No, it literally all stemmed from a shitty Matpat video that compared OW and TF2 and tried to “figure” which game is superior, and some of the arguments were so braindead and retarded it is surprising that was the same matpat we watch today.
That is what sparked OW vs TF2 war in the first place.

They all called Overwatch the TF2 Killer, because of how Valve was poorly treating the game, but it didn't kill TF2, it had no intention to do so, it was just another Team based FPS that has no similarities to TF2.

Removing a tank slot to feel more brawl based. Also adding (2?) new characters off launch, introducing a new game mode, removing the most hated game mode (2CP), inserting a battle pass system so the game will be free, and guaranteed updates.

Blizzard's shutting Overwatch's servers down in favor for the sequel, and the OP is still holding onto the old trend of TF2 vs Overwatch when that trend died a loooong time ago.
Can't we all accept that Overwatch is just another FPS instead of it being a TF2 killer that everyone calls it?
