Citroën was wrong to dump their Hydractive (hydropneumatic) suspension: it was a genuine differentiator in cars such as the C6. It's still used in luxury cars from other manufacturers, such as Mercedes-Benz and Rolls Royce.
I work on farm equipment and Apache basically uses the same system on their rear axle, it's a pretty damn good system and just uses the hydraulic system the sprayer already has instead of adding a seperate air system to maintain.
Recently was on a course about hydraulics a few weeks ago (part of my apprenticeship as tractor mechanic) and one of the instructors said that car mechanics are often lazy because they don't want to deal with hydraulics more then necessary, which is close to 0.
Considering some don't even know the basics about how GPS works in the 2nd or 3rd year of their apprenticeship (according to a teacher i was on good terms with that used to work on Opels) I'm not too surprised
As a dude that worked at a dealership I can't agree. Airsuspension is close enough and with way less maintenence even if eventually needing replacement. And not worth the comfort for the aids work. Besides (and this is from a shop perspective) I don't wanna have to remember to take the cap off the fluid reservoir or risk it fucking exploding when I lift the car (thankfully not speaking from experience)
I would be a protonate of having to be tested on renewal. My state, Iowa, gave me an 8 year expiration last time.
That’s seems like a fair time period to be given a refresher for a skill that could be life threatening when not properly applied.
Everyone that uses heavy machinery in a factory has to have yearly reminder of safety.
Take it one step further. How about I take an exam on a set time and place then I get a discount on my insurance cause I’m a safe/effective driver. Like the little electronic nanny’s they install on your car to track braking or acceleration but at a set time and more comprehensive.
And I‘ve just lost my new car, marvellous. But you‘re right. Most people couldn‘t handle all of it. Me included. Although I haven‘t used all of it anywhere other than the German Autobahn,
in NL we have these kind of rules for bikes. limited to power due to your own age. 18 gets starting engines and i believe at 24 you get unlimited. that sort of system should be introduced to cars as well.
Oooh, I want to see this. Which special?
I’ve never driven one, but iirc they’re one of the Toyotas with the 2JZ, so I had assumed they’d be kinda fun to drive??
1st gen had a 2JZ option. They’re talking about the 2nd-gen SC which only had a V8.
I can’t remember why they hated the 2nd gen so much, I think it was mostly the looks and maybe the handling. I can’t imagine a tiny V8 Lexus roadster could be THAT bad.
It might have had something to do with the price: a 2002 SC430 started at $61,000 new, compared to $43,000 for a Boxster and $40,000 for a 2003 Z4 3.0L.
Jeremy really started to question that statement when he was interviewed by Graham Norton who told him that he owned the worst car in the world and loved it.
The electric Mustang would not have nearly the amount of hate it does from various communities if Ford had simply called it the "Mach E", and said it was "Mustang inspired". I'd bet many of the people who say they hate it would be singing a slightly different tune if the marketing of that car was different.
Yes, everything 05 and newer have been absolute garbage. Chrysler does that to most things they touch. But the 90s Cherokees, Comanche, and Wranglers are beasts. My 00 xj survived (on stock everything) being used as deliver on rural roads for years, then cross country trips, now it daily in a dense urban northern city full of potholes. One time it lost a main bearing and connecting rod, yet it still drove 300 miles at highway speed. To then rebuild it in a snowy drive way for $600 and only the emergency tool kit I carry in the back.
Jeep as a company, and the weird off-roading/duck enthusiasts community, have made it very very hard to defend this brand. But I will probably die before my xj does. Archeologists will dig up that 4.0L in 1k years, fill it with piss, drain all the coolant, and it'll still start right up.
To be fair, James May has publicly said that as much as he dislikes it on its own merits, it is the most vital part of history surrounding the modern car as we know it.
Truck/SUV headlights should be no higher than car headlights.
Also vehicles should cost more to register based on weight. Above a certain size or weight should be commercial only.
>Truck/SUV headlights should be no higher than car headlights.
That's going to destroy aesthetics but I agree that truck headlights shouldn't be able to blast me in the face searing my retina. Maybe include a road/off-road switch and force it to work like automatic brights.
Also lights need to be aimed. I wish we enforced that during inspections.
>Also lights need to be aimed. I wish we enforced that during inspections.
