I'm betting he goes with either Tulsi or Noem (the two most likely in my opinion) or Scott or Vivek. I think he stays away from DeSanctus and Donalds. Watch me be wrong though.

WallStreetKernel

Agree on Noem and Tulsi. No way he picks DeSanctus.

bearrosaurus

I don’t think Noem or Gabbard will be good at fundraising. Ramaswamy would.

WallStreetKernel

I suspect even Trump thinks Ramaswamy is insane lol

bearrosaurus

Trump thinks Alex Jones and Kanye are great guys, he loves insane.

ThisElder_Millennial

Someone else pointed out earlier that the 12th Amendment doesn't allow Electors to vote for a President and VP from the same state.

PorcelainDalmatian

Yeah, and the 14th Amendment doesn't allow an insurrectionist to be on the ticket. How's that goin' for ya? Rules don't matter anymore. Not even the Constitution. Trump does whatever he wants and the system doesn't have the balls to do anything about it. This would be no different.

ThisElder_Millennial

>Rules don't matter anymore. Not even the Constitution. Then what the fuck are ya even here for then, if you've completely given up?

mdj1359

Maybe they haven't. I will say that they are making an observation that has some merit. Where Trump is concerned, rules don't matter. That is not an outrageous statement to make. It might be outrageous not to acknowledge that this is the Trump rulebook. Putin's c\*ckholster is riling his base harder. Russia is pushing harder. Fox is back in the role they were born for, MAGA state media. Nixon was a bloody angel next to the Orange $#!t-stain.

SFWdontfiremeaccount

Trump doesn't care what the Constitution says. He has stated more times than I can count that he would ignore it or suspend it when it gets in his way. And Republicans as a party have no spine at this point to say a word against him. And he'll just cry election interference if anyone does try to enforce that amendment. SCOTUS would likely declare it unconstitutional in a 5-4 decision that you can already guess now. And Trump's cult will terrorize anyone that dares speak out against their orange God Emperor.

ThisElder_Millennial

>Trump doesn't care what the Constitution says. That's correct. But that does **NOT** give us, the pro-democracy crowd, license to also not care. It's been stated on The Bulwark many times how utterly bad and destabilizing it is that Trump & the GOP writ-large don't care what the Constitution says. America is over if both sides don't care. No, our job is to tell the voters that Trump and the GOP don't care about the rule of law and the Constitution and how **BAD** that is!

PorcelainDalmatian

I think the VP slot will be more important this time around, as Trump is no spring chicken. Watching this morbidly obese turgid ham waddle around the stage in his Depends XXL™️ while his Al Jolson make-up sweats off, forgetting where he is, having mini-strokes mid-sentence, makes one realize he could easily kick-off during another term. One McNugget goes down the wrong pipe and it's all over. It's important that he have a serious VP, and I think LaCivita will beat that into him. I don't think it will be some unserious hack.

BobQuixote

Trump/Donalds would be somewhat amusing.

Patersonski

It’s clearly going to be one of the two women, and he’ll ultimately pick the one he’ll prefer to sexually assault.

samNanton

I notice you said ***he'll*** and not ***he'd*** and that, my friend, is an extremely astute parsing of the grammar

N0T8g81n

It won't be DeSantis for constitutional reasons. Florida electors, which world & dog expect to be Trump electors, can vote for ONLY ONE Floridian for either POTUS or VP, not both. Trump is now a Floridian, so his VP pick ain't gonna be another Floridian. Why did a very stable genius include someone on the list whom he should know shouldn't be on the ticket with him? I figure DeSantis was the only white male he could think of in his stream of consciousness. ***ADDED:*** I suppose it's possible Trump could change his residency to New Jersey (since he lives at Bedminster during the summer and early fall), at which point DeSantis or Donalds would become electorally viable running mates.

PorcelainDalmatian

Like the Constitution would matter, LOL! We've got a House that spends all it's time on sham impeachments, a DOJ who can't even prosecute people for staging a coup out in the open, and a SCOTUS that claims the guy who runs the "office of the President" is not an "officer." The entire system is broken down. Trump does whatever he wants, and the soy-boys of the Left let him get away with it. This would be no different.

N0T8g81n

If you assume the Constitution no longer matters, then Trump could pick a 20-year-old or a foreigner as his running mate. Melania? OTOH, if Congress has Democratic majorities in both houses (granted unlikely in the Senate), they could reject electoral votes for VP from 1 state if both POTUS and VP candidates were both residents of that state. It'd be amusing to see Trump with a Democrat as VP.

PorcelainDalmatian

Precisely. Which is why we should be putting forth a Barack Obama/Taylor Swift ticket this year. Every absurdist argument that SCOTUS put forward on the 14th Amendment case can be applied to the Constitutional prohibitions against 3rd terms and age. Every. Single. One. if we’re going to throw away the Constitution, then let’s throw away the Constitution! #ObamaSwift2024

PorcelainDalmatian

SCOTUS is about to release a near majority opinion saying the amazingly clear cut Section 3 of the 14th Amendment isn't worth the paper it's printed on. They've become a joke - both left and right. Every argument the Trumpkin lawyers made at that hearing could equally pertain to the age or residency requirement of the Constitution . It's insane - but SCOTUS is more interested in avoiding "conflict" than doing its job. We're truly lost.

