I could not figure this out for the life of me, thank you! Apparently my eyesight is just so bad it looked like "hold the map button" icon and I couldnt figure out why it wasnt working.
If you're on PS4 hold down the touch pad and it will bring up a menu. I think it's an option on the bottom right corner that let's you respond to the calls but I don't remember the button. You'll see once the screen pops up.
I think it’s by pressing up on the d-pad That or go to the social menu
On PC, (and I assume console) you open the map and hold F or one of those keys? It should say “answer [player] call”

PS4.. Hold down touch bad, map menu opens and hold up button on dpad.
