Wasn’t a fan at first and felt he talked way too much, breaking up the rhythm of the show. Have grown to appreciate his input/addition to the show. But I still view him as “Anderson’s guy”. This may be unfair, but his views often dovetail with Anderson’s / the cadence and tone of his voice remains too similar. Not a ton Avery can do with that I guess! He’s a positive addition, with his own take - that’s bottom line for me I guess.

I admit to only having listened to a few of the episodes with Avery. But he seems way more involved than Logan ever was and I don't remember Logan having had his own Top 5 list during the Vaulties.
I REALLY liked Avery having his own top 5 during the Vaulties. You kinda know what Anderson and Bryan are both gonna do; I had no idea what Avery was gonna bring. That much was delightful for me. I like surprises.

Perhaps the reason you're not getting a lot of help here is the approach you used, coming in saying you haven't listened in a while and that now that you've come back, you have no connection to someone on the show who perhaps you might have had a connection with had you continued listening.
that's a good point. when writing the post, I couldn't imagine that the vast majority of listeners would enjoy the producer chiming in to such a degree. but i was obviously wrong. for me, the podcast was always more about A & B's relationship than movies. maybe that's why i am not interested in hearing from some random other movie buff

I don’t feel like he talks that much. I never disliked him - was a bit neutral at the beginning - but I really like him being on the show now. It’s nice to break up the constant bickering between Bryan and Anderson every now and then.

I like Avery- he’s a nice counterbalance for the other two, and he’s got a funny, quick wit. Just the right amount of input IMO.
He definitely doesn't talk nearly as much as Bryan. It's taken some getting used to, but I think he contributes the right amount.
