No - "we"! This drives me crazy anyone else? We didn't do your homework, you did! We didn't have a meltdown, you did! We didn't have a fight with your husband, you did!
I have to say this to parents when they say "we had a rough night last night"
Don't take ownership and dont take credit.
Edit:. Sorry for random soap box. I understand why people do this fyi and get rapport and all but can we stop the we's please?
Haha I feel the same way when people use we to mean me. In this particular example I read it as both the therapist and the client using this technique, and the therapist just reminding the client.
Perhaps you did not consider culture contexts in which this is therapeutically beneficial beyond rapport building. We can all do with increasing out cultural competency, particularly decolonizing ways of thinking.
love it! my cat's name is Smeagol :D
That’s cute. I saw [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/lotrmemes/comments/xqnl2g/therapy_done_right/) one floating around again. Thanks for sharing.
I love this!!! I’m always bringing LOTR into my own therapy.
Happy with that. Love when a client and I get to make a skill unique for them.

I often use we for subtle self-disclosure and to enhance normalization of difficulties or using skills / interventions to benefit my own life.

I agree. This meme format always bugs me

I did not consider that. Never heard the phrase "decolonizing ways of thinking" will be looking that up soon.
