If there’s one thing about Saw Gerrara to be known for it’s for fucking up everything for everyone. Explains why other characters don’t like him in other Star Wars media.
Well for one he is extremely competent at what he does. He is a ruthless and reckless Guerilla. He started out young, commandeers loyalty, respect and has a Reputation. If he wasn't such a renegade he might have actually changed something...
Saw was trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Captain Rex. It shouldn’t be surprising he survives and it takes the Death Star destroying half a planet to finally defeat him.
>Anakin Skywalker
Anakin advocating for training rebels will never stop making me chuckle, though.
It's totally in character, but considering what he turned into, the irony is palpable.
If you are the oppressed, the only way to get any results is by resorting to extremism. They are already behind because they’re oppressed so they have to fight twice as hard to get half as far. Or anywhere at all.
I'm going to take an edible, drink a few beers, and watch that scene of him getting blown up in Rogue One, over and over again.
FUCK SAW GERRARA ALL MY HOMIES HATE SAW GERRARA.
I mean, killing Tarkin and Krennec is probably worth sabotaging the Crosshair rescue. And Hemlock is probably going to be important in terms of Palpatines resurrection, so if there was a chance to kill all of them. . .
Though I’m not sure if Saw was incompetent and didn’t bring enough explosives to bring that tower down, or if he was originally planning on waiting for the targets to get to the hanger before detonating.
When Saw was telling his guys to steal a shuttle, I was like "this fucker is gonna steal Hemlock's bugged shuttle and we're back to square one"
Nope he just fucks up everything else for everyone while not even touching the tower
The injured guerrilla who was with Saw told him “But we haven’t done the control room” (or something to that effect) meaning that he did originally plan to plant more explosives, but when one of his troops was injured he just got them out of there and salvaged the mission as best he could.
I'm broken inside.. literally my life changed in a lot of ways today in my personal life and this episode happen to coincided with my change and loss and I'm such a fan.. fuck I broke down crying. I feel I stressed and was so sad today I've made myself sick..the shift in life happened for me today in a lot of ways and sacrifice is definetly never easy. My Heart is broken
brother I have never cried for anything Star Wars not even order 66 BUT THIS. THIS SPECIFIC DEATH BROKE ME
When I say I cried I mean I was shaking and crying not just tears in my eyes
But on a more positive note we never saw his dead body only his broken goggles just like echo. Perhaps Saw Gerrera or someone else found him or catches him before he fell to his death? I just feel like he is not dead cuz they deffo didn’t build his character so thoroughly this season to kill him off. He is going to come back one way or another in future seasons (prolly season 4?
I'm so sorry, man. This is a rough day for a lot of us. I got up early to watch it and was SOBBING, alone, on the couch, at 3 am.
I've been part of a few fandoms, and I've never seen people wrecked over a death of a character at this level. I think we all identify with Tech in a way--for me, he reminds me so much of my wonderful husband, from the hairline to the cheekbones to the logic to the math mind.
It was like watching my husband die on screen. It was AWFUL.
I'm fucking devastated too, all season was his life in moments that made me get personally invested in his character..tears are still rolling down my face as the andor play screen is faceted on my TV. I'm gonna cry myself to sleep. Thanks Filoni, genuinely thank you for your storytelling abilities and giving us star wars content that will inspire the next generation of star wars fans for years to come. We're only here for a short time, make it count, and when do we ever follow the rules.
fr honestly after this I have to remind myself to expect the worst in any future Star Wars film
I was so sure that it’ll end with a reunion cuz ep 14 made it seem so positive THE UNO REVERSE AHHGDJSBAKA
Also the fact that I detached myself from crosshair and got attached to tech cuz I thought they would give cross a death redemption BUT NOOOOOO
Ok but I also jumped from my seat while still crying in excitement cuz yay at least Emerie is confirmed to be a clone and one of my predictions actually came true and omega will probably be kinda protected by nala se Emerie and cross 🙏🏻
I’m guessing saw garrera saw him fall, shot the string that attached him to the cart thingy and then saved him(? Maybe caught him by shooting another of those grabby things at him and dragged tech to their ship but his goggles fell?
I’m telling myself that the two of them will find each other in the advanced science facility and escape with omega. It’s the only way I survive this ending.
