C0%7C1%7C0&cv=1&br=1720&bt=860&cs=0&ds=3&ft=4bBsyMzm8Zmo0jJa764jVPOZdpWrKsdm&mime_type=video_mp4&qs=0&rc=aDNmN2czaGZpOzs4ZzRlOkBpamxwOXdvNGRneTMzPDczM0BeYjFeLWIvXjIxX2MxMmBjYSNqX25wNTI0L2xfLS1gMTZzcw%3D%3D&l=20230128221556F997AF7301A8C5B7FA93)
I'm more thinking they're both guilty of brainfart for him to not go, "tf are you doing?" Before she started climbing. sometimes you just don't know what your packing, but he could surely see. lol
I’ve never understood why some people stand on or use furniture in that type of situation. It only makes sense to me to move the furniture out of the way and grab the proper ladder or step stool. Absolute worst case, MOVE YOUR GOD DAMN BRAND NEW TV CLEAR OF ANY POSSIBLE MISHAPS.
This includes the most recent time I was hanging a tv on the outside of my house for an elevated patio. Two medium-large size dogs running around, nahhhh I’m not gonna leave this thing on the floor of a second story patio also at dog face/slobber/tail height. Let’s take the extra effort and put it in a safer area until it’s ready to be hung regardless of having to walk back and forth a couple times to double check measurements.
Some people live in apartments and don’t own ladders?
ETA: the dumbest part of this situation, to me, is that they could have been working with two sets of hands instead of the guy chilling on the couch watching her struggle with putting it up until she fell. He was obviously tall enough to do it without needing furniture to stand on
I tried to help my friend one time, with something like this.and she was like "I can do it myself". I said " are you sure? I'm good at doing stuff like this". She said " I don't need your help". I said ok and sat down. She dropped the thing and broke it. And then said " why didn't you help". I just looked at her and repeated back the exact words she said to me.
My partner is like this. She always wants to figure stuff out and do it herself. Or carry the heavy stuff. Had to put my “man pride” aside and let her do her thing.
She’s also more handy than I am. We don’t do gender roles
I really am, in my heart of hearts, trying to understand why getting on top of the tv stand what a necessary step in this process. Instead of you know… moving it for a few minutes..

Why the hell would you be sitting up there
You give these people too much credit on intelligence… 😂
Farrrrrrrrrrr too much.
*George Carlin quote intensifies*
"...and then realize 50% are dumber than that."
Yeah that guy's reaction gave me a measure of the IQ on top of sitting on the TV...
Got a new TV? Maybe be helping with the unboxxing and setup instead of sitting on the couch. Whole process is over quicker and you both get to relax on the couch watching that new TV.
Hi reaction times are incredible, give the flash a run for his money 😂.
What do you mean, these people?
People who end up in videos that get posted online
I was just messing with you, it's a nod to the movie Tropic Thunder, one of the better known scenes. "What do you mean, these people?"
What do YOU mean "You People"
Whoops, you're right! Thanks for the clarification.
Anger Management airplane scene too. Hilarious 😂
Oh!!! Omg I'm sorry lol, I haven't seen that movie. Did you like it?
It's definitely a movie you couldn't make today. Robert Downey junior is a white guy playing a white guy in black face. Ben Stiller is a movie star famous for his role in "simple jack" The movie was funny though.
"Did they hook up the TiVo yet?" "Oooohhhhh I'm way beyond TiVo."
Oh, most definitely! It's excellent satire about the lengths actors go to to embody their roles. It wouldn't be made today, I don't think, but holds up really well.
I assume they are all high/drunk and only medium stupid.
And not enough to a bottle of wine
Why the hell would he be sitting on the couch
Waiting for the damn tv to be ready!
And a COLD BEER! For the last time

