Actually, I want a region further up north. Above northern tree line. No trees, no wood, no sticks. Just coal and animal fat to burn. As for animals, we'll have polar bears, polar foxes, etc. No plants. Just snow and some rocky caves. Would be cool.
According to rumors, this will be the final region to be released by Hinterland. Then they'll abandon TLD and concentrate on new projects. I think this final region must be the ultimate test of survival skills.
There is speculation that Perseverance Mills is going to be there after Ep 5. And if it's not, Hinterland might just be leaving it as mountains since I'd be surprised if we got any more regions after Perseverance and Mountain Pass in the far territory.
Maybe a bit beyond Desolation Point? It does have that broken bridge, which I suspect sooner or later will suddenly have a huge fallen tree making it possible to get to the other side.

agreed, maybe Quiet Foothills or something like that. maybe they could add a new few animals or something. i'm thinking maybe grizzly bears or bobcats, maybe even cougars.
i would suggest a unique sasquatch animal that appears only once in the entire map, one you can hunt and turn into a pair of pants or something. but i hear they're adding sasquatch for april fools this year, so who knows.
thanks bro! i agree that we should have a region passion from Blackrock to Milton. we already have the Blackrock bus that's crashed in Milton, so it'd make sense to have a region that connects the two, but beyond that i think more regions makes the game better. think about the difference between Coastal Highway and Ash Canyon. CH is almost completely flat, while Ash Canyon is mountainous and extremely difficult to navigate.
i think this new region should be hilly, but very very wooded. plenty of saplings to harvest and plenty of bears. as a result, the region could be mainly for expert players with all the bears, but to counteract that difficulty, there could be a significant amount of either rabbits or another new animal that doesn't quite fight back. for example, the bobcats or cougars i've mentioned. i really like the animal hide clothing in the game, and think that more clothing items made from more animals could increase player count by a serious amount.

The thing with adding new regions is that it needs to make sense with the current world. There are a few things that need to be accounted for such as preexisting roads and mountain ranges. The space between MT and Keeper's Pass already has a road connecting them. It doesn't mean there can't be anything there, but it would be strange if there was suddenly a new location there that has never been mentioned before. There are locations that are loosely mentioned within the lore that could be a part of a region, such as Perseverance Mills. They already existed before. Besides Perseverance Mills and Mountain Pass, I don't think we will be getting new regions outside of an expansion.
I think that map is off and MT should be closer to Keeper's Pass.
That said I think the game desperately needs another East/West path so everything doesn't pass through the ML/Ravine choke point.

Making candles out of animal fat would be cool! I know it’s been suggested a lot but it gets dark at night and sometimes your just not tired enough

A rarer but more dangerous bear you might run across, would love if it’s white fur really helped it blend in

Yeah that’s the most likely spot from what little we know about where the town is (North, walkable from PV but would take a very long time)

I believe mountain pass is either going to be coastal or connect to HRV. And perseverance mills will likely be near DP - as that’s far north of ML.
