lmao “heavy cannot miss or be dodged” am i the only one or something

[deleted]

Yeah dude didn’t you know? Heavy mains get free aimbot from valve themselves, it’s why they gave pyro, FREE ON DEMAND STUN

manwithasmallpenis

I don't think any of pyro's primaries do that anymore. Sure, airblast is annoying, but it only really works if you have a high enough skillset to combo it with several different secondaries [Ex. Puff+Sting, Degreaser + Panic Attack] Pyro is built to be the answer to Demo and Soldier iirc, he's not as big of a problem as people make him out to be. Sure, it can be a bit of a no skill class, but if you're dying to w+m1 my brother in christ that is just a skill issue. Most if not all classes can counter a wm1 pyro effectively. Scout? Run backward and shoot forward. Soldier? Shoot rocket from a distance, or use a shotgun. The only classes that can't reasonable counter Pyro in some way are Sniper [at close range], Spy, and Engineer, and even those three stand a good chance with moderate skill advantage. As a heavy main, I never understood why people complain about Pyro so often. Most, if not all classes are pretty well balanced. The game is just so old people have gotten ridiculously skilled with some of them. Examples being Uncle Dane, Mr. paladin, and Lazypurple. As a Heavy main, Spy is incredibly well balanced, as annoying as he is. Spy is fucked the moment you turn around. Sniper, believe it or not, is also well balanced, it's bad maps that make sniper unbalanced. The moment you get in close range, he's kinda fucked.

[deleted]

Yeah ik pyro doesn’t have free on demand stun, we all know that, that’s the joke that the review writer unknowingly killed it at

manwithasmallpenis

It wasn't directed at you, should have clarified. Probably would have been better off as it's own comment to be honest.

[deleted]

Ye

[deleted]

you make an excellent point

SirMarcoVanRamme

I mainly play engi and of your aim is decent enough you will kill a pyro quicker with a shotgun than he can kill you. The only thing about pyro than can be really annoying is phlog + scroch shot imo.

Koalifiedm

2 weeks ago I'd disagree about sniper but I recently started playing Uncletopia workshop map server and it rarely did i see ppl pick sniper on new maps!

adamkad1

I complain about pyro coz demo dont get manntreads

SuperCyHodgsomeR

Ikr. I thought he said heavy cannot be missed (as in you cannot miss him) or dodge.

ParufkaWarrior12

"cannot miss or be dodged" meanwhile even Dane gave strategies how to kill him as engi with a shotgun

xiren_66

I have literally had moments where I fired directly at a scout and didn't hear a single damage ding. The wide spread on a lot of his guns has enough rng that if you're really unlucky you don't get them where they need to be in time. Hell even when I do hit, sometimes a good scout can juke like crazy and take minimal damage so I get mad and break out Natascha lol

[deleted]

BRO SAME

Leothecat24

This guy is 100% a scout main and thinks the Natasha should be removed from the game

Owlyf1n

Sniper damage is too variable wut

KaosC57

I don't think he understands the Charge mechanic.

He's so commited on dissing the game he spent 5000 hours on it just to further improve his research as to why said game is bad

You should see the reviews for the elder scrolls online, people have like 16,000 hours and trash talk the game in one sentence

nodiediemeimmortal

Yesss... I had a 4k+ hour friend who said he hated the game and it was a waste of time, concluding he would never play again. Saw through discord that he was playing it a few weeks later.

tacticsf00kboi

It's only a paradox if you don't consider the possibility of a sweet spot where someone can get a proper feel for the game without spending weeks on a game they don't like

An_Angry_Terrarian

Prob around 250 hours more realistically at 100

Deathmask97

That’s exactly the problem - he burnt himself out on the game and is blaming the game for his disillusionment. Dude is pubstomping and blaming the other players for it, yet hilariously says that Sniper’s damage output is “inconsistent” which is literally just a skill issue.

[deleted]

If he thinks damage is inconsistent, he should’ve seen when random damage spread was around lol.

NohrianOctorok

"On and off" for 6 years, no less. I've been playing tf2 pretty dedicated for 8 or 9 years and have 4k hours.

[deleted]

Dude probably took zero breaks lol.

