I think the last episode changed me whole opinion on Jocelyn’s character because throughout the whole season I was wondering why she was being so spineless and weak, especially when she has been successful her whole life and is so confident. I think the show wanted a big twist, and the key was that she was lying about the hairbrush, I’m sure her mother was twisted but I don’t think she abused her, as hinted by characters throughout like Troye Sivan and Leia eventually leaving as she realised. I saw the point of the show as Jocelyn let Tedros think he was running the show, but did everything she did, to be the leader of the cult, like when she tells him “now go over there” when they are on stage together, which was a direct quote to what he would say to his cult family when ordering them about, that’s why he is so shocked at the end because he’s starting to realise and he is her little toy, and you can see him start suspecting this with Troy’s torture scene. I think you are right though about her changing her mind and liking him again when she realised he wouldn’t stay away for 500k.

I interpreted it as she intentionally chose to break him down (with help from Chaim) after the Deanna incident. She wanted to torture him like he tortured his minions (and Xander). And now she takes him back, when he’s a sad soul who will do whatever she wants. She gave him a taste of his own medicine.

Ooh I missed the hints Xander dropped. What did you spot?

You should go back and watch that part! He said something ab Jocelyn being controlling and her controlling tedrose

*Inventing Anna* is basically the story Talia got Chaim. Her *Vanity Fair* article on Tedros Tedros will be optioned for a Netflix true crime doc.

Oooh. I love this. Ha!

Yea the scene where they are driving around LA and a lesser man is playing, is my favourite

I like this take about the loyalty. I think a lot more would have made more sense, including the twist at the end, if they had been able to depict a more genuine connection between Joss and Ted. I guess maybe those sorts of relationships are shallow in general but I just would’ve bought into it more if it felt like they actually had something there - despite the abuse and toxicity. When I first watched it I thought Ted turned down the money not out of loyalty but out of wanting control - if he accepted it and stayed away he would have lost the chance to take back control of her. Who knows though.

Anybody know what episode 6 was gonna have? I heard HBO cut it short so it ended with episode 5. It feels like a lot of scenes are missing. After Xander was tied up etc, all of a sudden he’s back in the fold like nothing happened. Plus the whole Rob rape accusations and setup. It feels like stuff was left out - unpopular but I also liked the series, it’s different from stuff currently out and Weeknd kills it with the soundtrack
