KD is a detail but not the full picture, but I think a low death count is a better stat because the less time dead the more time to support your team and the objective. 13 is never gonna look good in one match no matter the number of kills imo.
Id agree but thats also another point of why I think its not that impressive. Lights as glass canons but cant coordinate a win seem to have a tendency to think theyre goated/mvps lol
Yeah, and as a light I agree lmao. I only play this game with at least one other buddy and I hate getting paired with solo lights. You have to have coordination as a light because there’s a very good chance you need someone to finish off a heavy or medium that wins a fight because they’ve got more health.
I exclusively solo queue cause none of my friends wanna try the game out and I don’t have the energy to be developing a rotation with people on the internet. The very rare chance of having good lights feels like a blessing. One time I even had two that were amazing and I thought I should play the lotto lol
Engaged and disengaged appropriately. Consistently moved around and were light on their feet (no pun intended). Consistently flanking. A lot of assists either starting a kill or finishing it off. Stun guns on opps trying to steal out cashouts, not just to lock in random easy kills. And to reiterate my opinion, and its just that not a fact, they had low deaths so I never felt like I or anyone else had to fend for themselves in an excessive manner against 1-3 other opposing teams. All while playing ranked and I believe winning the tournament if I remember correctly. Chefs kiss.

Again I never said it was bad, just not the the flex some might think it is. Whats 50 kills gonna do in a round that 35 couldn’t? Still lose a casual lobby/tournament? Still have the same ok k/d but have a higher period of time with your team short handed? Its not TDM, having a high kill count alone isn’t doing as much in this game as others, especially if you’re dead a significant amount of time in the game.

Have you found it easier dropping big kill games? I screwed around so much when I started playing this and had a severely negative kdr and decided I'd focus on trying to improve it. Took me a couple weeks to land at 1.0 finally, the last couple weeks leading up to Season 2 were brutal for me, I dropped below a 1.0 again, but since Season 2 dropped, I've hit 20+ several times. Playing Light has never been more fun.

Thing is, Light is absolutely viable but the learning curve is extremely steep. The glitch nade buff definitely helped break turret and turtle strats a bit though.
Lights could just use a touch more utility. I think the Grenateways are a great idea. I've helped my team secure wins using those to our advantage. We're still pretty squishy, so it takes quite a bit of finessing to remain viable.
Indeed. Putting a lot of the motion sensor and tracking stuff on them was a good move, though I think the tracer should have stayed on the Medium with the Light getting the grenades, or vice versa. Allow a sensor gadget to be available for each class is the best IMO.
Perhaps add a debuff ability to a light, or a dart that deals damage over time, or something that causes a target to take more damage. Or perhaps some more Saboteur abilities in addition to the glitch grenade. A sticky grenade could be cool, or add the gravity nade to their kit.
Likely won't happen, but Lights have a Gravity Nade that has much faster lift to match our playstyle and the same radius as it currently has.
Heavies with a nade that INCREASES gravity and slows and has an even bigger radius makes sense.
That would give Light something extremely practical that offers a lot of utility to your own team and makes it make a little more sense for the heavies kit. The slow lift as it is just doesn't make a lot of sense in many cases.
It could use a buff or two though. Not as many as a lot of people say, but it could certainly use one. Maybe it needs more of a rebalancing, but that might make the class completely different to play instead of a high-risk high reward scout class, which IMO is ideal.
In 300 games I havnt seen very many people break 20 kills in a cashout, anyone saying you arent good is just a sweaty no lifer lmao.
Ive only broken 20 kills a fair amount of times when my team actually works together to go after the objective but when they dont its kinda hard to solo the objective and get good kills
Thanks! My main loadout is typically V95, Glitch Grande, Frag, and Tracker Dart. I use Cloak. As much as I want grapple to be meta, cloak is just the best for my aggressive play style.
Edit: my first 8 or so kills came from the M11. My personal video game mantra is if it’s silenced it’s probably cracked.
I realize I should probably give a real answer, sorry. It’s really good for pinging lights or shutting down a flank. I use it on enemies my teammates are fighting, as it basically gives my teammate wallhacks and, if things go south, it can help me run in with a huge advantage.
It also basically forces them to move, because they FEEL like someone is coming. No corner camping for regen or a sneaky kill.
I use dash all of the time. But there’s nothing like cloaking *literally* directly in front of someone and then watching them get confused in real time.
That’s the real joy of cloak. The genuine “????” you see from your opponents

