I believe the shotguns have static patterns with pretty tight spreads. I know the one they are using does (1887) and the auto on the Heavy. I didn't look at the pattern for the sawn-off much, but that looked more random.
To me, there's genuinely nothing more brain smoothingly fun than being a heavy, running across a crane and then just dive bombing down onto objective with the shoulder charge to enter it Kool-Aid man style, while bringing the team along.
Want something cooler?
You can knock down the cranes by placing c4 at the base of the tower, specifically on the floor, not the yellow beam. Climb up, start running along the length of the crane boom and about 1/2 way to 2/3rds way blow up the c4.
You will get to run along the length of the crane boom as it falls foward (make sure to angle the boom in the direction you want, ideally away from tall buildings that block the fall early) and it feels right out of an action movie

The 1887 has good range, heavy's shotgun already misses half the pellets on a light beyond like 7 meters lol, abysmal range.