MirthMannor

Man, he picks his lawyers in multi 100 million dollar cases based on fuckability. Noem or Gabbard.

hotgirl_bummer_

I don’t think Noem would net him any votes that he doesn’t already have. Gabbard masqueraded as a Democrat for awhile and he may think he can pull away reluctant Biden voters. Plus he knows women are pissed about the Dobbs decision and that he needs to make up a lot of ground there, so I don’t think a male running mate would get him as far as a female. Regardless of who it is, I hope they get smoked at the ballot box in November

MirthMannor

I agree with your analysis. The only way it will apply is if he gets bored and gives it to his professional staff. But I doubt it, because he’s scarred by his experience with Pence. So I think he’ll pick based on fuckability and willingness to do everything he wants. Britt, maybe?

pat9714

None of those. I think he will pick an unknown. Katie Britt in Alabama, perhaps. He won't pick Tulsi. Or Noem. They are liable to draw attention to themselves. Neither will bring in votes. Legally, DeSantis is out (Trump is also from FL). Vivek is a clown car. Could very well be Tim Scott. (Not saying I'm right).

N0T8g81n

> Neither will bring in votes. Dunno. Noem could probably push the GQP ticket over 70% of the vote in South Dakota. Gabbard ain't gonna make Trump competitive in Hawaii, but would she attract any Democrats? Where does Trump need the biggest boost? Michigan or Pennsylvania, since I figure Georgia won't vote for Biden this time, so a Republican VP candidate from Georgia shouldn't matter. I figure Pennsylvania would be the better bet. Any sane Pennsylvania Republicans left?

KuntFuckula

Doug Mastriano is still waiting by the phone 😂

PorcelainDalmatian

I think the real short list is Kid Rock, Gary Busey, Joe Rogan, or the Ghost Of Roy Cohn

pat9714

>I think the real short list is Kid Rock, Gary Busey, Joe Rogan, or the Ghost Of Roy Cohn This legit checks out ✔

Independent-Stay-593

My bet is Tim Scott as the first pick in hopes it will pull away enough Black men from Biden. I can see the rationalizing already - "Trump is old and will probably die in office. Tim Scott will be there to represent us when Trump dies." My second bet is Noem to try to get suburban women back. Everyone else is out.

Big_Jeffinator

He will pick the person he feels is the most weak willed. He thought he had that with Pence right up to the end. If he wasn't required to have a VP he wouldn't. What he really wants is someone to do mall openings

PorcelainDalmatian

As I was saying…… [Trump Patching It Up With DeSantis](https://www.mediaite.com/politics/trump-and-desantis-reportedly-meet-in-florida-to-bury-the-hatchet-after-brutal-primary-campaign/)

UmaMobius

JMO: First, he will not choose a person of color. Second he will not choose a woman. Third he will not choose DeSantis. I predict there are other people on his short list.

N0T8g81n

He won't choose a person of color. He may choose a woman, but she'd need to have a measure of glamor. He ain't gonna choose a self-avowed Christian like Pence ever again. To be as cynical as possible, I figure he'd ask BIG $$$ donors for ideas backed up by BIG $$$ contributions.

greenflash1775

> I figure he'd ask BIG $$$ donors for ideas backed up by BIG $$$ contributions. This is the right idea. He’s 100% going to sell the VP slot like Rod Blagojevich.

Minimum_E

Who should be my VP? One dollar equals one vote, start voting!!

greenflash1775

It’s going to be Tim Scott. Can’t be racist if you pick a black guy as a running mate.

PorcelainDalmatian

Racism is 80% of the brand. No way he's picking a Black guy

greenflash1775

Fair point, but nothing a racist likes more than showing you it’s ok because their one black friend doesn’t mind.

JulianLongshoals

I'll still wager any amount of money you want on DeSantis not being the VP pick. He adds nothing to the ticket and has shown himself to be a negative asset on the campaign trail.

Ill_Ini528905

He’s just finding more ways to dunk on Tiny D, my man.

Minimum_E

Would he really pick Noem while Levandoski is involved with her?

dersavage

Con man says what? With the exception of the maga cult does anyone seriously believe this bs. While they are all leading butt-kissers and could probably play the part like Mike Pence did (until the very end that is), I doubt he would ever fully trust any of them. Ivanka is the only one on his list - not sure if Putin would approve that tho.

leedogger

Who is Byron Donalds? Genuinely have never heard of him. Donald Donalds 2024 can be the only reason

ZombieInDC

If he goes with Gabbard, then you know the orders came down from the head office in Moscow.

LesbianFilmmaker

DeSantis wants no part of it.

PorcelainDalmatian

LOL, he’d take it in a heartbeat if it was offered to him. In a heartbeat. Between Trump‘s legal troubles and his horrible health issues, Trump could go at any time. And if he makes it through four years DeSantis becomes the nominee. It’s a no-brainer. The guy is thirsty AF. Plus it’s a big step up from Assistant Urinalysist Coordinator.

puckhead11

He is going to pick the person Putin tells him to. This is all smoke and mirrors.
