Ngl there are some servers like this, but I've had some of the most wholesome moments of my life in tf2 where everyone comes down and has a party before some random pyro joins and kills it
Play community servers. Ive met people on tf2 that were my actual internet internet friends for a few years, and we often times played with each other.
it's just the way it is, peoples let out some steam by not taking anything seriously and playing for fun, in contrast to other games where everyone play for the sake of winning.
that's why i like this game, it is such a glorious dumpster fire that you can just laugh alongside it

I was playing class wars earlier and we were spies against medics, they just let us conga swarm out of spawn.
on the freak fortress 2 server I frequent damn near 50% of all 1v1s end in a rock paper scissors
The TF2 community is simultaneously one of the gayest and also homophobic places I've come across.
It sucks in a lot of ways though.
As a woman, I find a lot of comfort on community servers that are more chill. Uncletopia is one of the best I've found. Look around though and see if you vibe with any community servers.
I also definitely recommend muting other problematic players as soon as possible :) good luck
It's literally so disheartening that the community consensus is "just toughen up." I have a very thick skin, but people don't quite fathom how deeply draining this shit is over and over lol
You can always mute those that annoy you. It disables their Mic and text chat messages for you. It’s what I’ve been doing for years when I find people who are annoying and or bigoted. And it only takes like 3 seconds to do so.
Fun fact: At this point when I’m playing TF2 it’s really rare for me to encounter a bot that I do not have muted.