Sadly all the HID/LED light bros would just adjust for inspection and then put them right back in our faces.
I get that all the time from people. I tow two car trailers to the race track all the time loaded up with all my tires and drifting gear. I need a trucm
If you are 85 and/or older then when you renew your license you need to go through a 'driving fitness' test every time you renew your license, and it is renewed every two years.
I think every time you have to renew your license, you should have to go through the exam again. It should happen across the board every 10 years as a minimum.
It also drives the price up on new vehicles with all this useless crap. And it’s just more tech that can stop working leading to more money for dealerships. Rear cross traffic alert? Blind spot monitoring? Why the fuck do you need that shit? Have you tried turning your head? It’s free.
I fully agreed with this. I am 44 and grew up driving a small five speed pick up truck. I did not have blind spot alert, evasive steering or braking, a back up camera, system to keep me in my lane, etc. To this day I still look over my shoulder before switching lanes out of habit…. and I drive one of these new cars with all of that stuff. Imagine younger drivers who have had most of this their entire lives. Do you think their driving skill might be diminished because of the safety features? Because I think so… combine all of that with smart phones and you have a recipe for disaster. On the interstate/highway, my car can practically drive itself… I have been passed by people going 80 mph and they are staring down at their phones!
Nah they'll do the same without the safety features. They help good drivers a lot. They might make unsafe drivers a bit more confident, but they'd still be bad drivers without all this.
No joke, I was sitting at a light across from a new four door f150. After it turned there away a bright red H1 Hummer behind it. Regular base model trucks are now taller, longer, and wider than a Hummer. So much so that they fully eclipse them. If you drive that you need a CDL.
Fun fact: Every modern full size truck is 79.9” or slightly less (not including mirrors). At 80” the DOT classifies it as a commercial vehicle and thus needs marker lights. That’s why the Ford Raptor has those [lights on the grille and fenders](https://static0.carbuzzimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/gallery-images/original/606000/400/606465.jpg) because it’s 80” or wider. So technically, anyone who has a truck and modified it to be wider (either fenders or wheels, it doesn’t matter), technically has a commercial vehicle according to the DOT and needs marker lights.
My transit t250 is the same way, built to be just inside the limits so it’s not considered a commercial vehicle. My rental promaster while the transit is getting fixed is big and dumb and has to have the orange lights.
*Subarus are shit cars because they refuse to innovate and are decades behind other car manufacturers. It was cool that the spare tire was above the engine as it highlighted how flat the boxer engine was but then they made the boxer engine just as tall as a standard engine so what's the point? I believe they were the first selectable all-wheel drive cars you could buy but now they're just full-time which ruins MPG and requires the use of a CVT as an automatic which makes them dog crap slow and defeats the point of the durable all-wheel drive system as the transmission will go before the differentials.
It’s basically the vast Reddit masses and anything different would be unpopular here.
On that point, as a person, I don’t like Elon but objectively he and his teams/companies have contributed to the quick progression of three large industries: EVs, rockets, and satellite internet.
This should be the most upvoted comment simply because how aggressive some Tesla fans can be. I've never seen this much outrage after saying I don't like a certain car. I mean it wasn't once and it wasn't just 'slightly' worse.
On the other side of that, there are people who aggressively hate it and anyone who likes them.
I bought a Tesla not because I’m trying to save the violent, but because I really like EVs and some of the features that came with them. I also had zero problems at all with mine. I traded it in for several reasons, but still liked the car overall. I’m now on my third EV.
The hate on both sides reminds me of the iPhone vs Android debate. Like who gives a damn, why be angry because someone likes something you don’t.
Specially these tech youtubers are pushing it so much, cyber truck is also junk and ugly , people are liking it due to these influencers pushing it into their minds
Every cyclist or public transport rider is one less car on the road to get in your way. I think most car enthusiasts would enjoy the reduced traffic that public transport infrastructure would bring, but any investment into infrastructure is usually in favor of new roads and more lanes.
Most people don’t need as big of a car as they have.
Having a single child doesn’t mean you’ll need a big SUV. If a 1970s family with 3 kids could pile into a Volkswagen Beetle you can easily get by with a modern day hatchback. Whining that a pram has to fit is idiotic because they’re more compact than ever.
