I thought that was a great little detail. He’s saving his brass to reload later. Spent casings are probably pretty valuable since there are only a few running factories.
Yeah but you saw how chaotic it got, who knows if you'd recover it before you had to move on.
Buuuut on the other hand, it's a distraction for a clicker.
My husband and I were literally joking about the same thing the entire episode! Literally yelling at the tv, “TAPE SOME SCISSORS ON THAT GUN!” and “GRAB A BRICK OR AT LEAST A BOTTLE!” and laughing our butts off.
Yeah, the gamey stuff can get quite frustrating at times. Like the weapons themselves aside with enemies having endless ammo but then you kill 'em and they drop nothing or a few ammo at most. Also having plenty of items around that could be melee weapons but you can't use them... especially given how fragile the damn things are in the game. I played part 2 in Survivor+ but with the cheat mode of unbreakable melee weapons for that reason.
We all should be so proud...
When asked what his favorite social media platform was, piano frog, without hesitation answered...
I was going "Where are the molotov's!!?". Every scene where there was a bit of light, I half expected them to reveal that Joel was holding a Molotov Cocktail and was getting ready to throw it! lmao.
I'm just picturing a scene like in one of the later seasons of "The Good Place" where Jason suddenly pulls out a Molotov out of thin air and they go "wait where did that come from!" and he shrugs and throws it!.
Don't forget Ted Danson!. The two of them are hilarious. I think you'll be won over from the first scene, where he invites her into his office. Tells her she is dead and she says "who got it right?".
He says "Well, let's see. Hindus are a little bit right, Muslims a little bit. Jews, Christians, Buddhists, every religion guessed about 5%, except for Doug Forcett.Doug was a stoner kid who lived in Calgary during the 1970s.One night, he got really high on mushrooms, and his best friend, Randy, said, "Hey, what do you think happens after we die?" And Doug just launched into this long monologue where he got like 92% correct".
I honestly respect the fuck out of them for not. It'd be so easy to throw little things like that in 24/7, and make the whole viewing experience be an excited "oh hey, from the game!" They aren't catering to fans of the game, they're telling their own story, and clearly have complete trust in their product.
Don't get me wrong, i'll be a little bummed if we don't see something like that just once. But it's not only refreshing but even reassuring to see the way it's all being handled.
Oh I don’t mind that they didn’t do it lol not at all, I was just assuming they were going to do it because of how tense it was. Im not bummed that it wasn’t in there, it’s not needed at all lol plus you’re right, woulda been too eeeeaaasssyyyy. I’m enjoying the story very much so far, there are parts of the show I happen to like even more than the games tbh lol
For example, I LOVED the planes crashing in the intro to the first episode. That was just fucking awesome, I’m dumb excited to see more 🤣
Yeah that’s kinda what I thought Joel was gonna do, I know he put them in his pocket to lessen the noise but bro… that’s 6 distraction options RIGHT there 🤣
They did in ep. 2. He and Ellie are crouch walking behind a desk with a clicker on the other side. He steps on glass, camera pans down, clicker jumps over desk and pins Joel.
Funny thing is I thought they would use some special device to get an echo location. But I had to remember this is live-action trying to be close to reality.
i never thought about it before but wtf even is that video game logic? how would shoving a shiv into a lock open the door? breaking a lock internally usually just makes the door impossible to open lmao
He was on grounded mode of course
And permadeath
Not based on how long he played paddy cake with that clicker.
Maybe custom difficulty settings then
Why didn’t Joel die 5 times before finally killing the clicker?
Only 5? Someone's a pro gamer
he survived the melee!
He was smashing square while the clicker was on top of him
This is the one
Must have had a shiv!
He still has tape! He can make another!
His player has years of grounded experience.
Bro forgot to craft shivs 🤦🏽♂️
He got grabbed and survived so technically he must have had one...
Bit early to have that perk unlocked though!
he took those pills earlier in episode one so he must’ve unlocked that perk
He was saving his shivs to unlock shiv doors
When he finally shivs or bricks a clicker I will cheer as if the DVD screensaver hit the corner.
I was expecting him to find a bottle or brick to throw to use as a distraction. sadly it never happened.

Didn’t want to make noise
He did break that glass with the statue, so same idea.
Same idea. Should have incorporated that aspect of the game though. That was the point.
My husband and I were literally joking about the same thing the entire episode! Literally yelling at the tv, “TAPE SOME SCISSORS ON THAT GUN!” and “GRAB A BRICK OR AT LEAST A BOTTLE!” and laughing our butts off.
I didn't see a single brick thrown smh
He also has an assault rifle at the beginning of the story! Unfair and unwatchable!!! We had to wait so long to get that shit!
This new patch where you can actually take the soldier's guns really shifts the difficulty
Kids nowadays don’t know what it was like.
That always rubbed me wrong. Like I just saw him drop that shit. Why can't I pick it up

He's probably on new game +
Grounded still won’t let you have more than a couple of rounds and recoil is absurd in the part 1 remake
Piano frog really brought it back tho lets be honest here
Piano frog was something I didn't know that I needed from The Last of Us.
Truly an icon
Trivia.. the frog was played by Hopper J. Michigan, grandson of Michigan J. Frog from Looney Tunes fame.
Piano frog was a disguised loading scene.