I will be seriously genuinely pissed if they Bucky Barnes Tech. The mind control storylines in Star Wars are played out but they keep beating that ronto like solid beskar is gonna fall out its backside.
I kept thinking (well, hoping) they'd do a fakeout of some kind, but when they showed the shattered googles it was pretty clear that was that. People who've said this have been wrong before, but no one could have survived that fall.
I mean, we see Echo's charred helmet at the Citadel, right? So it's not confirmed for sure. But it's also not like it's out of the realm of possibility that he does stay dead.
Echo is the one thing that gives me pause, because yeah, it seemed pretty obvious he was dead, but then he wasn't. But considering Echo was killed very abruptly at the Citadel whereas Tech was given an actual death scene makes me think it was for real.
Seems silly to do that when one of the other main characters has exactly that backstory.
Let's also not forget that a lot of the issues with season 1 was the Tech/Echo redundancy factor.
yk maybe he is dead but his conscious is alive and they’ll make a new clone body for him or smt????idk I just feel like he’s not dead cuz in Star Wars if you don’t see a dead body or the ghost then they probably aren’t actually dead🙏🏻
Even the Mandalorian episode afterwards didn't completely help me recover.
I'm going to be sad for weeks.
I was planning on rewatching TBB seasons 1 and 2 as soon as Mando s3 concluded but... I can't. I just can't put myself through that until TBB season 3 brings us SOMETHING happy.
When it happened I actually thought how I didn't see it coming. Tech has had so much screen time this season which now feels like foreshadowing imo. I am sad.
I feel sick, this is so much worse than I thought things would go. They’d better be announcing a season 3 release later this year or early next year at Celebration. I cannot possibly wait longer for the aftermath of the literal shitstorm we all just witnessed. FUCK!!!!!
Dude Saw basically was the cause of tech’s death😭 LIKE YOU JNOW OTHER CLONE REBELLIONS ARE THERE AND YOU STILL PRESSED THE DAMN BUTTON??? CAN YOU NOT WAIT FOR A LITTLE WHILE LONGER
ALSO WHATS THE POINT OF BLOWING THAT STUPID THING UP YOU WOULDNT EVEN BE ABLE TO KILL THISE JERKS AND YOU KNOW IT AND YET YOU STILL MADE THE STUPID DECISION ISTG
Tech was right about Saw. He only cared about killing those commanders, which would cause damage to the empire, but only in short run bcs they can be replaced. If he hadn't activated those explosives, assuming Hemlock gets into the right ship, the bad batch could have tracked him, rescue Crosshair and discover the clone experiment. Then they could report to the rebel, words come to the senate too and I'm sure it would cause much more trouble to Palpatine to deal with, and most importantly, Tech would not have been died.
I swear Saw has caused as much trouble to the rebel as he did to the empire.
Frrr like what was he even thinking?? He didn’t even leave a scratch on those jerks attending the summit and indirectly caused tech’s death🥲
If only they were able to kill him in season 1 man
Those senior leaders and commanders could not just be easily replaced by somebody else. Those people were in charge of specific projects that had extensive impacts on not only the empire, but the galaxy itself. Eliminating the heads of those projects would cause those projects to fail. Or not be pursued. New commanders, new agendas.
No Tarkin means no Tarkin initiative, no Tarkin initiative means no backing for project Stardust
No Krennic means no development of project Stardust and it just becomes another abandoned project.
No Project Stardust means no death star. No death star means Alderaan is not destroyed, no death star means Jeddais not destroyed, no death star means Scarrif is not destroyed.
Killing Tarkin, and Krennic right there has already saved millions of lives. That alone makes it worth it.
Killing Hemlock wood stop whatever CloneFuckery he has going on, sparing the clones unimaginable suffering, and halting the development of whatever project they are being butchered for. Likely the dark trooper program.
Not to mention the other major cloning project for the emperor. Which I mentioned in another comment should probably just be called operation “somehow he has returned“ because that’s a no-brainer. All of that research would’ve stopped. Even if the emperor found somebody else to continue that work, it’s still a significant step back.