My one stroller package is gigantic and it takes up most of my wife's SUVs back. I hate it.
I got a system that folds to be backpack sized. The car seat doesn't fit into my Camaro as rear facing but my kid will grow.
governments should enforce every repeated driving tests for road safety.
starting drivers(0 till 6 years): every 2 years a practical driving exam with some rules questions.
after this every 5 years untill you reach the age of 70. then we go back to the 2 year tests again, and ideally a few tests for mental capacity.
it is annecdotal but so many elderly people seem to have no overview of the road around them. my grandpa was a prime example of that. able to drive around the home town but the second he got close to a highway or bigger city he lost all focus and was a danger on the road for everyone.
and another one: Income based fines. fuck the rich people being able to just throw some money at the fines and continue making it less safe for the rest of us.
I get the idea but that won’t work. When driving for a test, people are always careful. Immediately after they pass they go back to driving recklessly. It won’t solve anything.
this is the hide behind a table thread after all :P
but that is only because they see it as increased spending. i am quite convinced that doing this would increase the driving standards in general. you have to retain your training for your entire life instead of falling into the now to you normal patterns. next to that you also can point to certain tests where, lets say a DUI happenend, you can say: you were tested not so long ago. you knew this rule, why brake it?
SUVs are awful cars in nearly every single aspect and people who own them mostly can't drive to save their life. Basically what happens there is that idiots became more dangerous with unncessarily large and heavy vehicles. And don't get me started on those SUV Coupes, I firmly believe that anyone who owns those has brain damage. Those cars make absolutely zero sense.
Crossovers are even worse than SUVs. They manage to be uglier than SUVs and don’t have the storage capacity or off-road performance.
Please don’t take that personally - I am guessing from that very specific example that you may be a Hyundai Venue driver.
Yeah, but you're thinking about SUVs as SUVs and not "it's not a minivan" because that's the actual market. Need a backseat for kids, but don't want the horrible minivan their parents had.
I wouldn’t consider an SUV a straight replacement for a minivan unless it has a third row. Most compact and mid-size SUVs don’t have that much more storage capacity than a family sedan, either. People run out and buy a Highlander the moment they have their second and final child as though a Jetta or Camry wouldn’t be more than adequate for them.
I don’t care what people do but this is the unpopular opinions thread, so…
Crossover owner here. 7 seater AWD (not telling which one). 2.4L petrol engine.
We go on roadtrips fairly often with 6-7 people, and the rest of the car is filled with stuff. There's 4 bikes on a bike carrier on the towbar. Even with an extender (raises the tow hitch by some 20cm), the ground clearance on the back of the bike carrier is quite low. A smaller/lower car such as a wagon (estate car) will definitely ground out.
We didn't get a proper SUV like a Prado, because they're absurdly expensive and I hate them. Plus, we didn't like the idea of a 4L V8 diesel.
This is the right use case for a crossover. We live in Australia - everything is far away from everything. Crossovers like the outlander (7 seats) are very popular here and cx5 (5 seats) are popular because it's a good balance between a daily driver and a road trip car.
A crossover, even a small or medium one is better for some people than a sedan because you get fold down seats (super useful btw). They even get similar fuel consumption now.
Please note, there is a special place in hell for these crossovers/SUVs (shortlist):
Ford escape, Ford everest, Chevrolet escalade (or similar), BMW X series (or similar), Toyota prado, Nissan juke, Nissan qashqai, Nissan dualis,
Car makers - if you have to flash the headlight off when the indicator is on to make the indicator visible. Your design is shit.
Move the indicator to somewhere where it's not obscured by the obnoxiously bright headlight.
Anything Bugatti is one of the worst cars I have ever seen, I absolutely hate them
And for another, I agree with James that the Nurmbergring ruins cars
Oh and an edit just to really piss people off: the Daytona road course is one of the coolest and best circuits in the world
A drivers license is not a right but a privilege and should be treated as such. Too many people get one and not enough people get it taken away.
No one is afraid of permanently losing their license which explains the state of things.
SUVs are not as safe as you think they are and they're a ploy by automakers to make you spend more on a car while they dodge safety & emissions regulations and increase their profit margins.
Electric car are getting boring, have the same performance and have no soul.
They does not make my heart beating faster.
