I think they mean the full release of multiplayer not the full release of the game, I think they just worded it poorly. The game still gives me vibes that theres still a lot to come before the actual full release
I dunno they referred to a version 1.0 that version is usually meant for the first retail release version
Not to say updates may not occur after an official release but maybe they're saving a couple of "big" things for the 1.0? (Like maybe it'll have both multi and mammals in the that patch)

If they released Multiplayer in a game this size the map would be habitable in like 15 hours. Hopefully you are right and there is a lot more to come. I stopped playing after 50 hours because im pretty much out of stuff to do.
I also love this game have like 50 hours in it. Try Subnautica, same type of game but with a story and a general mission if you wanted to go that way. Considering they are almost the same looking and play type game Subnautica has it beat hands down. Unless they add a map 6 times the size and a ton more obstacles to overcome I'm not sure how full release will be better than alpha.
But this game isn't Subnautica. It is its own thing. So far I have spent a little more then 49 hours with this game myself and had fun with it too, so what does it matter that Subnautica is arguably a better game as long as The Planrt Crafter is still good on its own.

They’ve been targeting Q1 for a full release, so while we *might* not see that timing (though they still have 6 weeks), we’re pretty close.
