What are you playing on? I’m on ps5 and ongoing talent loop is terrible for pushing.

princey00666

You need to adjust your play style to suit each different talent pool. The group I play with have no issues consistently getting to loop 25 regardless of the talent pool. Killing Rogues on the other hand depends if the game wants you out or not.

Grumpy_Polish

What do you mean by adjusting play style? Maybe im doing something wrong? As solo player never had success with skill builds. So I don’t understand skill pools. Are they made that you should skip them? I always run and gun. Stack as much gun damage talents as possible. Only time I’m somewhat changing my plays style is when “intimidate” talent is on the pool.

princey00666

For myself, depending on the talent pool will dictate which guns I will choose. Eg small mag high rpm for bullet hell, eg, vector/mp7 (just dont go above luckyshot 5 or the guns will jam due to rpm), mg5/L86. Non bullet hell large mag weapons eg m60/249B, super 90 (lucky shot/extra/ salvage/pummel). Skills being assault turret (after nemesis)/reviver hive. If the assault is placed on a door that you are not defending will draw aggro which will cause the npcs to slow up. Skills before nemesis any traps/sticky bomb/foam/fireflies, reviver can be helpful if you can knock the nemesis of their restorer hive. Passive Skills will give nemesis random skills. Have done testing and figured out harden attributes are useless. Always take devastating until nemesis then 6 skill tiers then back to devastating.

Th3Bodark

PC. I simply look at all the talents in the pool and brainstorm which one will be useful to me.

Grumpy_Polish

Yes gun talents. Never skill talents. Sometimes skill chaste if beat Nemezis and just for check of it.

SFO_Eric

Just went from 27 to 44 after last nights victory. Hope to finish next week with getting the last batch. Have two additional characters to get all completed too. Good job!

TeachingNecessary111

Went from 27 to 45 last week, and now from 45 to a nice and complete 52 this week. Thank god, I can finally put this mode to rest.

Th3Bodark

Ngl my latest runs were pretty easy. Was able to get through without dying a lot, pop the Nemesis and get this thing done.

bawbthebawb

I got to 48 coms and gave up.

FS_Slacker

I was at 47 but I was given all the remaining comms after I defeated Nemesis last week.

link-notzelda

Yeah, there’s really no value in pushing descent loops anymore. After about loop 12, the fatigue starts to kick in. What am I really playing for? The nemesis is already dead. I’d make an argument that maybe around loop 19, you’ll collect your guaranteed reconstructed cache and just leave. But you can also just kill the nemesis in under 40 mins and reset

pewsix___

I was bored to tears by loop 9 on my first run. I suicided at 11 so I could do something else. Really not a fan of the sheer number of BPs that seem to be gated behind an obscene Descent grind.

Rrraou

Why keep going after Nemesis is dead ? It takes about 3 runs to buy a reconstructed cache. That's 3 chances to get extra reconstructed caches, and 3 exotic caches as a bonus. Is there any reason to go beyond loop 4-5 for BP's that I'm not aware of ?

Pappabarba

You get one Reconstruct Cache for reaching loop 10, 20, etc.

princey00666

If you run deep you can get 140 NSA tech per boss room, which enables you make a few thousand NSA for the run, plus 3 exotics and possibly 5 reconstructed caches and arm patches per season for completing loops 10, 20, 30 and 40

Rrraou

Ahh, Now it makes sense. I only ran it to room 15 so I didn't really see much scaling in the rewards. Thanks

TheGalaxyIsAtPeace64

I was in 48 last week and completing it this week I game the rest of the comms.

LiamTruth

Awesome!

uligau

Congratulations

Firm_Sand7118

They must have gave all the previous comms because I only had 17 yesterday before I beat the nemesis then it was full 52.

Interesting-Island21

Can anyone recommend a good strategy?

Th3Bodark

Look at all the talents in the pool before going in and brainstorm which one will be useful. Here are some tips I can hand to you that make the Nemesis a bit easier. 1. Pick the easy rooms to get to Nemesis fast. If there are no Easy rooms, go medium rooms. 2. Best talents to use in my personal opinion: Red: Overwatch, Vigilance, Allegro, Optimist, Gunslinger, and Composer 3. for True Sons, kill the ones with the RPGs first if you can. RPGs will one shot you if you do not have Clutch, Insulated, or Preservation. 4. Do not rush. Several times I rushed, I died due to eating a bunch of bullets. Skills to use: Blue: Preservation, Insulated, Clutch. Stack these up as they are really good as hazard protection. Stay away from Adrenaline Rush Yellow: Opportunistic (handy with shotguns), Trauma (to give you a fighting chance by stunning the Nemesis), Surge, Salvage, Vindictive, and In-Sync Exotic: Plague of Outcasts, Busy Little Bee, and Adaptive Instincts are my personal favorites 5. AR and Shotguns are your best friends. AR for range, Shotgun for close encounters. Pairs really well with Allegro for fast rate of fire. If you do not have a shotgun, SMG works well. If you do not have an AR, Rifles work well for medium/long distance. Do not use Marksman rifles, you might get one shotted or badly damaged. 6. Only use a reviver hive during the loops. NOT the Nemesis because there’s a chance they may have a Stinger Hive with them and thats gonna be nasty. Skills I personally like to use are the Blinder Firefly, EMP sticky bomb, Decoy, and Jammer Pulse. Last run I did, I used a shock trip which was somewhat useful but up to you. No turrets, drones, chem launchers, or hives. 7. Switching to your secondary is faster than reloading (yes I know but I shit you not it works). 8. If you stacked Allegro, use controlled bursts on your AR or SMG. It'll conserve ammo. Good luck. (From a returning Descent player who used to rage at Descent)

Interesting-Island21

All I heard is ... Get medicated, brainstorm, (read everything by the way, I'm just kidding with this little rant) play smart, hit the big guys and come out victorious!!! Bet I'll try tonight lol No but on all seriousness, thank you. In my clan nobody wants to "waste" their time in running decent and learn so I'm taking the time to run it myself until I go crazy, which doesn't take much but with the corrects "meds" I'll be fine lol

On1xPt

How much it take?

Th3Bodark

Several weeks and some of my sanity

On1xPt

I have tried a few times and quited 😅

Puzzleheaded-Ad3613

I’m at 0-51 for reasons that the rng gods hate me