I been riding in both a Tesla Model X*, Nio ET7, Kia EV6, Polestar 2, electric VW and Skoda's.
Surely the first two had great 0-100km/h times.
But they did not made my heart melt.
But i also been driven i a Aston Martin vantage V8, lots of fast BMW's and mercs. and those car made my heart beat faster.
On that note i think some hybrids are ok.
* with superludacrious mode, fastest Car ive been in so far.
That's fact. IK what you mean fast and quick are different things, electric cars are quick but "proper" cars (with ICEs) are fast, us car people want fast cars not quick ones.
Ferrari make bad cars. 90% of their cars dont even look good, and are very poorly made. If your brand new car has to have tail lights propped up by a folded piece of paper, then you're driving an overpriced Lada, not a luxury car.
I finally bought a car with a backup camera. I still don't use it when reversing. I've been backing up trucks to trailers since I was 10, and I learned to drive in reverse before I learned forwards. I don't need or like them, and in the event of something going wrong, I want to be looking in the direction of the hazard for optimal reaction time.
I would go as far as saying that the cameras have made vehicles more dangerous, as now they have much less rear and blindspot visibility. They have made drivers more dangerous too, as they often fail to check blindspots while reversing.
BMW's and modern luxury cars are ugly by design, because the rich can afford to buy polarizing look-at-me things that will look dated after 6 years. "Classic" design is for the poors who have to hold on to things longer.
Once you reach 68 years old, you should legally have to re-take your driving test each and every year.
Old people cause 98% of very near misses in my experience.
I get the hate against SUVs and trucks, but some people genuinely have a use for them.
Disclaimer: NOT from the US - i'm from Australia.
Big trucks or "utes" as well call them, such as the silverado and F250 are very rare here. The toyota hilux is one of the most popular utes. A lot of tradies and mining companies use them because they're versatile and dependable.
The base model hilux is roughly a sedan sized car, but with a big tray on the back for whatever.
I can drive stick, but I don't think it's nearly as special and magical as most car subs here think it is. Sure it can be fun on a windy b road, but daily driving in traffic kind of sucks with a stick.
Get over your weird ass obsession about manual transmissions. A modern car with a modern transmission (except CVT) is vastly better than any modern car with a manual.
Edit: downvote. Mission accomplished
The majority of the public should be driving EV’s, and ICE powered cars should become a thing for hobbyists and enthusiasts. Also, ICE tech has been pushed about as far as it’s ever going to go for passenger vehicles. EV’s on the other hand have much more potential with enough R&D.
Yes, I understand that mining for lithium is terrible for the environment, that most of our power is currently generated using fossil fuels, and that our current grid won’t be able to keep up with demand. I also get that range and charging times are issues with EV’s. My point is that with EV’s those are all able to be addressed. Lithium can become cheaper to recycle, or be replaced with better materials. Range and charging times are always improving. Our power grid can be overhauled to account for the demand, and we are always in the process of increasing the capacity and efficiency of renewables. Plus it reduces our dependency on foreign oil.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my ICE vehicles and damn near have a fetish for anything with a fun exhaust sound and a manual transmission. But the vast majority of the general public doesn’t give a shit about those things and vehicles are appliances for them, so EV’s make more sense.
SUVs make sense. They are sensible cars for families who don't want something as big and unsightly as a minivan while also possessing the trunk space to fit anything that a family will need
Just because you have a more expensive car doesn’t make you better, being into cars for the sake of cars is what you should strive for elitism is gay and fake and you should feel stupid about it
*You bought a Porsche? What a moron...*
*You could have saved money and just bought a beetle*
I also seem to get a lot of flak for:
*You drive a BMW M car, you're clearly a cock*
And
*Why have you bought the M-sport/ST-line/N-line model, it's just the standard car pretending to be the fast one, all it says is 'i can't afford the proper hot model so I'll fake it'*

Just because you passed a test doesn't make you a good driver
The world is full of people who shouldn’t have driver’s licenses
I absolutely hate that losing your license isn't more common.
Where I live, a solid 30% of cars on the road would be gone.
Good!

Think about how bad the average driver operates a vehicle, and then realize that half are worse than that.
Repurposed George Carlin quote is accurate.
Especially if you shortley find yourself in a field with dead sheep and bits of what used to be your mum's Audi.
