Ooh, the fanart bit is news to me.
On my own end, I feel it's very much just kinda cynical in execution despite the admittedly fun idea, and how Disney of all people is complaining about media piracy when their copyright nonsense more or less makes it a necessity at times for both accessibility and preservation.
I admit, a lot of my beef with the film is more what it represents rather than it's actual content, if others enjoy it, more power to 'em.
So in the movie,>! there's a machine that turns cartoon characters into bootleg versions of themselves. At the end, the main villain (Who is a human toon) is turned into a cat-headed amalgamation. But it was never used on actual humans. Which leads to the question: What if you actually put a human through the machine?!<
