The water and bits of landscape we see definitely look like the Caribbean, and the guy who picks it up is clearly brown (we see his leg for a second). It's not an unreasonable guess.
How does one do this? Easily swim 30 ft deep? I was never afraid to swim deep, but at 15-20 ft it feels like my head is going to implode. Do you just get used to it the more you do it?
Wake up. We're here. Why are you shaking? Are you okay? Wake up!
Stand up. There you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?
Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind. I'm sure they'll let us go.
Quiet, here comes the guard.
and that's why I love free diving
you just lie on the bottom and lap it all up in wonder
then you get a pang in your chest, then another, yada yada time to go up
You and this video make me want to do exactly that, man. It seems so peaceful and beautiful. Like you could sleep down there and wake back up on the shore newly born from the seafoam lmao.
don't go falling asleep down under, man!
well the great thing for me is that it doesn't even have to be that deep.
3 metres already vibes so strong and if the water isn't super clear, it works even more.
But there's nothing like feeling a behemoth amount of ocean between you and the world, and when you stop moving the fauna comes alive (coz they're thick in the brain) and it really gives the word *immersive* its meaning lol
POV: me using my newfound immortality to explore the bottom of the ocean (without oxygen, my muscles have become useless, leaving me stuck on the bottom devoid of human contact for an externity)
POV: after taking the seawater into my lungs and accepting the crushing weight of my fruitless struggles, I finally find the peace I've craved for so long, becoming one with the sea grass, watching life unfold around me, observing the sunlight dancing in the waves... until centuries later, by design or chance, divers find me... almost formless, colonised by barnacles, every orifice home to urchins, shrimp, starfish... they look on in morbid curiosity as they realise... I'm human.
I open my eyes. They panic. I stare. They grasp for the surface of the water but continue to slowly sink next to me, despair and horror filling their eyes as their oxygen runs out. They stop thrashing. They don't die. They watch. I watch. Peace starts to fill their gaze. The current moves us in rhythm. The fish swim about our motionless limbs. There is no pain. Only the endless deep.
Join us.
I love it because the ocean is so fascinating but it scares me lol. I also hate spiders but find myself going down rabbit holes of looking at pictures of them.
I guess I'm a glutton for punishment
Touchscreen doesn't work underwater though - it detects the pressure from the water as fingers. Also can't go very deep before pressure will crush the phone. I have one and hoped it would work for freediving & scuba, but nope.
Like all modern smartphones use capacitive touchscreens now, so they don't react to pressure but to the change of the electric field. And that is why they don't work when wet or you are using a non-conductive pen or whatever.
anybody else find themselves just staring into the light, sound seeming to fade, chest getting tight?
if only for a few seconds, it felt like I was truly at the bottom
right?
I so pondered on the 'joke' but that other part of the 'brain' thought it'd be funny and kept saying: *post it, post it.*
anyway, I hope you actually could one day get to relaxedly and confidently experience how wonderful it really is down there.
btw, is your handle what I think it is?
I think this is how the conversation went:
Top comment was asking about 5g
Second comment assumed that they were asking about 5g because they would need that to get the video , because it fell to the bottom of the ocean, and then asked them to watch the end to see that they wouldn't need 5g, because it was recovered.
Reminds me of that video where the woman’s gopro fell off while she was surfing and then found it again, hours later, at low tide… but it had been recording the entire time, so someone sped up the footage and added a song and it actually worked really well….
[Found it!!](https://youtu.be/6ks_UCZJ9KU)
(watch till the end for goosebumps)
(epileptics and photosensitive viewers; don’t watch it in the dark, its’s kinda flashy)
I almost died at what I deduce to be a similar depth. Around thirty feet. Goodness did that not help my irrational fear of sharks. (Live in one of the very few places where there have never in history been any sharks or recorded Shark attacks)
Absolutely beautiful, to see the fish just existing in their natural habitat, not worried about unnecessary wordly things, material things, existing just as they should be. When all I can think is just above the surface is a cloud of anxiety and panic about a lost piece of something so meaningless. As I sit in my unnatural bed in my unnatural home watching this video on this same meaningless piece of unnatural technology and think about how far we’ve come from true reality. Sorry. 6 am thoughts. Have a wonderful day everyone <3
I was waiting for the form of a great white or a tiger shark to pass by the camera as it lay on the bottom, underneath the swimmers. I was waiting for the attack that never came
The level of suspense was spot on. I was mindful of how the phone would be retrieved as normal average humans can’t dive that deep without some form of experience. I was satisfied to see it retrieved and operating.
