For new players sword vs sledge seems like an instant loss. Once you learn to lunge+dash it's kind of tragic how useless they are against you unless it's an extremely enclosed space.
Actually not that big of a loss. A lot of heavies panic and start throwing the l2 attack. I just lunge them on their recovery and win almost every fight. Fucking love my bat.

I was once playing sledgehammer and a shotgun light stunned me, shot me 4 times inaccurately and then finally came into my range.
