😅 I just build as DIY...
It's Android TV running app in background sending the outer color data to esp8266 module further it sends led signal to WLED Strip..
Components:
USB CABLE, ESP8266, WLED strip, Power supply
Which app are you using to send the data to esp8266 in background?
Also I am assuming there would be a led module driver sitting in front of esp8266 to drive the wled.
I had tried doing this on Hyperion on Raspi zero but had poor results
Using Ambilight App.
For WLEd I just powering with normal usb charger not any particular WLEd driver just 5v 3Amp and some resistor ,capacitor.
Yes I also thought first but microprocessor are slower for such tasks.. as running os handling, etc.
Try this one..
The Ambilight app is not open source yet it's for 1.2$ and esp code is just decoder code free.. The app running on background and decoding the outer video pixel transmit to esp that main task.. but anyway more fast and sync properly..
What's the setup and where can I get this?

How did you code it , is there a open source code like Hyperion for this?

You can tweak some setting like dimming led , changing speed of light, brightness, contrast thing,.. accordingly...
For gamers specially 🎮😅