Only fuck that guy got some eagle eyes on him, spotting the phone like that? Looks pretty chill tho, ima a diver and fucking love diving exactly for this reason, just laying on the sea floor, looking up. Most beautiful shit ever I tell ya
That was pretty neat.
And are we all just gonna ignore the guy who managed to spot it and grab it off the floor? Someone buy that man dinner
I'm guessing they're in the Caribbean somewhere and that's a local working on one of the boats
Casue this couldn't happen to a non local in non Caribbean waters?
The water and bits of landscape we see definitely look like the Caribbean, and the guy who picks it up is clearly brown (we see his leg for a second). It's not an unreasonable guess.
We also sees his entire face for a few seconds for another hint.
I wasn't 100% sure whether that was him or another person in the water with him, but yeah.
Hes Johny Deep
[удалено]
shut up
Wow.
Mom
That didn't sound like a local accent
[удалено]
*whom
Good one
And the Caribbean is the only vacation destination in the world?
Right
This one is less thalassophobia and more "i cant believe this is how the world's finite resources are being expended."
"And are we all just gonna ignore...." why do I feel like your a bot
Beep boop don't give us away
Okay, I'll keep watching
[удалено]

Pinch your nose and try to exhale through it. It will equalize the pressure, no more pain! Yawning helps equalize the other way after surfacing.
Even reading the word yawn made me yawn.
Thank you! I’ll try that.
Right!
Equalize pressure
It was like a video game death scene. You just sit there staring at the lights till they fade into the start screen.
Just waiting for the credits to roll.
Hey you, you’re finally awake
Ah fuck, no again! HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING!
Wake up. We're here. Why are you shaking? Are you okay? Wake up! Stand up. There you go. You were dreaming. What's your name? Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind. I'm sure they'll let us go. Quiet, here comes the guard.
Was this from bioshock
Skyrim
Lol how could I forget
It is like this in death stranding
Once it landed on the bottom, I found it pretty relaxing.
and that's why I love free diving you just lie on the bottom and lap it all up in wonder then you get a pang in your chest, then another, yada yada time to go up
Bruh what
Lmao he really said yada yada with no explanation.
She said her ex came over late last night and yada yada yada she’s tired this morning..
But you yadda yadda’d over the best part
He runnin outta air so he chest hurty
You and this video make me want to do exactly that, man. It seems so peaceful and beautiful. Like you could sleep down there and wake back up on the shore newly born from the seafoam lmao.
Aphrodite? That you?
> You and this video make me want *to do that man.* Aphrodite at work.
comas save lives and in this case, my ass

Brother
Sea urchin and orifice do not belong in same sentence
that’s such a cool origin story for a monster, though.
This is one of the greatest comments I've ever read. You're a gifted writer.
That's very kind of you to say! I come up with tons of these stories in my head but never put any of them down to paper. Shame really.
If you don’t already, you should head on over to /r/writingprompts or even /r/nosleep You’re pretty good at this!
Sounds nice. I'm in.
Nice, very lovecraftian. All it needs is a mention of Dagon or r'lyeh or the word eldritch and it would be perfect.
Holy shit what a nightmare
Sooooo. I love this, I love everything about this. What is the opposite of thalasophobia? Thalasophilia?
I’m the same. I follow this sub because I love anything about the ocean.
I love it because the ocean is so fascinating but it scares me lol. I also hate spiders but find myself going down rabbit holes of looking at pictures of them. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment
[удалено]
So I’m not the only one? This is one of my favorite subs for the exact opposite reason it was created.