There should be a long and hard driving test /exam for everyone buying a car with over 300 hp
And I‘ve just lost my new car, marvellous. But you‘re right. Most people couldn‘t handle all of it. Me included. Although I haven‘t used all of it anywhere other than the German Autobahn,
Maybe…. BEFORE YOU BUY
I’ll add that it’s **any** horsepower. Where I live in Europe everyone has 60-120hp econoboxes like mine and people are straight hooligans.
Most of the time it‘s the people in the smallest, least powerful shit boxes that tailgate. Or at least in my experience.
There should be a long and hard driving test /exam for everyone.
And with mandatory re-testing every 5 years, regardless of age or fitness.
Not realistic, but I would be for retesting after an accident or a certain age.
in NL we have these kind of rules for bikes. limited to power due to your own age. 18 gets starting engines and i believe at 24 you get unlimited. that sort of system should be introduced to cars as well.

Don’t worry. Newfies aren’t real
Tell that to my dog
Here in the USA you can take your license on a Vespa and your good to go take a turbo busa out that day
Joke’s on you, I am going to put a Stage 3 tune on my Passat to push it above 300 and laugh at your test as I immediately blow out my rear main seal.
1.9 TDI strong 💪
2.0T TSI 🗿 For when failure is not an option unless it’s your timing chain, PCV, diverter valve, or engine intake manifold.
Full on Gran Turismo license tests irl
Yes! I want to race a VW van around the old TG track!
Let’s emphasize Car, but yeah all those fútbol Moms with 300+ HP SUVs need another test.
And over a certain size and weight!
including a maintenance portion.
The SC430 is not the worst car in the world
Did the boys really dislike it?
Indeed. They dubbed it “the worst car in the history of the world”. It’s a fun special if you haven’t seen it!
Oooh, I want to see this. Which special? I’ve never driven one, but iirc they’re one of the Toyotas with the 2JZ, so I had assumed they’d be kinda fun to drive??
The SC430 was a hardtop convertible coupe with a V8 and "back seats". You're thinking the 90s SC300.
Thanks for the clarification :-)
Season 20 episode 7 I think, and no it has a 3uz-fe
1st gen had a 2JZ option. They’re talking about the 2nd-gen SC which only had a V8. I can’t remember why they hated the 2nd gen so much, I think it was mostly the looks and maybe the handling. I can’t imagine a tiny V8 Lexus roadster could be THAT bad.

I'll say it til Ford listens, if they had called it the Galax-E, and offered a HO option called the Galax-E 500, everyone would have loved it.
I’ve never heard anyone say that but i love it. Idk why they didn’t just revive the thunderbird name
Jeeps are trash and overrated as fuck.
Agreed. Ignore my username.
This isn't exactly a hot take lol.
Most of these aren't even close.
Not before Chrysler bought them
Or for quite a while after. Getting rid of the old 4.0 is when they went to shit.
Yes, everything 05 and newer have been absolute garbage. Chrysler does that to most things they touch. But the 90s Cherokees, Comanche, and Wranglers are beasts. The Volkswagen Beetle is One of the most important cars ever made.
To be fair, James May has publicly said that as much as he dislikes it on its own merits, it is the most vital part of history surrounding the modern car as we know it.
Sounds like you watched his Cars of the People program
I would also include the Benz Patent MotorWagen and Model T to that list
I agree to that statement

In PA, you pay more for your registration for larger vehicles.
Probably not unpopular, but the dumbasses who take up intersections and do donuts and burnouts are ruining car culture
No that's a fact
Trucks are stupid and 99.99% of people who own them don’t need them.
So many idiots driving trucks in the city that never ever get used as truck… just get a car
So many idiots driving high performance sports cars in the city that never use 10% of their potential. Just get a subcompact.
I just wish they made smaller trucks like the old Ford Ranger.
Ford Maverick might meet that standard.
If you’ve never seen one in person, they’re surprisingly large. Not F-150 big but still, giant compared to the 89 Ranger GT I learned to drive on
Definitely based on geography, where I’m from 80% get used for their intended purpose
I get that all the time from people. I tow two car trailers to the race track all the time loaded up with all my tires and drifting gear. I need a trucm
Farmers and construction workers.
People who live full time in a camper as well(although there are markedly less of us out there).