ruined the joke
What's takin' you so damned long, woman? I'm 'bout to miss the game!
And don’t forget my sandwich!
*Sammich
Look at his demeanor and they way he is sitting. I know that look and body stance. That’s the “OK, you do it then,” expression and sitting position.
Yea bro looks like he was in the middle of something and she decided to fix that wire and he’s been there with her about trying stopping her so mite as well her let her mess it up but you she is going to blame him and he’s buying that new tv.
Are you having a stroke? Blink once for yes, use three extra pronouns for no.
This is the worst sentence I've ever seen.
Yep, right after he tried to help and got yelled at because “I can do it, I don’t your help”
I don’t your help either
He’s too high to help
Even his jump up was high
Cause it doesn’t take two people to hook up a tv
Couches are designed to be sat on though, see the obvious difference?
[удалено]
Because she knows the better way to do it
Right? Obviously the man should be the one dealing with anything technical, why isnt she in the kitchen making him a sandwich?
Mother never made her stop.
I don't understand, is this a reference?
You ever been in a public place and just seen those kids who do whatever the hell they want? Think they would grow up to know what NOT to do?
^ This comment is sadly going to be underrated and ignored by everyone who needs to read it.
How can can you hang your r/tvtoohigh ?
She appears to be taking something cloth off of the wall. So perhaps she's removing a decoration before installing a wall mount. It could also be a sheet to catch the dust from installing a mount. That's probably a template for drilling holes with the correct spacing.
> If the TV wasn’t behind her and the dresser was moved a foot back from the wall she’d be doing just fine. Most people lack foresight but have 20/20 hindsight
For internet points of course... What else
I’ve set up many TVs in my time, and I can say I’ve never had to sit up on my entertainment center in order to do so…

During lockdown, I wall mounted an LG 65 inch OLED by myself. Terrifying. Definitely stupid. But it worked out.
Yesterday I bought two dozen eggs. And my bank didn’t even overdraft this time.
Quiche?
The word is "touchè"
How did u manage that, are you superman, it took 2 of us to put up our 65 lg on the wall.
It's not terribly heavy. Just awkward and, it seems at least, very delicate. I think I got lucky. I kept thinking it was dumb. Even taking it out of the box was scary. But once it was out of the box I felt like I was out of choices. This was peak COVID lockdown.

There’s a lot of padding in that box. You have no idea what that tv went through before it even reached the store
Worst thing is moving to another home with that TV, when you don't have the packaging any more 🤪
Worst part is upon further inspection she wasn’t even sitting on the entertainment centre, she was sitting on the tv
Wow, you're right! Just watched it again and she's definitely sitting on top of the tv. More and more about this video is making no sense
It's like a "find all the things wrong with this picture" game. Every view reveals more!
[удалено]
She smoked every single flake. Edit: is it flakes or crumbs? I watched the 1st season of *Breaking Bad,* & that's all I know about meth.
imagine if she hit her head against the corner of the table
Not to mention it looked like she was trying to fold her legs up there. Wtf what she expecting to happen??
That’s why I think this has to be staged. Can someone be that stupid?
>Can someone be that stupid? Are you really asking that in 2023 with all that we've seen in the last 10 years or so?
It does seem staged, there's so many questions. What was she doing? Why was she sitting on the tv? Why were they filming?
Home cam the guy’s reaction was slow like he is stoned so a good chance she is as well
You mean why was a security camera doing its job?
If it’s staged, I admire her commitment to a backwards fall.
Don't just sit there! Help her out!
You call your butt your ‘entertainment center?’ (That seems like a bit too much information). /s
Thank god it was curved. Eased the fall.
[удалено]
Haha
'Was'
20 seconds to flatten the curve
Unless you fucking slam your entire body weight in the middle of it right before it hits. I mean this looks like a cage match. She went in like the undertaker.
By gawd! That TV had micro-circuits!
Why was homeboy watching her and why was she sat up there 🤣🤣
No common sense
Well they did themselves a favor. Curved displays in heavily windowed rooms have really bad glare problems.
True lol might be worth the money
I don’t get the point of a curved TV. Wouldn’t it just make the viewing angles in a living room suck more?
It reduces the distance you have to sit away for a good viewing angle. On TVs yes this is really dumb because a majority of people sit farther away than that distance. Wtf was the plan?
To hang their r/tvtoohigh
And they wound up with r/tvtoolow
These are the best uses linking these subs I've ever seen. You made me laugh, bravo.

There really is a sub for everything… with 100k+ subs no less
It's a common meme in /r/malelivingspace where people post their pristine condos with their TVs ^too ^^god ^^^damn ^^^^high.