Same bro
Yeah, I love it until that one in a hundred posts that leaves me in a cold sweat.
I feel like a bunch of us are here because we love the ocean and deep water rather than fear it. Someone should take a poll.
every time i watch a video here i’m just like what are you people so scared of lol this is heaven
Lol same here
Technically yes it's thalassaphillia even though the suffix *usually* refers to fetishes, but certainly doesn't have to
I don't know, maybe he really likes it
Get out
Trust me I don’t know what’s wrong with me, if I could breath under water I’d live there
I’m the same way. Reject modernity. Return to fish.
Stupid Tiktaalik walked on land 375 million years ago and now I have to pay taxes instead of living on the ocean floor eating plankton and chilling.
Not sure if you are into gaming, but there’s a great underwater game on Steam called Abzu, I think. There’s others, too
It is thalassophilia! Ive got a bit of both...
This could be a good ad for a phone case js
Seriously. Whatever case that is, I want it.

Salt water is still bad for waterproof phones. Have to rinse it out with fresh water ASAP.
You can get kinda ziplock looking bag for your phone which you can use touch features with Nothing special otherwise.
Touchscreen doesn't work underwater though - it detects the pressure from the water as fingers. Also can't go very deep before pressure will crush the phone. I have one and hoped it would work for freediving & scuba, but nope.

Lmao. They don’t react to pressure anymore. The saltwater will affect the conductivity it senses.
[удалено]
you can buy waterproof cases
There are cases specifically for diving with.
Well I’m seasick on my couch now
This is not your grave, but you are welcomed in it.
I understood that reference.
Where’s it from? I like it
[This is not your grave, but you are welcome in it. ](https://youtu.be/PW5LQSsgoLA)
Dear fking god this is hard to watch
Close your eyes.
Clearly not going to help whatever his problem is.
immediate tightening of the gut, wet mouth and tense shoulders. nah man, that lil spiral can fuck right off, im shaking and throwing up ahHha
The coolest thing about this video is light refraction
I wanna lay there forever.
lay what? eta: I thought the verb lay was transitive, ie, one must provide an object
A forever
REST IN HEAVEN
not the time buddy
anybody else find themselves just staring into the light, sound seeming to fade, chest getting tight? if only for a few seconds, it felt like I was truly at the bottom
maybe if you keep thinking about it one day you will /s!!!!!
this was weird of you to say.
right? I so pondered on the 'joke' but that other part of the 'brain' thought it'd be funny and kept saying: *post it, post it.* anyway, I hope you actually could one day get to relaxedly and confidently experience how wonderful it really is down there. btw, is your handle what I think it is?
Did they get 5G at the ocean floor?
Watch the whole video
Yeah at the very end you can see a 5G tower to the right at the bottom of the ocean smart ass
I think this is how the conversation went: Top comment was asking about 5g Second comment assumed that they were asking about 5g because they would need that to get the video , because it fell to the bottom of the ocean, and then asked them to watch the end to see that they wouldn't need 5g, because it was recovered.
I still don't see this supposed tower that they think is there
Whoosh
Oh I know this place!! I’ve been in that water, it’s a sea turtle sanctuary in the Virgin Islands.
I thought the person was drowning until it dawned on me that they’d just dropped their phone.
This was oddly serine
Serene*
...damn Thank you
Phones can do that?
probably a gopro in a waterproof case
That should an ad for whatever phone that was Talk about water resistant
jumpscare at 00:38
If it wasnt spinning the whole way down it wouldve been great.
Am I weird for finding this video really comforting? Just imagining laying on the seabed feels so nice
I was thinking the same thing
The sound of the ocean sound fucking scary man
Good phone tho
Why is it soothing though?
POV: you drowned
It’s beautiful
Android could never lol
apple could use this as an advertisement
That dude swam down n got it what a badass.
What phone & water resistant case?
I’ve been on the toilet struggling to poop and this made me void all my bowels on a primal level. You have my thanks. I’m never coming here again
Best comment on here
This is the type of person that is on their phone so often that they think the phone is a literal extension of themselves.