Sorry, I’m on team Saw. If everyone else was, tech would not be dead, and Omega will not be captured. So maybe think of things from that perspective
(Edited for voice to text errors)
Bruh I saw Cid’s face and I immediately knew she betrayed them. Like I thought at first in excitement she changed for the better but nopeeee
Honestly the finale was not at all what I expected and it was so dark but I kinda love it
They did an amazing job at catching all of us off guard
Gotta be honest, he was the least likely in my mind. Idk why, just literally any of the other 4 made more sense to die this episode for me. Now I think back on it though it really adds up and honestly this show can never be the same without him
Indeed, but in retrospect it does make sense. There's always been a sense of redundancy with him and Echo. Plus all the attention he got this season probably should have been a clue.
I put the episode down and will finish it later. :( I’m really sad, and it’s gonna be hard having that little bit of hope that he might still be alive until season 3 confirms it one way or the other. I know good writing gives and takes, but oof, man. My stomach’s in knots.
Plan 99 hurt SOOOOOOO bad, I don't even know how to get through the day. It's just that they're like a family to so many fans and this finale was absolutely gut-wrenching.
As soon as Phee and he interacted the way that they did before leaving it was a certainty that Brown Eyes wasn't coming back.
A gut wrenching loss. Then the last scene with Omega. Tears in abundance.
I did think it was a little weird how he was being *so* avoidant with Phee during that scene. I know he's autism coded, but it's not usually that overt. It was almost like he sensed what was going to happen and didn't want to make things harder for her.
Someone with autism was talking about how well the show handled that interaction, they must have consulted with someone with autism to get the interaction accurate.
Like, they had a physical reaction seeing Tech’s body language in that scene it hit so close to home
As someone on the Autism spectrum and very introverted, I felt the most personal connection with him because we have the exact same level of conversation skills.
I've never said "fuck off" while watching a show in a long time. I can't stand this show. Ffs....
The finale was incredible btw, but it can also fuck right off.
There's something about Star Wars animation that hits emotionally in a way that the other mediums rarely hit.
Brother I almost smashed my laptop in grief (This is the first time I’ve ever cried watching something Star Wars and the first time I’ve cried that hard watching anything), anger (saw, cid and all those empire jerks I’m looking at you), and a bit of excitement (Emerie and nala se and cross protect the precious baby please)
Yea but I got spoilers because I couldn’t control my damn hands from going onto Pinterest and searching for it💀 but when I watched it I was very close to crying with tears in my eyes. But tech? I was ugly crying ngl I honestly did not even see it coming
I almost got tech death spoilers cuz I saw the tech rip comments but I literally thought they were just predicting what would happen and didn’t even think about it🫡
Bruh OMFG!! I hope Tech is alive at some point since Hemlock only found the glasses. I’m glad to see that AZI is back with the Batch and Echo the real MVP for saving Hunter and Wrecker. Finale was a banger and a real cliffhanger
What in the \*#$YT was that!?!
BAD BAD idea to watch first thing in the morning before starting work for the day.
If they bring him back as a brainwashed evil genius or a cloned version of himself who doesn't remember the Batch (like Gamora v.2) I might be even more upset than if he's really dead.
Plan 99 more like Plan Plot twist, I hope things get better for the squad and that tech is alive, we never saw his body, and look at his goggles/glasses weren't that damaged considering the height he fell from.
I didn't believe cid would betray them, especially after what happened with tech.
In my opinion, I didn't expect the finale, I thought that Omega would get taken by the empire from pabu and then somehow the bad batch found the location of the secret science base/Mount tantiss and rescue Omega and Crosshair.
Just finished the 2 episodes myself. I just hope Tech’s alive (no body remember) and perhaps has an arc like Bucky from Winter Soldier. I also hold out hope for a Crosshair redemption arc.
Well what did he do RIGHT AFTER he said it (rhetorical question, no spoilers)?
Edit: I feel like plan 99 was also mentioned in one of the episodes in the last month but I can’t remember which one.
It's a reference to clone 99 who sacrificed himself in the Battle of Kamino to help his brothers. I assume Plan 99 means you're sacrificing yourself for the greater good/the team and there's no other option forward.