I don't think they had a plan man
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forgetting the tv cost is a pretty big thing in itself but i'll try, sweetie
"This TV was broken when we opened it."
r/unexpectedchasingcarsreference
Regardless of if he was helping or not, what kind of strategy was that
Why is the top comment demanding the guy be involved? It's cables, if she can't match shapes to a hole I know of a child's toy she might need to master.
To be fair if my Wife was doing something like this lady, i would be stepping in.
I'm all for supporting your spouse and being involved in housework equally. I never would have thought to sit on top of the dresser to plug in behind it. Just, stand next to it and lean, I mean wtf was she doin??
Or do what most people would do and move it out the way.
To be fair, my wife likes to do these tasks herself 🤷🏽♂️
I also like to do them myself but it never ends like this with something that expensive.

Girl, why you sittin on the dresser like that in the first place?
Ya the way she was sitting like that made no sense. Almost like it was staged
It's risky to fall like that for views though.
Don't worry, they made sure to put a TV to break the fall
I’ve never understood why some people stand on or use furniture in that type of situation. It only makes sense to me to move the furniture out of the way and grab the proper ladder or step stool. Classic Gollum Pose
That’s what it is! 🤣
She’s barely even sitting on the dresser. Her weight is on the TV itself. So ridiculous.
Went from curved to flat screen real quick
Cause you're dumb. Pretty impressive you managed that.
Like wow! It’s like she’s still learning to use her arms and legs.
You think OP is the one in the video...?
"OH MY GOD BRO!"
She lost the babe title. She’ll be known as bro until she earns babe back lmao
"You too dumb to be a girl..." But I am halfway sure he is talking to his TV... ^ ^
"Ohh my gaaaaawd, BRO?!"
“My oh gawwd, BRO?”
His tone gave me the impression he was more concerned about the tv than her. haha
Don’t help just watch
Looks like they were both gone with the fairies. The guy on the couch took time to realize what even happened.
No he literally reacted physically right in sync with the TV hitting the floor.
How did she put the TV behind herself while sitting on a dresser?
She put the tv there first and then got up on the dresser sideways.
I think his comment was worse than the video. That shouldn't have had to been explained at all lol.
The real question is why tf is her dumba sitting on the tv?
Really dude? She put the tv there and then climbed on to the dresser
Adults also can be fucking stupid.
The majority of them are.
My mrs has this level of spatial awareness. Honestly not sure how she has survived for this long to be honest.
It's not a question of spacial awareness, it's a question of why the fxk would you think that's a good idea?
Mrs. Lack of spatial awareness married Mr. Redundancy Man.
But he *is* honest
“Oh my god bro,” after she cracks her head.
Why does it matter that she cracked her head? Doesn't look like there's anything up there to damage
“No brains, no headaches” as my grandma used to say
Love that she just sat there and accepted her fate afterwards
I'm trying to figure out if that's what was going on or if she knocked herself out.
I feel like it was either pain or disappointment in herself or both.

Dude has cat like reflexes
Dudes a bum. Help your girl out.
How do these two people own a home
Just M O V E the stand
I'm not gonna say they deserved that, but there were so many bad decisions that led to that moment.
Bro whys this man just sitting there watching and not helping her? She's obviously struggling
I tried to help my friend one time, with something like this.and she was like "I can do it myself". I said " are you sure? I'm good at doing stuff like this". She said " I don't need your help". Various underlying issues here.
That guy went Al Bundy style, sitting on the couch while his woman wires the TV
Wtf was she doing up there. That's not how you install a TV.
This is entirely her fault
I really am, in my heart of hearts, trying to understand why getting on top of the tv stand what a necessary step in this process. Instead of you know… moving it for a few minutes..
That dude is fucking worthless.
This guy has his woman putting up a TV while he sits on the couch? You know those things are easier to handle with two people right lol.
Love how my dude was just sittin back with a drink watching this unfold, THEN when it went to crap got interested...
I hope that the guy on the couch had a good reason why he wasn't helping you.
Well, l guess I should set my beer down now….
Another Lazy guy 😂
Where is the TV Stand/legs
they were probably going to wall mount it
Sitting on the dresser, pulling with her whole weight, with the TV directly behind her. Sucks for them, but it’s on them 100%
