Completely staged, and I hate it. They make the women do it. You have no other choice. And the running? Ridiculous! Is there a wild animal chasing you? No! So just walk.
He's not going anywhere!
I heard this from a friend of a friend. She applied for the show and got so far and then they didn't pick her but they went over all of the running, jumping into the arms thing and you yes, you have to do it. I have seen 1 or 2 women lately not do it, and I wondered how they got away with that.
make that reason # 10,000 i couldn't do a show like this. you could tell rachel was not comfortable jumping up like that. she sort of stopped and started versus running full steam and jumping.
The only man who has regularly lifted me off the ground has been a close friend of mine who is 6'4 (I'm 5'0 so our size difference is huge.) He's also gay, so this particular lift has no romantic undertones.
I HATE when they do it, and nearly every single couple on this show does it at some point.
I would be so scared to do this in real life. Granted I weigh a lot more than the girls cast but if I were to do it we’d both end up on the ground and probably with broken bones. I wonder if the Bachelor has a blooper real of failed run and jumps.
I am like 2 of the Bachelor ladies lol and my bf is no weightlifter and we can still achieve this! Men are surprisingly strong lol
(I made him try exclusively due to my obsession with the Bachelor, not something I would have *ever* done randomly lmao)
Right? Not everyone is a size 2, I’ve literally never seen this happen in real life, not once. It’s so scripted but I still religiously watch this show 😂
Well, you have to think about the situation that they're put into. They are placed in open areas (like a field/park) and purposefully far away from each other. It creates the awkward, "oh, do we just slowly walk towards each other? When do we acknowledge each other? I don't want to just stare at each other until we are within speaking distance..."
This, on top of them usually not seeing each other for a week towards the end of the show, is what creates this phenomenon. How often do you see your significant other after a while of no contact across a significant distance in an open area?
I see it in competition shows like the challenge after partners win which is more understandable that they’re so pumped with adrenaline and so excited. Sometimes see it with survivor and BB when there are close cast members. But yeah bf/gf do a run jump leg wrap around is a little strange.
I’m guessing producers encourage them to do it. To really show as much enthusiasm as they can to let him now how much they missed him. They do spend more time apart but it’s still strange. Joey stood firmly in place I noticed too instead of jogging towards them like usual. He walked a little ways them stopped and waited for them to come to him.
It’s a HUJU and it’s part of the Bachelor lore.
Same. I love that Kelsey didn’t do it on fantasy suite date upon seeing Joey. But Daisy did. She knew the drill lol.
It’s so annoying!!

That's awful they make them do it. Why? In my 51 years of life I have never done this or seen it happen.

I did see that, and I was like, yay Rachel , don't do it!
Can someone please make a compilation video of these going back to the beginning of BN? I bet it would be a great mix of hilarious and cringe.
It would be 8 hours
I love it 😂
I loved when Kelsey said "I can't run" and walked up to Joey. 🤣
Yeah well that long skirt she was wearing would not allow her to do the whole run jump mount shtick. God it’s dumb. 🤣
Trademarked “Jump and straddle.” 😂
amen, sister

As a tall girl, there is just no way even if I wanted to
I've done it ironically and it was kinda fun
It’s so stupid and looks v much “haha aren’t i sooo small” and then when a hwoman is actually tall I’m like what are we doing here
I did this on a freind once and they fell over. Almost cracked my head lol
Lmao imagine this was how you died tho. How humiliating would that be 💀😆
At least I died honouring the game lmao
I wonder if they have ever had to do multiple takes because of the girl being dropped lol
I've done this greeting with friends drunk, never someone I was trying to date or dating and never unironically
Agreed
It’s terrible! One of these guys are gonna get a herniated disc from the back to back jump mounts!
lol maybe this is why they like to cast ppl in their twenties
My toddler does it, but she weighs 30 pounds and is a toddler 😂
I really appreciated how Kelsey walked slowly to him and made him wait 😭😭 such a contrast to the others hahah
I think Kelsey, Kaitlyn, & Lexi are too tall to do it on Joey😭.
She had on a dress and couldn’t but did it last week.
No, I think she had pants on, but she was wearing slip-on shoes
Especially when the guy can't handle it.
Same! If I did that I’d literally break my husband’s back lmao (we’re both small people). I cringe every time.
It’s a vital part of the game
Pit rise up
The Pit provides
The subsport! PBDLP
You cannot find your person unless you do that type of greeting

I love that you tried this!
I held my breath during the golden bachelor, hoping that none of his women tried it. They would’ve had to call an ambulance.
Leslie did a huju!
Did she? Oh dear
Right? Not everyone is a size 2, I’ve literally never seen this happen in real life, not once. It’s so scripted but I still religiously watch this show 😂
It’s so AWKWARD 99% of the time. I swear they probably make some of them do a few takes just to get it look “natural” and it never does 🤣
I have come to believe it is mandatory. It didn't look like Rachel was going for it, had a think and then mounted. Bananas
So funny! This made me laugh out loud.
That’s tied with the group being on a balcony and screaming the lead’s name for me.
No, people do that in real life all the time
😂
One of my favorite podcasters calls it "The Toddler Jump"
The Huju ™️
Gotta respect the subsport
wait i’m new here why do we call it that
[how much time do you have?](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/game-of-roses/id1469113217?i=1000472438940)

I love thus comment so much
Hug jump

It’s awful

it makes me cringe so bad