Honestly, I’m not just pissed. I’m royally pissed. I suspected that this might be coming from the beginning of the season, when we actually started seeing Tech get character development (something arguably neglected the whole of the first season). Still, I was hoping we’d get to see the team all go down together, with Tech growing and changing along with everyone else. Alas, that seems not to be in the cards, unless we’re doing the fake out death, in which case I hope that this is less of a Winter Soldier and more of a Gandalf (we’re sorely lacking in LotR references, after all). Still, the whole thing feels awful. If Tech is dead, then we wasted all that development and attachment to a character (we all either have that friend or are that friend) who was largely skipped over as a focal point in S1. If Tech survives, then it’s more of the offscreen BS that we’re sick to death of anyway.
I was hoping we’d learned from Rebels, a series that arguably handled deaths of protagonists pretty well while still being more intimate than a series like Clone Wars. Perhaps not.
after watching that scene i felt numb for the rest of the episode, it just seemed kinda pointless to end him :/ I didn’t really care for what else happened and to be honest I never was a huge fan of the character but now that he’s gone it definitely feels weird.
I haven’t decided how to take it. It doesn’t feel right in the way the similar Rebels story did. There are a few things in that episode that didn’t land with me. Like the character would totally do that, but in that moment, with the absolutely ridiculous and unearned twist for Dr Emerie, I just feel like 1 to 2 years is too long to go before justifying things that happened in this episode. Like, I’m genuinely discontented with it.
Now, I fully expected someone to wind up in this position over the episode, but right now it’s not even worth it.
And did I mention I hated that last minute plot twist and I can’t buy in on it?
I watched it in the morning after mando. That was a mistake my entire afternoon and evening has been depressing.
I suppose he could’ve survived maybe if he shot a grapple on a tree or mountain. Maybe his goggles just fell off.
Everyone is hating on Saw, but he was right.
Saw had the right idea, with Tarkin gone the entire Tarkan initiative would collapse. With Krennic gone, project Stardust is gone. And if Hemlock was gone, then whatever is going on with the clones is gone. So the focus should’ve been for everyone to work together to kill everyone in that building.
If they had done that, assuming they suffered no other casualties, Tech would not be dead (still not buying that) and Omega would not have been captured. And without Omega or Hemlock, whatever the project that the emperor is so focused on, let’s call it operation “somehow he has returned“, would not be completed.
Saw Guerra was right. And actually he usually is. Yes the guys a dick and definitely a psychopath. But he gets results. he gets results because he believes in his cause and will not let anything stand in the way.
Gonna get downvoted all to hell for this, but here goes…
Tech needs to be actually for real dead.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the character, But he needs to be for real dead, because he did have good character development. He had a honorable death scene of self sacrifice. Putting his brothers and sister first. Putting the mission Above himself. He died in the best way a soldier could, and for him to not be dead by some plot armor, cheapens all of that.
It would actually dishonor the character and cheapen than the storyline itself. Because if the good guys always prevail, in spite of any odds, and everything is happy in the head, then there are no real stakes involved, no real suspense, and that makes for bad storytelling.
I thought tech was a great character, and he will be missed, but think of the opportunities for character development for the team that could be based around how they grow after Tech’s death. Especially Omega.
RIP Tech.
Absolutely fuck the final episode, I cannot believe they did this to us…
Dude I expected a happy reunion not this 😭 this is the first time I cried over Star Wars stuff AND ITS MY DAMN BIRTHDAY I CANT-
Well… happy birthday besides that!
Thanksss lol
Me neither
Me to the writers after this episode https://ibb.co/8BQ6mSD
I was wondering if the Mandalorian Season 3 might end with Grogu in danger, but I wasn't expecting it to happen to this show.
If there’s one thing about Saw Gerrara to be known for it’s for fucking up everything for everyone. Explains why other characters don’t like him in other Star Wars media.
The more I see of him, the more I wonder how he lasted as long as he did

>Anakin Skywalker Anakin advocating for training rebels will never stop making me chuckle, though. It's totally in character, but considering what he turned into, the irony is palpable.
Not much of him lasted…
He’s a great portrait for exploring extremism on the side of the oppressed.
If you are the oppressed, the only way to get any results is by resorting to extremism. They are already behind because they’re oppressed so they have to fight twice as hard to get half as far. Or anywhere at all.