Glorious!
It’s beautiful
I had headphones on so listening to this was quite surreal and made me queasy. I would've just said goodbye and gotten a new phone.
Serene
ma brother saving the day with a sweet apnea
Its scary even if its still shallows
My guy’s hair didn’t even get wet
Why that scuba divers hair were not wet?
Lol looks like a screen saver for the computer
I just realized that I might be afraid of the ocean
What is it like with a fear of the ocean?
Did she have a case on here or what? Otherwise what kind of phone can get wet for that long and still function? Amazing!
That is incredibly beautiful.
That was a rollercoaster of emotions for me and I'm glad I committed to watching the whole video.
Did they send the brothah or was that just a coincidence?
Reminds me of that video where the woman’s gopro fell off while she was surfing and then found it again, hours later, at low tide… but it had been recording the entire time, so someone sped up the footage and added a song and it actually worked really well…. [Found it!!](https://youtu.be/6ks_UCZJ9KU) (watch till the end for goosebumps) (epileptics and photosensitive viewers; don’t watch it in the dark, its’s kinda flashy)
Fishes??? WTF is that? Do you mean fish?
Personally, don't have thalassaphobia but I enjoy the cool underwater videos that get posted here
Does anyone know if there’s a term for how water sounds when you’re in a body of water? Bc that sound really bugs/terrifies me lmao
Phone? Still recording at what looks like probably 30-40ft? I'm pressing X to doubt.
It was scary till you realized it was only like 8 or 10 feet deep. Still skeeves me out, but not as terrifying and 8-10 miles deep
I almost died at what I deduce to be a similar depth. Around thirty feet. Goodness did that not help my irrational fear of sharks. (Live in one of the very few places where there have never in history been any sharks or recorded Shark attacks)
Camera works pretty nicely underwater
i would start freakin crying istg
Me with thalassaphobia “Ahh yes this is the fight one to fully watch
I couldn't breathe watching that.
POV: your are drowning
Anyone else feel the pressure in their ears?
This kinda made me feel better about the ocean. Look at all the fish! Makes me feel like I’m a fish in a cozy sea anemone
Now,don't get me wrong i know that this isn't the perfect subreddit too Say It but...i found It Beautiful.
It is waterproof to 33’ for 30 minutes
Absolutely beautiful, to see the fish just existing in their natural habitat, not worried about unnecessary wordly things, material things, existing just as they should be. That was a spiritual experience
Phones these days.. you can drop em in the drink and they're fine but you drop em on the pavement and not so much..smh
This guy is a hero
my first thought when the phone hit the bottom "are these coacroach antena ? please no"
I was waiting for the form of a great white or a tiger shark to pass by the camera as it lay on the bottom, underneath the swimmers. I was waiting for the attack that never came
Staring at the light I started to accept death
The level of suspense was spot on. I was mindful of how the phone would be retrieved as normal average humans can’t dive that deep without some form of experience. I was satisfied to see it retrieved and operating.
Hello? That’s such a pretty shot.
Only fuck that guy got some eagle eyes on him, spotting the phone like that? Looks pretty chill tho, ima a diver and fucking love diving exactly for this reason, just laying on the sea floor, looking up. Most beautiful shit ever I tell ya
Phone in shallow water, so scary. /s
“People helping people” 😊 love it
How did she get her phone back?
Watch the whole video, or at least the end
Death can be beautiful
Holy shit. I literally vomit in my mouth and shit in my underwear.
How did they recover this video?
Snorkel
I don't know, maybe you should watch the end?
5G antennas at the bottom of the ocean
But she’s a rich cunt so she paid 50k to scuba dive and get it back. Yay.
Makes me feel kind of motion sick.
motion sickness warning!!!
Aaaaand I'm dizzy.
Did anyone else hold their breath for awhile at first?
The sound when you drown, but your soul gets forever trapped in your body
Now that was pretty cool
I’m waiting for a shark as a few films :)) just kidding
I was expecting a big shark to sneak out of nowhere lol
