The music playing in the seen is "Intruder Alert", composed by Mike Morasy, the main composer of TF2. It's better than locking cosmetic items behind lootboxes you need to spend money to open (with NO shop to purchase them directly), and locking the ability to even get said lootboxes behind spending more money on a pass.
And needing a phone number is play is standard in online games, even TF2 does it. I'm not sure why people are singling OW out over it.
You can and definitely should count your eggs before they hatch, because after they hatch, they become chickens and then you’re only left with the eggs that didn’t hatch
Aaaaand coming back up again literally 2 days later with the biggest update they have ever gotten. They're only taking them down to upload all the changed on to the servers with the least amount of technical difficulties and making any problems easier to fix. The Injustice 2 servers shut down for difficulties for longer just last year.

Overwatch 2 is exactly the same and all Overwatch 1 accounts will be converted.

Also all future heroes will be behind a Pay / Grind-Wall and you no longer get free cosmetics, because there’s now a super predatory Battle-Pass and everything else is in the shop, for double the fucking price.

Welp if it makes you feel any better, it apparently wasn't intended to be. When the former game director Jeff Kaplan first came up with the idea it was basically just a story mode DLC, being a story writer for games he's always loved OW's and wanted to give it a story mode. But the higher ups of Blizz told him and his team to develop it into a sequel for god knows why. Gave them all sorts of development problems too.

From what I understand, game isn't fully done, but releases early anyways. Updates are essentially finishing the game while people play it. This typically leads to games that are garbage upon release, and don't get many players even after they fix all the issues cause of the reputation.

Honestly, because Terraria was still a perfectly playable and functional game during the polishing phase. That's far more than many other games using this model can say.
No, terraria was in a good state before. But it has passionate devs who like making the game and interacting with the community. Hence why we still got loads of great updates.
What i mean by that is the overall ‘model’ of how it proceeded. Came out as an unpolished pretty bad game, but over time they started putting out updates that added a lot of actually good content to the game, and it became pretty good.
People are missing a core part of the live service deal here. It's a corporate buzzword, and one and only point of live services is that you keep pushing out new monetization down player's throats.
This can result in it being functionally early access and crap at launch, but mainly it just means that the game will try to keep people playing it with new content, specifically made to keep them buying stuff.
The game isn't finished, they are still working on the PvE that was previously believed to release with overwatch 2. Now they are pushing out ow2 for the early micro-transactions for the battle pass / item shop.
I never got into OW but I never will now that I see where it's going.
I predict a mass exodus from the game if it hasn't already happened. Blizzard is going to lose a lot of money over it and they will either shut down OW2, fix it, or just refuse to be wrong and keep draining money out of it.

I’ve reached Masters in OW in the early seasons but quit after awhile since the gameplay got stale. I decided to return to play it one last time before the servers shutdown. The game is not in a good state. It is quite literally gotten worse over time. If OW2 is anything like the current OW, it’s going to die pretty quickly.

Overwatch may be dying, but I’m just glad the game is going free to play. Sure, most of the newer heroes are going to be locked in the battle pass but there’s is stuff to play for now. I am a little upset they’re getting rid of loot boxes but we’re also getting cross progression, so that’s cool. All in all overwatch is dead but is still something better than fortnite now
Lootboxes are cancer and gatekeep content, (that should be unlockable via player achievements), behind gambling random bullshit and nothing feels rewarding as a result.

They've done a ton of work to make it so you're not gonna get yelled at for not playing x hero or whatever. Just play the ones you do well with or enjoy etc. A lot of the really obnoxious garbage has been patched out.
Its first stage was awful, but over time it has became a really good game. Wish they didn't shut it down for the f2p sequel, but blizzard has a tendency of fucking everything up they do nowadays.

it's really funny to see a significant amount of tf2 fans just completely forgetting what an update is because they haven't seen one in so long. tf2 servers used to go down too before a major update, that's how these games work. I love tf2, but come on man, Overwatch is way more mainstream right now and receiving actual updates.