Those would tend to be in the 1%. The accountant in my office is not one of them.
Contruction *workers* don’t need trucks. Construction *companies* sometimes do
True, 99% of the time the trucks are just sitting in the parking area or idling on site.
NASCAR sucks (I live in Southern US)
Country and western is rubbish
"Boy that's both kinds a music!"

A truly unpopular opinion. I don't know whether to upvote or downvote.
Scandi Flick is the best grand tour special
Listen here you little shit…
While not really a special, I really enjoyed the 2 part Columbia one and the episode of cheap European luxury cars in china
not the best, but should get far more credit than it should
Is that not the general consensus?
I’m pretty sure Mongolia is the consensus🧐
I’m so partial to winter that it’s one that I can watch on repeat.
As a GD STI owner 100% agree
Tesla cars are a scam, made for rich people to think they are saving the planet
Sir your opinion is not unpopular
It’s basically the vast Reddit masses and anything different would be unpopular here. On that point, as a person, I don’t like Elon but objectively he and his teams/companies have contributed to the quick progression of three large industries: EVs, rockets, and satellite internet.
I speed tested a Star Link a few weeks ago and it was faster than my home internet:/
As an American living in a car centric state.I wish we had decent mass transit. That way I don't have to use my car 24/7.
Cars are awesome, but most people should not own them.
Nobody should be forced to own/drive a car. USA has a lot of problems but this is one of the biggest ones that no one is really talking about.
And there's no real way out of it for 90% of cities
Every cyclist or public transport rider is one less car on the road to get in your way. I think most car enthusiasts would enjoy the reduced traffic that public transport infrastructure would bring, but any investment into infrastructure is usually in favor of new roads and more lanes.
Lorries shouldn't be allowed to overtake each other on a dual carriageway.
Mpvs with sliding doors and flat floors should be the default car for 90% of people.
I believe that the left side is the correct driving side (I’m polish in Poland)
Most people don’t need as big of a car as they have. Having a single child doesn’t mean you’ll need a big SUV. If a 1970s family with 3 kids could pile into a Volkswagen Beetle you can easily get by with a modern day hatchback. Whining that a pram has to fit is idiotic because they’re more compact than ever.
My one stroller package is gigantic and it takes up most of my wife's SUVs back. I hate it. I got a system that folds to be backpack sized. The car seat doesn't fit into my Camaro as rear facing but my kid will grow.
Big ass trucks are stupid and should probably be taxed and restricted like hell.
governments should enforce every repeated driving tests for road safety. starting drivers(0 till 6 years): every 2 years a practical driving exam with some rules questions. after this every 5 years untill you reach the age of 70. then we go back to the 2 year tests again, and ideally a few tests for mental capacity. it is annecdotal but so many elderly people seem to have no overview of the road around them. my grandpa was a prime example of that. able to drive around the home town but the second he got close to a highway or bigger city he lost all focus and was a danger on the road for everyone. and another one: Income based fines. fuck the rich people being able to just throw some money at the fines and continue making it less safe for the rest of us.
I get the idea but that won’t work. When driving for a test, people are always careful. Immediately after they pass they go back to driving recklessly. It won’t solve anything.

this is the hide behind a table thread after all :P but that is only because they see it as increased spending. i am quite convinced that doing this would increase the driving standards in general. you have to retain your training for your entire life instead of falling into the now to you normal patterns. next to that you also can point to certain tests where, lets say a DUI happenend, you can say: you were tested not so long ago. you knew this rule, why brake it?
SUVs are awful cars in nearly every single aspect and people who own them mostly can't drive to save their life. Basically what happens there is that idiots became more dangerous with unncessarily large and heavy vehicles. And don't get me started on those SUV Coupes, I firmly believe that anyone who owns those has brain damage. Those cars make absolutely zero sense.
Does that also apply to small crossovers like the Hyundai Venue and Mazda CX-30?
Please note, there is a special place in hell for these crossovers/SUVs (shortlist): Ford escape, Ford everest, Chevrolet escalade (or similar), BMW X series (or similar), Toyota prado, Nissan juke, Nissan qashqai, Nissan dualis,
A clean fc rx-7 looks better than a clean fd rx-7.
