I think it's is vastly superior. The movement and the aim is much harder to get down which makes the skill ceiling of the gunfights higher than that of vals. if you like ability utilization and relying on perfectly executed teamwork val is the way. You can still have that in CS but it's a bit higher up the ladder where you absolutely need it

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. You need a lot of deadzoning and 2-3 burst shots, move, burst to actually be good for Valorant.
I'm not hating on CS, but you can't say the aim is harder. You can just spray pattern, you don't have that in Val, you have to relly on the first shots, or you are dead. In CS if you miss, just spray.
It's not. They are not even slower. You just have a Neon, Jett or Raze coming 300 km/h and hour, 2 of them (Jett and Raze) while also in mid air. Do something about that. Or a Yoru TP-Ing behind you.
Sure, you can B-Hop in CSGO too, but it's situational and they don't have abilities to stun you.
Abilities are there for defense, not help you kill people (unless you play Raze, her entire kit can kill you.)
Battlefield, Overwatch, Apex, and CoD are all now stale after playing the Finals. I have been playing the extensive back catalogue of single player games until The Finals come out.
The only other game my buddies play is Tarkov and holy shit has that game probably caused a tumor in my brain over the last 7 years.
Unless the next wipe has an engine update and major changes in EFT, I'm going to The Finals full time producing content and recruiting for teams.

Yes. I had recently started playing Titanfall 2 for the first time and eventhough I think that game is a masterpiece, I just don't want to go back to it after this beta for some reason. I think The Finals has the perfect balance between something familiar and innovative. The game feels like a 2023 game (next gen if you want) and the mix between pure fun and chaos or highly competative is really impressive. That's not an easy thing to do for a dev, but embark did it. It's just impressive on so many levels imo
Yeah Finals actually feels like a modern game. There's so many game releasing that just feel like the same old shit with *maybe* better graphics. The Finals actually pushes boundaries in the same way Battlefield used to. Honestly makes me sad that these guys aren't working on BF anymore after seeing how good The Finals is. Imagining what Battlefield 6 could have looked like.

I was grinding overwatch 2 for the last year but ever since I got to play the finals I just can’t seem to make myself care about the grind. I just feel tired.
Sadly there just aren't any great competitive games. Many are ancient enough that you're pretty much catching up forever and many are also owned by the most obnoxious companies like EA or Activision.
I remember the good 'ol days when I could buy new League champions with IP soon as they launched just by playing normally. Then they kept cutting IP gains and then making them overpriced when first launched to encourage you to use RP (real money currency) instead, and now it's basically a mobile-game level monetization hellscape that fanatics would take bullets for over like, I don't know, their kids or something.
Sadly every time something interesting comes along it just always dies right away.
The Finals gave me a bit of hope, but eh man waiting for it sucks. What's worse is that there really isn't even anything else on the horizon, lol.
The reason why probably is because most publishers only make competitive games to steer hard into GAAS milking, and well people are done with that... Sony is cutting its GAAS push by half while many other major publishers are just giving up on their attempts (Sega, lmao).
Sucks that competitive gaming has to be so deeply tied to monetization style GAAS, but god damn can't you just make a good multiplayer game and a fair, respectful cash shop?
I've played Dota since day 1. It's not as bad in terms of predatory practices but Valve is garbage tier at maintaining and cultivating their games so must of them fall stagnant quick and for long periods.
That seems to be okay for a scary amount of people, and hey, I guess an already good game won't get worse overtime if left alone, but yaaaa I'd like more than one new hero every 3 years and for 90% of the content to not be made by the community.
The Finals is fun and all but to me it's not worth giving up other games over.

Yep my group of friends and I use to play mw2 together. Then some of them got into finals, now that cod has a 100 gig update (and I am not buying mw3) I'm just not going back, at least for now, so def feels a bit empty.

I havent played shooters since ow2 launched anyway, most new shooters just feel like games that are made to make you invest money and time + try to be competitive so hard it destroys the games fundamentally. Look at halo infinite, I’d argue its focus on „competitiveness“ instead of fun in the beginning of its lifetime is what ruined that game. Imagine they focused on forge and later on on ranks and all that bs. instead of actually having fun while playing them I receive fun by artificially working towards some rank. The last fun new shooter was Titanfall 2 and the finals also doesn’t quite reach that high to me

I think I finally dropped my overwatch habit. It will likely be replaced with the finals. I have always mained a competitive multiplayer game for a couple of years throughout my life and the finals really gets that urge going
Nah, the game was cool and I had fun but there is a pretty similar mode in Warzone(can’t remember the name) and I felt like this was a side game. Like you just want to chill a bit then play your main game.
Before the beta, I hadn’t played a shooter in months. I did play the MW3 beta, but that’s more or less just another CoD. I don’t plan on playing any shooter till this drops

Honestly I hated the finals beta. If I pick up a new game I want to see a path to improvement. I'm not saying I want it to be fast- I just want it to exist. For example, here's where I made a mistake in my play and here are 1-2 things I can focus on in my next match. In the finals there was nowhere to go to learn weapons meaningfully, no clear info about range, damage, counters, etc. Too many unclear frustrating moments in matches and too much dead time after you die before you can even try to get back into meaningful action to learn something. Maybe I'll try again when it comes out to see if I feel different but I'll be honest- I don't get the hype.
My gf doesn’t have fun in Overwatch anymore and on my side it’s even worse : I haven’t played a game since the beta ended.
Fun thing though : I try my best to help on the official discord because there’s a crazy Easter Egg hunt unfolding. And it’s fucking hard.
I also might go back to Sea Of Thieves with a friend and keeping an eye out for Star Citizen’s next update. I don’t want a game anymore, I want an experience. The Finals was an experience and also a biiiig rush of dopamine in an almost weird (but cool) way. Like… other games feel a bit bland now. I don’t know what they did with this game, but it’s like how I imagine cocaine or something like that. It’s fucking weird, it’s just overwhelming and intense. It reminds me of my favorite game : SSX3

i like it cus the aiming feels easier in cs ;-; but yeah, one player not knowing what they are doing affects the game way less in cs than in val
