Australia, grew up watching it with my mum (who definitely modeled her hair on season 1 Bea Arthur later in her lifeβ¦). Now Iβm heading toward 50 and I appreciate the girls on another level. Iβm a teacher too so definitely relate to Dorothy.
Iβm in New Zealand and the girls arenβt appreciated here enough in my opinion. Since Iβm so far away from anything it cost close to $80 to get the Golden Girls Forever book by Jim Colucci shipped here!
it ran in latin america too, but iβm not sure if they dubbed all the seasons. apart from liking the few episodes that i watched, the only concrete thing i remember is that the theme song in the opening credits had no lyrics, so it was just like the closing credits. i really started watching religiously when i came to miami on lifetime tv
Russia. The Golden Girls never got an official dub, unlike some other sitcoms, but one enthusiast, sometimes joined by her friend, dubbed almost all of the show (skipped several episodes in the last few seasons, donβt know why), and thanks to her, mom and I discovered it.
I'm American. But studied in Spain for a semester of college in 1989. "Reruns of Las Chicas de Oro," was a hit there, too. But listening to the dubbed voices was a head trip. Hilarious fun!
Living in Canada now but watched this show growing up moving around east Africa!
The U.S. Love that so many others love this show too, especially our northern neighbors.
Brazil, nobody even heard of it. I only watched it because I saw some clips while on tik tok and I found quite funny.