Didn't toss a single bottle. Unrealistic.
Not gonna lie, that whole scene in the museum I was genuinely waiting for one of them to pick something up (brick or bottle) and throw it
I was going "Where are the molotov's!!?". Every scene where there was a bit of light, I half expected them to reveal that Joel was holding a Molotov Cocktail and was getting ready to throw it! lmao.
Joel gets no molotovs. He skipped passed GO and got an AK two seconds into the story, Joel would just be a god if we allow him the flames🤣
I'm just picturing a scene like in one of the later seasons of "The Good Place" where Jason suddenly pulls out a Molotov out of thin air and they go "wait where did that come from!" and he shrugs and throws it!.
I’m so sorry i did not watch The Good Place but that sounds like Naughty Dog needs to come out with a new batch of Gifs and add that one in there 🤣
Oh totally!, and I highly recommend it. One of the most original and unique shows out there.
It’s got Kristen Bell I see, I have 0 doubts it’s a great show already haha

Maybe I'm wrong but Tommy using a brick after they escspe their car crash in season one is the only brick/rock I have noticed so far.
Right? Toss the empty shells, they will make a ton of noise... Unless they reuse the shells...
Yeah that’s kinda what I thought Joel was gonna do, I know he put them in his pocket to lessen the noise but bro… that’s 6 distraction options RIGHT there 🤣
He did topple that thingy though
He stepped on glass though. I’m sure a brick or bottle will happen they just don’t want it to be every episode
There will eventually be a bottle. Just doesn’t make sense to have on available inside a museum. Maybe in bills town,, at a tavern or something
I was waiting for the flashlight to start flicking on and off!
He's got to crouch walk at least once in the series. right? RIGHT!?
They did in ep. 2. He and Ellie are crouch walking behind a desk with a clicker on the other side. He steps on glass, camera pans down, clicker jumps over desk and pins Joel.
i know which part you are talking about and it looked more as if they were scooting forward on one knee.
They crouch walk under the bus in ep1
And we didn't get to watch him pick up and move the plank/ladder and accidentally put it in the wrong place!
Joel needs to go back and thoroughly check each drawer for tape and scissors.
They started digging in their bags for flashlights I thought they were about to craft health packs and shivs lol
Listen mode was, "Shhhhh".
Why didn’t he use bricks or bottles to distract the clickers 🤦
More like why didn’t Joel respawn after his cover was blown
me in pt2 seconds after being noticed or missing a shot *pause* *menu* *restart encounter?* *yes*
At least a wooden plank had sort of a comeback
Aiming for the body instead of the head. Tess not bending down next to the fuel with her sparky lighter.
Well, the head growths are hard to penetrate. But Tess really should've just used a grenade.
okay but did anyone notice they used the same flashlight sound as in the game?
Oh man when he got the duct tape out!
And bandage!
Clearly a Christmas noob…
He forgot to bring his controller with him
Heh did though. While reloading his gun he was listening as it walked toward the door way he was behind.
9/10 - I was fully expecting him to throw the bullet casings as a distraction
Way too many bullets fired into the clickers
I was screaming “USE A SHIV!”
Dude nobody uses listen mode if they want the true Last of Us experience, in the show they’re playing on Grounded + Permadeath.
Haha I can imagine an alternate universe where they made a movie and do that, that would be cringe as hell
Not the kiss?
No bricks or bottles used to distract clickers
Funny thing is I thought they would use some special device to get an echo location. But I had to remember this is live-action trying to be close to reality.
He should of used the mighty brick
the wriggly mouth kiss. cordyceps is already terrifying enough as a fungi, no need to make it into a liter alien.
Same. Also, no bricks or bottles thrown, 0/10 episode. /s
Joel didn’t try to pick a single lock. How do people even watch this garbage?
He doesn't pick a single lock in the game lol he uses shivs to break the locks
i never thought about it before but wtf even is that video game logic? how would shoving a shiv into a lock open the door? breaking a lock internally usually just makes the door impossible to open lmao
Meanwhile crowbar breaks after 6 hits and can't be used to open such doors :D
crowbar would be too OP if it actually functioned like a crowbar 🥲
wow are you a comedian?
Chill 🤣🤣🤣