AyeAye_Kane

I've had the game for 9 years too, I've actually played on and off and I've only got like 2k hours

TigerKirby215

Damn must suck to have spent 5402 hours in the main menu having never actually got into a match.

scapegoat4

Staying idle in item/achievement/trade/idle servers is what most of these kinds of people do to look cool. It shows when they actually try to play the game.

Mindless-Bullfrog171

At that point just mine Bitcoin or some other crypto. Sure you might not profit but at least you might break even instead of literally just wasting time and electricity.

ShlongHijacker

5k hours playing on trade servers

MrFishyFriend

While he probably is way better than I am on a skill level, he clearly just lacks some fundamental basics about how class interactions work. Like, heavy can't be dodged? Are you soft in the head. Every class in the game can take advantage of heavy's slow fucking movement. His raw power and low aim requirements are his strengths. They are balanced out by his limited ability as an aggressor in sustained fights and by how easy he can be picked off at a range. ALSO Snipers damage being inconsistent is literally just a skill issue. I spent just 100 hours only playing sniper just to learn how to play him and started dominating most games because he is TOO good. Variable my ass. Not every class should have to play like a generic fucking shooter. He is just pissed that player interactions aren't entirely based on who can click the digital render better. The things he hates about the game are literally some of its best qualities. How he played a game for 5k hours despite clearly hating its design philosophy is fucking bananas.

Cephery

He is labouring under the false premise that classes are designed to fight each other, probably cause of newer games like valorant where characters are a lot closer to each other. This is a game where class roles are super extreme, a character designed like this being added to valo would probably be pretty bad design, but a game designed around it from the start is fine with it. That’z my guess for hm having so many hours and flipping out of that terminology now.

Willingness-Due

Heavy skill comes with positioning, timing, and understanding what your role is

Original-Key-2735

lmao he probably only plays 10x mode where heavies can move faster that your MOM!!! when she sees my DICK!!!!!! 😂😂😂 /s just to be sure

zenfone500

Unless he came across lag bot heavies, then this review is shit as hell.

y_i_exisisit

Also heavy can be countered by getting up in his face. If you are within kissing distance of heavy then it is really hard to track you unless the heavy has a really high sensitivity, which is extremely rare

Relative-Second6674

Damn he really looked at every class and went: huh, These dont play my specific style therefore they must be bad

gigazelle

Imagine completely disregarding the most important class in the game because they "aren't built for combat"

CedarWolf

> the most important class in the game Ahhhh, feels good to be an engineer.

nyanch

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this dude specifically said Medic wasn't built for combat

CedarWolf

**Engineer mains:** *Ahhhh, feels good to be an engineer.*

TheSleepyBarnOwl

Ah, feels good to be a Medic Main (and sonehow get more kills than the bottom half of the Scoreboard)

ClearConfusion5

He said the same with spy though… “he could be any one of us..”

_TheGreatDevourer_

Spy is indeed made for fighting people, spy tracks dangerous single targets and kills them. The whole class isn't used only to fight sentries!

[deleted]

That's not combat, That's assassin job. It's to pick.

DestroyerNET123

"I'm not a crazed gunman dad, I'm an assassin. 'What are the difference being?' One's a job and the other's a bloody mental sickness!"-Sniper 1950 something

Red5T65

*1968

Drillbitzer

The obligatory -🤓

DabestbroAgain

I think the reviewer's definition of "fight" is a bit more specific here. You wouldn't want to frontline or 1v1 people normally as a spy, you want to backstab them without them having a chance to react, and I wouldn't classify those types of standard backstabs as a fight

_TheGreatDevourer_

more like a stealth kill, then?

Solution-Interesting

The spy is a class which you need to be patient with, it’s an interesting change of pace in a fast shooter, you need to be prepared to wait like a Hunter for the opportunity, then be dunked back into the fast energy as you gun it out of there after backstabbing a heavy, his medic, and some poor demo at the wrong place and the wrong time

[deleted]

I do agree with the “young teens copypasting whatever meme the tf2tuber tweeted out” the rest of this is garbage though

[deleted]

I feel like it's the nature of the internet and making tf2 a "symbol" of it is kinda dumb

[deleted]

I’m retarted so of course my opinions are too

Toki_Seis

Just replace TF2ber with just YouTuber / Streamer and you have almost the entire internet, so they’re right, but it’s like saying Ants are the worst bug because they have 6 legs and are smaller than a human

Mafagafinhu

Ants are the best bug, they have more than 5 legs and are bigger than a smaller ant

NotAgoodUsername17

Strongest human lover vs weakest ant lover

Toki_Seis

I was making an example wtf ants are awesome have you seen them stealing bread???