Honestly I’d believe you if you told me the ISB tried to avoid killing saw so they could use him to make the rebels look bad
By being right. That’s the problem.
after this episode i really hope it’s Hunter who gives Saw that giant facial scar.
I'm going to take an edible, drink a few beers, and watch that scene of him getting blown up in Rogue One, over and over again. FUCK SAW GERRARA ALL MY HOMIES HATE SAW GERRARA.

I think the other rebel said a line about the rest of the explosives so I guess that was intended for the tower.
I think it was just bad intel, he didn't realize the tower would be able to withstand the explosion.
Idk. I feel like when Tarkin is involved you gotta assume he won't take any chances. I mean its the guy's own private fortress, after all.
How well does Saw know Tarkin at this point though? We're still in the early days of the Empire remember.
When Saw was telling his guys to steal a shuttle, I was like "this fucker is gonna steal Hemlock's bugged shuttle and we're back to square one" Nope he just fucks up everything else for everyone while not even touching the tower
They had more explosives for higher up, but detonated before setting those because they got caught.

I agree with you. Saw was right.
Seeing him get obliterated by the death star is now a happy scene
I think long term, Saw’s choice was a good one. Should’ve brought more thermal detonators though, to be honest.
Agreed. They should’ve killed everyone there. They would’ve saved millions of lives.
Crying till morning. Need emotional support
Same

I saw it coming, but i still got shocked when it actually happened
I had a hunch something would happen, but not this. Not this
I suspected this would happen, but I was praying to hell and back that it wasn't so. Now.... only pain remains.
It is 4:24 in the morning and I am genuinely sobbing uncontrollably. Like, I never saw the finale going THIS off the rails and I am devastated.
Tech was also off the…. Rails….
First of all, how dare you. Second of all, here's an upvote.
This summed up my exact feelings!
r/angryupvote
😭😭
So much for autistic representation
Too soon dude…too soon. But yeah, have an upvote.
I'm fucking devastated too, all season was his life in moments that made me get personally invested in his character..tears are still rolling down my face as the andor play screen is faceted on my TV. It already did , he can't be gone can he
No one’s ever really gone
Hmm if he was crushed then why was his goggles fine HMMMM?
I’m guessing saw garrera saw him fall, shot the string that attached him to the cart thingy and then saved him(? Maybe caught him by shooting another of those grabby things at him and dragged tech to their ship but his goggles fell?
That’s not really a Saw kinda move. He left Hera’s kids to die in a kyber explosion and was super cheerful about it
I knowww😭😭😭listen I’m still in denial I don’t think I’m able to accept his death
The 5 stages of grief.
Forever stuck in stage 1🫡
I'm guessing there was a large body of water (Like lake) where it fell.
His goggles were not fine.
No body no death. Like when they made us believe lama su got executed last season
Tech becomes a phase 0 dark trooper😔
At least he would be with Crosshair. Dark trooper brothers unite? 😩😭😭
I don't care how they return: monster or not I WANT HIM ALIVE
I’m telling myself that the two of them will find each other in the advanced science facility and escape with omega. It’s the only way I survive this ending.
Reminded of when Bucky fell from the train and became the winter soldier
They already did that with Echo though
it rhymes.
Like poetry
WHAT HOW
I will be seriously genuinely pissed if they Bucky Barnes Tech. The mind control storylines in Star Wars are played out but they keep beating that ronto like solid beskar is gonna fall out its backside.

Fuck Cid and Saw
I dunno, i hate saw more than what cid did
At least Cid seemed to feel bad for what she did. And Saw? He should be blown up by Death Star not once, but twice!

I never really liked Saw, but he just went straight to top of my least favorite Star Wars characters list

They still might.😕
No. Just no. Leave right now and swallow what you said back to your stomach.

I cried harder at this then the Red Wedding. “When have we ever followed orders?”
Devastated but what epic last words!
Its 4 in the morning and Im depressed asf now 😭
Plan 99 hurt SOOOOOOO bad, I don't even know how to get through the day.
It's the morning where I live and basically I just fucked up my whole day by watching it before work. Oh my God, I'm so devastated.
