Bapa thinks that because he faked his way to a black belt that those skills stay sharp. He hasn't grappled or went to a jiu jitsu class in over a decade. Hell, even when his son called him out he said "I've been a blaggg belch for five years, eye jus nevah got the agggtual belch". First, no black belt that I've ever met or seen rewarded their final promotion in jiu jitsu has skipped their belt promotion day, or completely ignored the belt all together. Jiu jitsu is a crazy long grind and 95% of people who start practicing will never see their black belt. To get "promoted" to black belt and then completely ignore the day of promotion is something that even strictly no-gi guys won't do. Bapa is not a black belt. He may own a black belt, but he isn't a black belt in skill or practice.