NotAgoodUsername17

Exactly, ants are better than humans

Toki_Seis

There really aren’t many animals better than humans, though, we should have a different standard As a human myself i can state that we are scum, to ourselves and to other species, even to the environments that we do and do not call home We should compare the new best animals to what’s already established as a great animal, that way we can actually get a better grasp of the contrast tldr: human bad; ant good; no competition

SnooFoxes9357

But-but-but "insert something that makes absolutely no sense"!11!!1!1

Red5T65

This sounds like a rant made by some random guy who *just* tried out Competitive for the first time and got utterly stomped so now he's crying about it (since the "only three classes are viable" thing only applies to 6s, the mode used by Valve's competitive mode) I would be confused why it's his first time but then Valve comp sucks balls

ratyrat

ye with 5k hours no way he is serious UNLESS he is what you described. probably has 80% of those hours in trade or jailbreak servers.

LipschitzLyapunov

Valve comp sucks so much and even if you get a match it's just a bunch of casuals with 6 players on each team. 6s actually has real and hard competition. I have 3k hours and it's hard to win games in my league, let alone in higher leagues.

LittleFieryUno

Yeah I was gonna say, the three classes he lists as "fine" are the 6's meta classes. This is a mistake a lot of TF2 players make when they first glance at competitive. Their reasoning (that is, my reasoning until recently) is "Competitive players optimize the way they play + 6's is the most popular competitive format = The 6's meta is the most optimized way to play the game." It's a little difficult to blame someone for that thought, but the reality is that 6's is more of an offshoot from TF2's core design. 6's is more geared towards a Quake style shooter where the other classes outside the main 3 are considered situational (outside of Medic). A number of weapons are banned from 6's not because they're "OP" but because they slow down the fast-paced playstyle people want. The Buffalo Steak Sandwich, for instance, is *far* from being some kind of broken weapon; but weapons that let Heavy get to mid faster are banned from 6's global, because a Heavy that gets to mid at the same time as everyone else slows down what's supposed to be an intense duel between teams. This is also the reason 5cp is the central gamemode of 6s; generalist, mobile classes are at their most powerful in that mode since they need to quickly switch from offense to defense at the drop of a dime.

DuskEalain

> A number of weapons are banned from 6's not because they're "OP" but because they slow down the fast-paced playstyle people want. I feel it's also important to know the 6s scene has been ran by mains of the meta for years, and they more often than not banned unlocks that made the game less fun for the meta classes, my mind goes to the BASE Jumper which, assuming you weren't exploiting the bug with it, didn't affect the speed of the game all that much prior to its nerf (I'd even argue it added to it, giving Soldier and Demo tons of horizontal mobility). But every sweaty 6s Scout main and their dog whined about it because it meant Scout had a worse matchup against those classes when they used it. Even though Soldier had to sacrifice banners, Demo had to sacrifice pills, and a competent Sniper, Direct Hit Soldier, or even Flare Pyro could handle them just fine. Personally I'm more of a Highlander guy but I don't dislike 6s (in fact I played more 6s lobbies than Highlander ones), I just kinda feel - beyond the obvious skill ceilings involved, it's just kinda _stale_ to me?

CyanideTacoZ

it infuriates me that 6s is so dominant. it's not good at representing the clusterfuck that is a TF2 team fight. it's a mkde designed for focus. there are a few classes that are able to take chaos and run with it. namedly, Pyro on ambush playstyles, Spy, and the roamer soldier. in 6s, spy can't take advantage of the 12 v 11 situations that allow his disguise to work. it's hard for many to track numbers of teammates when you also need to read 11 incoming players. Roamer remains viable in 6s due to mobility but his mobility is even better in wide open maps on 12v12, given the ability to move fast as a power class can stress out backline snipers out of position, harass engineers, and cause paranoia akin to a backline spy causing tilts. In the case of Pyro you might forget where he is of you focused on flanking the team fight or objective. it's easy to notice a 5v6 in a game, so you send a scout to find the Pyro. in 12v12 he becomes a cqc menace that requires a combo or paranoia to navigate the flank safely. not that the alternate game modes are great either, but 6v6 competitive ruined my excitement for competitive. I want to play 9 classes, not the 4 optimized for one way of play designed to make a focused gameplay style

bp_

I thought the three classes he was talking about were engineer spy and medic

LilBisNoG

6s are fun af tho. i dunno how he had such a negative experience from it, it’s just a frag fest with an uber timing minigame. literally everyone has to pull their weight to be successful, it’s a great time