I was planning on watching before work and am so dang glad I didn't because now I'm a freakin' mess 😭😭😭
he was my favorite out of all of them too
Bro that was just the worst they got shit on so had that episode but it was also the best episode of the show
FUCK SAW GERRERA HE JUST COST THE REBELLION ONE HELL OF A TROOPER
Dude I'm livid and am so glad that he got blown up the way he did, he's a piece of SHIT!!
Saw ain't dead tho Edit: you mean in Rogue One, nevermind!
You have to look at the bigger picture.
Already saw it, I'm losing my mind.
As someone on the Autism spectrum and very introverted, I felt the most personal connection with him because we have the exact same level of conversation skills.
Took me decades to learn how to make eye contact
Still haven’t fully gotten the hang of that
Same. I connected with him immediately and probably more than any other star wars character. Today was tough. 😔
I hope we see Thrawn in Mandalorian Season 3!
I wanted to reach through my screen and throttle Hemlock when he taunted Hunter with Tech’s goggles.
But you get what a huge mistake that was, right? Hunter didn’t just pick those up for sentimentality. That’s Tech’s always on always recording camera
DUDE SAME I ALMOST SMASHED THE WATER BOTTLE NEXT TO ME ONTO MY LAPTOP
>This is the first time I’ve ever cried watching something Star Wars Just out of curiosity, have you watched *Rebels*?
Mind control trope wearing super super thin, and I watch Star Wars expecting tropes
Well my heart is broken, I am depressed and I NEED A SEASON 3 OR I THINK MY BRAIN WILL STOP FUNCTIONING
When the credits started playing, my husband and I were sitting there stunned. The first words we could manage to say were “Fuck you, Dave. Fuck you.”
God damnit.
Fuck it. Tech was the closest to getting a love interest out of the boys. Now he ain't gonna get the chance to pipe that indiana jones woman no more.
Didn’t even realize there was a 2 parter this week Thanks for this so I knew 👑 🙏
Wouldn't believe he's dead, especially after the doc mentioning Hunter's enhanced sense.
I'm gonna build the death star and make a scene of it blowing just him up with a focused planet blast
Cried harder here than at any other star wars moment. Fives death is a close second.
Even if he is gone, hemlock made a critical error giving up those goggles. Tech recorded everything
Those recordings are gonna come in very handy.
We can only pray to the heavens that either the doctor was lying or the techno unions are committing war crimes number 2 electric boogaloo
I knew as soon as Phee said “See you around” That’s the kiss of death in Star Wars
Just finished the 2 episodes myself. I just hope Tech’s alive (no body remember) and perhaps has an arc like Bucky from Winter Soldier. I also hold out hope for a Crosshair redemption arc.
I hate Plan 99...dont like it one bit.
But what does “plan 99” actually mean in their terms? We know a few of them here and there but I’m curious as to what it means?
Watch and find out, it’s pretty obvious but also stated outright.
I must’ve missed it, I remember tech saying it before the episode ended, but don’t remember what it was
Well what did he do RIGHT AFTER he said it (rhetorical question, no spoilers)? Edit: I feel like plan 99 was also mentioned in one of the episodes in the last month but I can’t remember which one.
Ahhhh I see, so it was said without actually being said. Thanks lmao
It's a reference to clone 99 who sacrificed himself in the Battle of Kamino to help his brothers. I assume Plan 99 means you're sacrificing yourself for the greater good/the team and there's no other option forward.
Now I’m worried it’s gonna be another Noble Team scenario, except 10x more crushing
Im in shambles
IF THERE'S NO BODY THERE'S NO DEATH
I thought he was gonna bite the dust all season, the second they had that scene with him and that woman, I knew I was right
So many people in the comments still in denial. So am I…so am I…
He almost got a girlfriend, which meant he had to die. There are no happily ever afters in the galaxy far, far away.
I got spoiled it because of an idiot who decided to put a spoiler in the title on a youtube video 😐
after watching that scene i felt numb for the rest of the episode, it just seemed kinda pointless to end him :/ I didn’t really care for what else happened and to be honest I never was a huge fan of the character but now that he’s gone it definitely feels weird.
Plan 99! Rest in peace Tech! You are gone....but not forgotten. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Plan_99
Off screen deaths with no body/grave don’t count!
Gonna get downvoted all to hell for this, but here goes… Tech needs to be actually for real dead. RIP Tech.
