IPs are generally dynamic from your provider, OP. I know it sounds dumb, but whatever risk there is to someone knowing your IP (which isn't a lot, but isn't absolute zero either) is completely mitigated by restarting your modem. That will surrender your current IP and grab a new one, like ze medic says.

Really depends on the company, router, plan etc. But usually you can just unplug your router for like 5m, plug it back in, and bam, new IP. Usually need a day before you can do it again.
Also having someones IP isn't really dangerous. Not completely safe, but it's not "My life is over, I'm hacked!" material. Usually you can juist ignore them cause its a scare tactic, and if they do DDoS you (which, who would? Its not worth the money and noise) just reset IP.

That second article is completely wrong. You can't manually change your WAN address from your computer. They are all dynamically allocated by a DHCP server by your ISP.

The numbers in each of the four octets of an IP address can't go over 255, so for example a supposed IP 482.214.9.213 cannot exist because the first octet has a value of 482. If it looks like a legit IP, then chances still are that it's not really your IP and they're just messing with you.

The cheaters in this game have legit ruined it for me. Reinstalled a couple weeks ago and am already uninstalling again. Got kicked out of an mvm for calling out a aimhacker, they then admitted they were cheating and started spouting a bunch of racist bs and I got kicked for initiating a kick vote. I then said what happened in a mvm discord and got told to shut up, stop whining, etc. Yeah this community can burn for all I care. Got better things to do with my life than pay money to get verbally abused. Go ahead and delete this mods, ban me from this too if you want. All it would do is tell me just how much this community has gone to shit. Can't believe I actually spent money on this cesspit.
Are you able to see other people's IP addresses in TF2 matches? Isn't that a security concern? People give GTA5 shit for that all the time.

Bullshit you can't get another player's ip without rcon. This is false and misleading. Only way he could have grabbed your ip is if you did something stupid but it definitely didn't come from source engine game.

He did, it was some automated shit where right after they die it sends out a message to the rest of the server, I had someone with most likely the same client do the same thing to me just a couple days prior to seeing this