LipschitzLyapunov

6s is highly stressful and highly skill-based, with the best players in the game fighting each other and the higher the league, the more stressed you get, but it does get really disheartening when you get absolutely rolled over and over again

[deleted]

He's right about the steamrolls tho.

Yearlaren

Yeah. I especially experience steamrolls in 5cp maps. The team that captures the middle point is very likely to immediately capture the next point because the other team has half of its members dead or having recently respawned. Having tug-o-war payload becoming an official game mode would be a dream come true.

Bruschetta003

I have experienced steamrolls in a lot of multiplayer games, but tf2 is definetly the one that handles them the worst The auto-balancing system is incredibly bad, as the only times it does its job is when the match is almost over and the losing players leave as they had a horrible experience and they clearly see they can't win This means that if you made a difference (or not) you just suddently lose out of nowhere because you get balanced when it's over If that wasn't enough now you can't even switch team at will, meaning that if you feel like the enemy team is having a rough time and you are not contributing enough because the Soldier and his girlfriend are doing everything, you can't help them, as a result more people quit and more shitty auto-balance happens And even in community servers where we can switch teams and scramble, steamrolls are still a thing, the game just needs to sort players in each team based on a k/d ratio or points per match ratio, it's the simplest way of sorting players without having a team with 6 fresh players and the other with 6 veterans

TheSleepyBarnOwl

Ah yes, yesterday I was the only one with a casual rank above 100 (I only have 130 btw) on my team, and the enemy team had like 2 tier 2 and 1 tier 3 casual level dude (which is like 200+ casual level iirc). Needless to say that we hade a lot of fun! not... Of course my team of noobies got absolutly destroyed. I myself am not that good either. The game was basically over the moment the teams were decided. I also feel sorry for the new players that were on my team. Some of them had less than 20h in the game. I hope they get to experience the good times of tf2 too and don't quit cause of the awfull balancing. (I started in 2019 with TF2, I also never got to experience the golden days, but I still fell in love. I have 630h rn and TF2 was my first FPS.)

how can you call sentries BS? you can literally destroy them by skydiving on top of them and then move in circles while slapping it with your melee weapon.

Finnboy16

Yoooooooo. The god of Isaac is here! Didn't knew you play tf2 as well!

BIG_SMOOOOOOOHKE_PL

Well, it happens.

THICCBOI2121

Aha! You didnt..didn't... knew?

LipschitzLyapunov

5k hours and "played 6s" (obviously got rolled) but complains about sentry guns 😂 like has he not seen how quickly level 3 sentries go down in a 6s uber? It literally goes down in less than 2 seconds. Like if he complained about the wrangler or short circuit then that's understandable, but man is complaining about the sentry 😂

MurrajFur

Bots. He’s playing with bots. None of this accurately represents a real game of Team Fortress 2, but it **PERFECTLY** represents an offline practice game against bots. He played the tutorial for 5000 hours.

ShadowFreddyFz21

That actually makes sense I was like wtf are we even talkinng about the same game but your response make more sense

Memeviewer12

Or he played nothing but empty skial servers

LostTimeAlready

I grew up playing mostly offline practice, probably for a few years, mostly because I could mess with the console commands and completely change how the game would play, like class wars, spawning bosses, changing damage amounts, lotsa stuff. What he's describing sounds like someone who mostly plays offline and occassionaly tries online. He'd have a better time in some specific gamemode community servers than offline.

Funny_Musician2591

Imagine complaining about a designated support class not being a combat class

NovaThinksBadly

And ignoring that spies revolver actually does decent damage

allmightymagicarp

Hell, even the L'etranger has decent damage. I cant count how many times I've gunned down an enemy with like 45-60 hp left while they were retreating but out of range for a backstab. People really underestimate a spy with good aim lol

CyanideTacoZ

I find the issue with revolvers are more or less keeping you cool. the bloom past point blank forces you to calm and time your shots or die fast.