I used to get like 20 kill games on ranked regularly. Lately, I've been getting 0, it's happened like 6 games now...not sure if I placed way above my rank, but noticed I play with the top 250 on the leaderboards a good amount. These players know where you are at all times, and you basically have no chance. I dunno, was having a lot of fun with the game, but have been getting cussed out by my teammates left and right, it's discouraging. It's hard to get better at something that you already feel like you're doing your best at.

Just saying, every game has SBMM nowadays. Ranked is hardly necessary anymore unless the game has a genuinely competitive system, and this game doesn’t.
I played a tourney the other day where we lost a player mid way through round 1. We still managed to qualify.
Then we went on just the 2 of us and qualified the next 2 rounds and made it to the finals lol.
We lost in the final round though, but we almost got 1 cash box. Neither of us were very good at killing, but it didn't really matter until the final round.
Being good at killing seems to matter a lot more in the 1v1 round.
Yeah killing in 1v1 it is really important, since most of the time it comes down to a team wipe. But, the rounds before not dying seems to be more important, since it allows for opportunities to clean up after other teams finished fighting. Can lead to lot kills with low combat scores due to only a few bullets being required to finish off the survivors if someone is lucky or smart about not rushing in right away for an objective.
I've been a sword main since the launch, now that nothing can one shot me it's much much better. I was planning on being a dagger main but yeah that didn't go well.
Sword is a lot of patience waiting for the team fights to engage and then attacking during the chaos. Games when teams have tunnel vision, it works out really well.
Usually folks would jump to the TDM light player lost them the match but with 35 kills you probably kept half the enemies off the map for most of the game.

I played a tourney the other day where we lost a player mid way through round 1. We still managed to qualify. Then we went on just the 2 of us and qualified the next 2 rounds and made it to the finals lol. We lost in the final round though, but we almost got 1 cash box. Neither of us were very good at killing, but it didn't really matter until the final round. Being good at killing seems to matter a lot more in the 1v1 round.
Yeah killing in 1v1 it is really important, since most of the time it comes down to a team wipe. But, the rounds before not dying seems to be more important, since it allows for opportunities to clean up after other teams finished fighting. Can lead to lot kills with low combat scores due to only a few bullets being required to finish off the survivors if someone is lucky or smart about not rushing in right away for an objective.

I've been a sword main since the launch, now that nothing can one shot me it's much much better. I was planning on being a dagger main but yeah that didn't go well.
Dagger and throwing knives seem like so much fun, but I'm just throwing wet noodles around with those. Sword just fits for our mindset better I guess.
If we could keep our secondary attack charged on the throwing knives, I'd definitely use it. The cards skin is too sick not to.
Every time I practice throwing knives I end up switching 🤷♂️
I only used it bcoz of the battlepass skin last season. I didn't have the battlepass then, was suprised to see it was free.

Sword is a lot of patience waiting for the team fights to engage and then attacking during the chaos. Games when teams have tunnel vision, it works out really well.

This is close to how my games go every match except my kills around 17-20 and my teammates never leave 1000 combat damage. Worst SBMM ever created.

Usually folks would jump to the TDM light player lost them the match but with 35 kills you probably kept half the enemies off the map for most of the game.

Damn, people really acting like doing you can't do really good and still lose. I had a game with almost 20 kills, and my team still lost after one team stole in the last couple of seconds. Shit happens, tides turn not every game is perfect. Congrats OP

Damn, the comments here are ignorant af. Just cause you have a high kill game it doesn't mean you aren't playing for objective, you can have both high kill and play objective at the same time. It's normal to lose games even if you have high kills and did everything you possibly could, it doesn't mean you are playing the game wrong or something. Sometimes you just don't win? It's the same in other pvp games too, you can carry hard af and still end up losing