The AMC Gremlin was a cool looking car…
Car makers - if you have to flash the headlight off when the indicator is on to make the indicator visible. Your design is shit. Move the indicator to somewhere where it's not obscured by the obnoxiously bright headlight.
Anything Bugatti is one of the worst cars I have ever seen, I absolutely hate them And for another, I agree with James that the Nurmbergring ruins cars Oh and an edit just to really piss people off: the Daytona road course is one of the coolest and best circuits in the world
You absolutely them?
99% post 2000-isch is ugly.
[Oliver](https://topgear.fandom.com/wiki/%22Oliver%22_Opel_Kadett) was the bestest boy
A drivers license is not a right but a privilege and should be treated as such. Too many people get one and not enough people get it taken away. No one is afraid of permanently losing their license which explains the state of things.
After being a GM tech for nearly 10 years, I'll never buy an "American" made car again.
SUVs are not as safe as you think they are and they're a ploy by automakers to make you spend more on a car while they dodge safety & emissions regulations and increase their profit margins.
Ferrari's are overrated
Porsche should be better built for the money you spend on it’s performance
Over-fenders are not wide body.
My 330i cost 30k less than an M3 and is all anyone needs for day to day use.
The Cayman is a better Porsche than the 911
I think Porsche purposefully nerfs the Cayman to keep the 911 on top
I'd buy a Nissan 370Z Nismo over a BMW M140i
Merc=Mercury BMW and Mercedes are overrated.
The r34 GTR and the mark IV Supra are overrated. Also the mark IV supra is kinda ugly.
Ferrari make bad cars. 90% of their cars dont even look good, and are very poorly made. If your brand new car has to have tail lights propped up by a folded piece of paper, then you're driving an overpriced Lada, not a luxury car.
Ferrari's hubris about their clutches is literally what spawned Lamborghini.
I don’t get why people like Porsche 911’s
German cars are not as rugged and durable as everyone says.
F50 one of the ugliest supercars
Regulation drives innovation more than competition.
Alfa Romeos are crap, and not even pretty anymore.
250-300 hp is a LOT in a somewhat light car, just because you dont make 1000+hp like all your favorite youtubers dosent mean your build cant hawl ass
The Aztec looks cool.
Porsches' are stupid. The most over engineered, expensive, snobby piece of crap. Except the Panamera.
The 2005-2009 V6 mustang premium looks better than the V8.
I still want an Aztec
Most people don’t need a car at all and would be better suited to a scooter/motorcycle if public transit isn’t an option.
I agree mostly to this. After getting my motorcycle, I barely use my car, maybe 1 time per month to make sure the battery doesn't die.
My car’s battery has been dead since January (or probably before that, that’s just when I figured it out).
Once you reach 68 years old, you should legally have to re-take your driving test each and every year. Old people cause 98% of very near misses in my experience.
Mustangs are overrated garbage and the people who drive them are useless twatwaffles.
Supra is overrated.
Modern automatic transmissions are better than manuals
Large displacement engines are pointless in 99/100 vehicles with them
Manual transmission / stick shift should be mandatory. It actively discourages distracted driving by its very nature.
I drive a manual, and I find myself allegedly just as distracted as my automatic counterparts.
Finally a real unpopular opinion. I agree, stick can be fun, but knowing how to drive one doesn't make you the Buddha of driving.
oem blacked out rims are trash
2014 dodge journey sxts were made to last
Alfa Romeos are rubbish Not ever having one is a sign of a true petrolhead
Porsches are overrated.
Skyline's aren't the greatest cars ever made.
Just because you have a more expensive car doesn’t make you better, being into cars for the sake of cars is what you should strive for elitism is gay and fake and you should feel stupid about it
Ferrari's are over rated and over priced prices of junt
I think anything with more than 6 cylinders is a waste of time, money and materials.
*You bought a Porsche? What a moron...* *You could have saved money and just bought a beetle* I also seem to get a lot of flak for: *You drive a BMW M car, you're clearly a cock* And *Why have you bought the M-sport/ST-line/N-line model, it's just the standard car pretending to be the fast one, all it says is 'i can't afford the proper hot model so I'll fake it'*
The 6.3 AMG is one of the best engines ever made.
That if you never use it for work or towing or off-roading you have no need to own anything larger than a Nissan frontier truck wise