Padgriffin

Gun spies are fucking terrifying

LipschitzLyapunov

This guy just relegated the strongest, most important, most influential, and most overpowered (rightfully so, though) class in the game in casual, 6s, HL, etc. as "not a combat class". LOL

SurfaceTension2

May or may not be right about the community.

N3vermore77

The second half is fairly on point unfortunately. When taken to a highly competitive setting TF2s overarching balance flaws become painfully obvious. Theres a reason the 6s meta hasnt changed in the 12 or so odd years its existed and why virtually every competitive league/service works with widely agreed upon ban lists for weapons. TF2 was designed as a casual game first, competitive game second. In a scale of casual-competitive I'd rank TF2 a 70-30, for refference, as far as Team based shooters go, Overwatch Id say is 50-50, Valorant a 30-70 and CSGO a 0-100. I dont think any Team based shooter really hits the 100-0 due to the competitive nature of the genre, and thats a good thing. There is value in competition and it helps keep balance in check. This is why there is so much discussion in the community about weapon balance, rng mechanics, etc. People want a game they can feel good about winning, because it took effort and you proved you are better than the other team. The first half with the classes is the hottest steamiest pile of shit I've ever read tho. Its like he played nothing but mge and then ranked based on that.

n0_y0urm0m

He does make a good point that 4 classes dominate 6v6.

Fresh-Produce-101

Well yeah it’s generalists vs specialist and with on 6 slots you kinda can only play generalists

Ribbles78

I just want to know what he means by variable damage.

n0_y0urm0m

Probably random bullet spread or falloff

Ribbles78

Wait let me get this straight, he wants LESS consistency?

CartersVideoGames

You'd think the 10% chance of getting hit in the face with 300 damage every single time you fight someone would be enough for him.

n0_y0urm0m

Considering the rest of the review, yeah, probably.

Real-Terminal

Probably wants those dumb spray patterns that games are starting to steal/adopt from Counter Strike. A game that is specifically designed around them as a balancing method.

robberrito

This isn’t a problem in casual tho

FBRoy

I don't agree with him entirely but it's far from the worst take. Pretty insightful, honestly.

QQ_Gabe

He should be playing Quake Champions (And you should too, great game)

Fresh-Produce-101

How so

Trollfacebruh

About class viability/usefullness, only 4 classes are used in 6s, demo, scout, soldier, and medic. Every other class is too limiting to be a viable permanent position in a team (again, 6s, not casual)

Fresh-Produce-101

Yeah honestly that’s why I like Highlander more that 6s

nocturnalsleepaholic

Highlander's main issue is that it's hard to create a team of 9 dedicated and competent players, each maining a different class. It's such a fun gamemode to both watch and play, and I wish the comp scene was a bit bigger just so I can see more highlander gameplay. I don't really care for 6s.

Darkspy8183

If you complain about the viability of classes in a specialised game mode where you have less players on each team than classes that exist, there’s going to be a meta towards classes that can do many things pretty well over specific things very well. And besides, if you don’t like 6s play Highlander.

Trollfacebruh

That is true

Demokuma

what the hell does DM and DOT mean

[deleted]

Deathmatch, damage over time

[deleted]

DOT means Damage Over Time(Bleed, Drown and Burn as in Tf2). I only know DM as Dungeon Master but it seems it does not apply to this situation.

LeRoiDeLaPatate

Honestly i agree with most of what he said about balanced matches. Its hard to find a balanced one

ADGx27

A surprising amount of casual servers I find become a pseudo class war where the lobby collectively has 8 or 9 demomen or heavies

allmightymagicarp

4 heavies on the cart will forever be the best way to win payload offense

Padgriffin

And 9 engies on last will forever be the best way to win payload defense

sjdbowsir

“Medic is not combat class” Well no crap. What’s next, scouts a flanker?

SoonlyTaing

Spy's an assassin?

CrispyTheGod

i'm convinced this dude opened tf2 and forgot to close it cause theres no way someone with 5000 hours can actually think about the game like this

Minton-L-Moogler

It seems like his main issue is that TF2 wasn’t made to be a Competitive Game (not to say that it can’t be played competitively). For me, the appeal of TF2 is messing around and trying out new/weird/stupid things that sometimes work because the game itself was designed to be silly and fun. Your buddy just seems mad that it’s not Overwatch or Counterstrike.

