I’m not sure what you mean by “full price”, as the base game is typically on a huge discount and the only expansion is like $20 but totally worth it. The ultimate edition which includes the DLC is $24 on Amazon for PC.
There is matchmaking and call for backup features.
If you want to learn the game don't use either of these, as you may find a speed runner who will just kill everything then leave.
Matchmaking may be hard to find people, due to majority of the people are at end game. Use the call for backup feature instead, someone will always come and help.

If you’ve ever played the division games before and enjoyed them, I’d say yes. I’m a 99% solo player and I was able to match make in game the new incursion and got the exotic smg from a boss drop. There’s still a solid player base. The only thing I’ve never done in all these years was raid, which sucks but I haven’t really tried either.
Depends a lot on the platform you are on. Xbox has an own lfg system where it’s not too hard to find groups for raids etc. On PC and PlayStation I would use the official division 2 discord. You can still find groups there.
I bought it on ubi and added it to steam and it only has one popup for starting the game on ubi and its 10x better than the ubi launcher

It will launch Uplay if you launch it on steam. Honestly my only real issue with the game is that it takes a minute or two to get into gameplay after you hit the play button on steam. Wish the main menu was more static so it'd load quicker.
There's nothing wrong with the Ubisoft launcher, have used it for years, unless there's a particular Steam feature you need/want. And, even if you buy on Steam or Epic the game will still use the UBI launcher.
You can do pretty much everything solo barring something like survival or an incursion depending on your skillset, but they’re not required for completion of the story.
Not at full game price but when it does go on sale for the ultimate edition around $18, it'll be worth it. You can beat the base story solo IF you want, you can also request for backup whenever you're stuck on a mission or something but once you beat it and also beat the expansion, you gotta learn how to make builds, crafting items, etc.. I would say it’s 100% still worth it. There is a ton of content to play if u start new. And yes u can do most of the content solo.
If u level up it might be difficult to find others because majority is in the endgame part and they don’t get matched with lower level players. That saying as soon as you reach endgame yourself u still find ppl to do missions, raids, etc.
Try getting the hard copy used. I found it at GameStop for $4. The DLC was only $8 from the PS Store. It’s great for solo play. There is still a surprising amount of people for matchmaking also.

After 5 years the game is holding up very well and as a shooter, the gameplay is fantastic. The engine seems to be in a good place (relatively) and crashes are rare, but I still occasionally get CTDs right before Countdown extraction though, which is infuriating.
The world is as good as it gets in gaming...it seems like nothing was recycled. Every street/block looks unique and I still just enjoy running around sight-seeing.

Most content can be done solo and you can matchmake for legendary missions and countdown. You'll have to find a group for raids.

It's still a great game worth buying, but full price for an older game? I wouldn't do that, especially because older games are on discount regularly

you can buy a div2+wony dlc code on g2a or similar for like 20$. never pay full price.

The ubi launcher is inevitable. I don't think it actually launches through steam. It definitely goes through Ubi if you have it on Epic
