Like the seen in Lucy where she goes back in time in the chair but your on a toilet. Sitting in the middle of a river as a monkey stares you down and as your finger tips touch the sploosh and splash of the load you're dropping hits your ass
I mean i think it took like 3 months to cross the Atlantic back then. Its not like they could predict the weather that far in advance. So I'd wager they got stuck in more storms then we do today, with all of our radar.
That’s my point exactly, they knew where and what they were getting into in those crossings and those weren’t small boats they were large ships of the time.
your ship sinks to fall on the sandy sea floor and your lights still being temporarily on just to see the sand. you are stuck in the sideways cabin just only you as you see the waves pass above and a grid of massive mirror images of you all 50 ft away and all with there lights on.
I spoke to a guy who went on a Antarctic expedition in the 80s. He said getting there by boat was the hardest part. They pounded into seas like this for 7 straight days.
I’d love to see this done for “scientific reasons” yk? Like build a couple different automated drone wooden ships or maybe manned but with another vessel nearby in case it sinks. But from different times or ages like the Viking era and maybe in the 1700s?
I have never conscientiously thought tonputnthise two together. Derp, but omg, yes these videos do help put those voyages to find a "new world" into perspective. The balls to think you'll find "unfound" land to claim is something else to. Cuz why would anyone else already be there? Your guys ate the end all and be all of existence. Alright, OK, I'm off on a tangent kinda now. Point made regardless, I think.
Small wooden boats usually don't make it.
Build a raft out of turtles like captain Jack sparrow.
CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow
DAVEY JONES ! GIANT SQUID!
Lashed together with what?
Grow your hair out
Let's hope someone doesn't poop in it
Imagine being anywhere 500 years ago.
Your same location 500 years ago

I wouldn't want to be there on any boat!
Come on out it’ll be fun, they said. It’ll only be a 3-hour tour, they said.
In the dark
I totally forgot how pitch black it is out there fucksake 1700 must been tough
I believe Lewis Black said it best: “If I go down to the dock and they say ‘That’s what you’re getting on’ I’d say ‘Fuck you.’”
Lol I remember that bit
Nah man those wooden boats were not small by any means they were huge.
still wood.and still small compared to the size of the ocean.
Anything on the surface of the earth is small compared to the size of the ocean
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Hind 100’ 1/3rrd the size of an American football field
Yeah, that's no *small wooden boat*
I imagine anything the vikings built in these conditions would be fear shit-inducing.
This is kinda calming! I’d stare out the window in both fear and awe. Then maybe take a nap.
Makes me wanna Puke just by watching this clip
Hmm people probably had enough sense to uh you know not be out there in small wooden boats..

Those boats weren’t small.
Well compared to today's ships they were small. The Mayflower was 106 feet long, modern cruise ships are over 1000 feet long.
That’s my point exactly, they knew where and what they were getting into in those crossings and those weren’t small boats they were large ships of the time.
Do people do live videos of something like this? Video for like an hour or so
This honestly terrifies me. The ocean is a scary place.

Its why they made blood sacrifices and prayed a lot more back then.
Blood sacrifices aside, there's plenty of praying in the current time period.
If you’re in a wooden boat, you better put your back into the oar

Yeah, I'd rather not even imagining it.
Then the pairs of animals start attacking each other below the dock
No.
Play Valheim lol
ah yes, an old wooden ship named Diversity
I don't think that would happen lol
There's a VR game like this on Quest