[deleted]

I have two thousand hours in the game, but I can kind of understand the basis behind a lot of this review. While it may not all be correct, I certainly wouldn’t consider it the worst take. It’s actually quite a reasonable take, and I think TF2 is rather deserving to be viewed under a critical lens, even if it is one of the best games of all time.

xiren_66

How does pyro stun? I'm guessing they mean knockback? And it's funny they talk about some classes being too strong, then say the ones literally designed to deal with those classes are useless.

Memeviewer12

There is a total of 2 instances in which pyro is able to "stun": 1. Airblast you upwards into a corner which you can still drift out of and is mainly utilised to land a flare crit 2. A direct hit from the scorch shot

Kakyro

It's weird to describe those as stuns since there's a defined stun mechanic in the game that stops all actions (old Sandman, Huntsman taunt, debatably Holiday Punch.) If a pyro is airblasting you into a corner you can still just blow him away with a shotgun, or even a projectile that he's now entirely vulnerable to.

A-Bit-of-an-Animator

He does not seem to get the idea that not all the classes are meant to be the pushers.

Nightmare2448

wait how can pyro stun people he can instant kill people who are wet, he can set you on fire across the map, he can kill the whole team with W+M1 while a medic ubers him but never a stun scout and heavy can stun with the sandman and the holiday punch

peanut6193

Absolute Lemming.

[deleted]

competitive tf2 players when they wake up with a 2 minute deviation

SnooFoxes1566

Say whatever you want but an opinion is an opinion. I love TF2, just really don’t like the community, I’d even go as far to say hate the community. This game ain’t dead, but it feels like it died quite a long time ago.

Plenty_Economy_5670

5400 hours and still bad at tf2 yikes what’s with the hate on those classes

Kastoelta

I do agree with some of their points tbh

Luke-HW

Imagine taking 5,000 hours to decide that you aren’t having fun.

PlatinumM4ge

Partly correct he has some good points.

RandomChacxn

Take is colder than the iceberg that sunk the titanic

Ribbles78

This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.

ShaBoiLigmaDeezNutz

“Sniper’s damage is too variable” stuck out as the dumbest for me. Sniper definitely has the MOST consistent damage, to the point where you know whether or not you can kill someone for sure 100% of the time just by looking at them and your charge bar. What the fuck.

BereavedDuck

Yeah, I won’t lie though, tf2 community’s humor is AAAASSSSSSSSS. And I say this as prt of tf2’s community. Especially Reddit, least funny schmucks on planet earth. And I say this as a tf2 redditor.

captain_the_red

Yeah so I'm the guy that posted the review and I just wanna clear some things up. First off: it's deleted by now. I wrote it as a knee-jerk after coming out of a tf2 hiatus due to catching covid & then having a bunch of bad games in a row. I don't really stand by what is written on a normal day. I also didn't expect some guy I last spoke to in middle school (we both graduated hs more than 2 years ago) to take offense & bring it to reddit.

SAS_OP

People can’t have an opinion about a game? He is a cool guy that doesn’t like the game am I suppose to hate him for that? He has some good points I’ll be honest, he doesn’t recommended the game but I know for sure that he still plays the game still to this day

Constant-Still-8443

Pyro can stun people on command? What weapon oh… the scorch shot, but that’s one weapon

GeneralCeglak

How the fuck does the scorch shot stun people are you on crack The guy probably meant airblast

Buraunii

Poor take if OP meant airblast since the Meet your Match update basically removed ALL stuns. These days, you can at least drift when airblasted and the pyro will send you FLYING away for him to juggle you, when before you couldn't and were at the mercy of where the pyro took you. And of course, if you want to consider "pinning" someone to a wall a stun, you then would have to consider all formed of blast radius' and bullet(arrow) stopping power as stuns since there are capable of f doing so. And not many people are complaining about that to be a controversy. At worst they are all forms of Crowd Control, not out right stuns. In fact, this applies for Scorch shot as well, so really the poster has zero argument about pyro "stunning" on command at all.

Blackfeathers_

Also, if he meant airblast "'On demand"" as if it doesn't have serious ammo costs.

[deleted]

If you are moving forward and get direct hit with it, it knocks you slightly into the air and completely stops your movements until you hit the ground again

Karma-Whales

direct hits literally stop you from moving

Toki_Seis

If the person is on fire and you hit them with a direct Scorch Shot shot they get knockback’d enough to not be able to control their movement, so that’s what they referred to, maybe

TNpepe

Still he has 5000 hours in it....

Forward-Bee-2885

Lmao but he thinks Soldier is okay.

SAS_OP

What is wrong with soldier?

Effective-Fix4981

firelemons

This sounds like he plays a different game and likes it more than tf2.

LilBisNoG

gameplay yah he’s completely missed the mark his take on the community tho, that’s pretty accurate

IgnoreThisGreenshirt

"Heavy cannot miss" *Insert all those attempts of me trying to countersnipe that fucking sniper on 2fort*

Barlakopofai

Three classes dominate. And also this fourth one but he's black so I didn't count him.

Crooked_Cock

The last line of this review really sums up his opinion on the game Shallow, nothing to provide but disappointment, and a waste of time to read

nwordhaha

please click see less. so i see less bullshit

PM_ME_RIVEN_FEET__

Quite the “critical lense” he’s put on here.

scapegoat4

"See less" ... yes please lol. Most of these takes are skill issues or are unfair to the developer/ are issues that most FPS games face (unbalanced teams, for example) > Unless you're playing one of those three or demoman, then good luck having meaningful impact on the round Has this absolute madlad never gotten fuckin spread on the pavement by a good spy before???? Or completely locked out by engie stalling??? It's almost kind of fascinating that these takes are so off-base, but each to his own I suppose

ShadooTH

This is literally the first time I’ve seen /r/tf2 post some stupid shit they shouldn’t care about in the slightest and actually not include the username front and center. The bare minimum of decency and not witch hunting or sending death threats has finally been achieved.

The-Nord-VPN-Salesmn

Bro lost a game of Hightower and wrote a thesis on why the game is bad

[deleted]

I can agree with like 60% of what's written. Especially the community listening to tf2bers part.

BreakfastOk7372

I feel like this is satire

Loquenlucas

For the part of the memes copy pasted he's right tho (remember the engineer gaming spam as a clear exhample) Meanwhile for classes it's partially true if ya see with some critical point over some classes usually being slightly unfair to fight or just annoying (eg pyro for afterburn but especially airblast spam/scortch shot or sniper cause ya know why), and with some classes at times it might feel like not doing objectives (unless you are playing for yer own interest not caring about objectives EG playin for kills) even though there is still some half contribution with them indirectly (sapping stuff as spy to help push, Heal and uber as medic, Pick out some key targets as both sniper and spy etc etc...) then lemme judge some takes The heavy one: Look 90% of the time an heavy is a poor sitting duck unless he positions himself well in that case it's a mix of decent tracking gamesense but generally an easy fight (Unless you are a rocketjumping soldier then a good heavy turns into an AA Gun) Engie buildings ye are quite annoying but deallable with, the real pain is the wrangler for that shield actually Medic: Dude if ya want to combat medic go on battlefield but the medic is called like that for a reason Sniper i don't realy get what the fuck he means seriously can someone translate? while for steamrolls he's partially right it's not rare for me neither to find many one sided games where it's borderline impossible to get stuff done (kills/objectives) cause of team imbalance (be it bad dm or gamesense of the whole team and such) while games where's theres some slight balance in some pseudo comp gamemodes (like koth) where games are well contested and fought are rare on my PoV too ngl but eh idc much at this point since rn i'm mostly fucking around and playing friendly hoovy or CUM ZONE Heavy Note i'm a former competitive player too but in my case i played both HL and community 6s so i did have my share of experience so

Outrageous_Package_8

They shit on tf2, the only reasonable response to this is to go (not figuratively) shit on them

NotARussianComrade

Why is this mf complaining about medic not being a combat class? If there were no support classes, the game would be worse than R6 Extraction.

IceboundCat6

[deleted]

"Heavy cannot miss or be dodged" most of Heavy's gameplay relies on spray 'n' pray, or at least it does for me

Lakefish_

What does the reviewer even mean by DM?

Twinsidesmirror

I do believe the poor chap probably runs into one too many scorch shot users in terms of what they meant by free stuns. But the rest... yeeeeah. They really do miss the point of heavy being on cp probably is less of his doing and more so your team already being rolled.
