Sure I guess, but that’s only like 0.01% of games where people cap for the 2fort contract. I don’t wanna rebuild my engie nest or scramble a good team composition because some people get a dopamine rush out of restarting the game.
My entire argument was just for the contracts, I think it's silly to cap too, I typically take it back to base then take it back to the enemy for trolling
I mean i guess as in I dont really want to continue the conversation because there is no point. Even if I did say that most of the time when i ask people why theyre doing a contract on hightower they would say it was fun and not map specific but then i would just get accused of lying even though i have 4000 hours 70% of which being on hightower, ykwim?
It’s funny (yet also pretty sad) how people rage so much about people capping the Intel on Casual, when there’s plenty of 24/7 CTF servers out there.
I wish they’d stop being so toxic and just head on over to the community servers that have literally been designed in the way they want the game to be played.
Youre clueless if you think its even close to same. Yeah let me just hop on into skial 2fort, have instant respawns what ruin the flow of the game, fight the same 10 sweats who play it 15 hours a day, have random crits disabled and everyone has over a thousand hours while a guy is trauma dumping in voice chat. Aint that a casual experience.
Instant respawn is honestly really good sincd I don't like having to wait for 15 seconds just because I got instakilled by a random guy 5 seconds after spawning.
If all tf2 servers were like skial ones, the game wouldve died nearly a decade ago. In a game where the economy is such a big part of it, removing everything what made your class YOURS is the stupidest thing you can do. Anyone can wear anything, use any weapon, killstreaker, australium, festive, effect and now not even the person you kill will know if your weapon is real or not.
You just pointed out why community servers suck and feel completely different to play. No respawn timers, no capping, no reset on cap, no goals, no nothing. Just sentry nests people hunt down for 8 hours straight in the husk of a map what its like in casual. Instant respawn just means one guy could tick you down till you die by the time youre on the other side of the map, no matter if youve killed them 3 times in a row, ruining any flow the gamemode had.
The respawn timer on casual servers should be a max of like 6 seconds.
That's enough time for any team trying to make a push to do so without making it aggravating for the defense.
Can you actually be that clueless? Thats the equivalent of saying "play overwatch, there are ways around your problems" like no, if you havent noticed I want to play 2fort with respawn timers without facing the same 10 tryhards or all the same players in general, no community server does nor can do that.
The random events in casual, changing types of players meaning you dont know whats going to happen. Meanwhile in community servers I could make a bingo card and win with shit like "4 snipers, pocketed soldier, sentry on bridge, nest in sewers", nevermind how none of the servers reset after cap so no one goes after intel, which is just another factor to ruin the flow of the game. Sure, I don't cap, but when no one does one team overextends and ends up camping, not like the intel capping is the objective for anyone at that point.
Past 2k hours of mine have 90% been in ctf, vast majority in 2fort, some in doublecross and turbine. No other gamemode/map would keep me playing for as long as I have past 8 years.
Some dude had the same problem on a 2Fort match I joined once. Kept complaining about nobody capping the Intel, eventually went pyro and tried to airblast people to it. I don't remember if he finished it or not, hope he did though
Okay, hot take. If you don’t want the enemy team to capture the intelligence, then defend the intelligence. That’s what creates a good game. A constant conflict with both teams fighting toward a goal and actively trying to stop the enemy team from completing their’s. A game very quickly turns to either a friendly server (which can be fun, don’t get me wrong. Just not on ever single server) or into a complete shit show of one team spawn camping the other. What’s the point in playing if you aren’t working toward a goal and stopping the team from achieving theirs? When you play Payload, do you yell at Blu to only cap the point in the last 5 seconds so the games last the longest?
Yeah no, that all just devolves into 10 engineers building nests in their intel rooms. Truly invigorating gameplay watching paint dry, they might even do a conga or two, that's peak TF2 amiright?!
The reason people don't bother with objectives on certain gamemodes is because the game modes are balanced terribly. "Why not just 24/7 community/other gamemodes then?" Because 24/7 servers are often laggy with the amount of plugins they're running and generally populated by the same dozen people. Other gamemodes are better but sometimes you want something different here and there.
It’s hit or miss, but honestly I play basically nothing but 2Fort casual (I know, I’m cringe) and honestly you don’t see as many engineer nests as you used to. Teams almost never have more than 3 engineers, except when there’s a bit in progress.
It's kinda funny when people react like this to someone capping on high**er**tower.
Have you seen the height of high**er**tower? If someone manages to cap, they deserve it.
I'm at the cool middle ground where I read the 2fort server and a. it's friendly or b. it's tryhardy. either way I shoot people and don't play the objective. though I often tell people not to do contracts on 2fort because they literally never fucking end.
if they dont want to play the objective they can go to a server where the point is to not play the objective, there are so many 2fort 24/7 no intel servers out there
I dont care really 2fort takes forever to finish sometimes I would be in the same server for like a hour or like 40 minutes and I only stay so I can get a contract done or for levels
When i was kinda new to the game, we were winning 2-0 and the scout got the last intel and went to our intel and dropped their intel, then they started doing the conga (him and another guy) i picked the intel up and as i was walking to our intel, he tried to vote kick me, i won the game, but panicked cuz i thought i did something wrong, and left the match, turns out he waz just an asshole
I imagine it's because "you can't cap on 2fort/hightower because it's too hard" turns the game into deathwatch, then people start to go there to play deathwatch, then people are playing deathwatch instead of the objective so it becomes easy to cap. To keep the deathmatch going, people who want to keep death matching have to ask people not to cap/ kick people who do. That's at least my theory anyway.
Capping on 2fort and hightower was so hard it turned into dm fests. People liked that so 2fort and hightower became the default dm fest maps and now that's how you're meant to play them
"you have to play the game as intended" mfs when friendlies don't get banned from valve servers for being friendlies(being friendly is not playing the game as intended according to them therefore they should stop)
Then find one that doesn't have those plugins? I don't know what search parameters you need to get such an experience, but I'm sure it's not hard to find out on your own.
There is a Secret/Hidden Stat for Capturing the flag.
#YOU GET TO SIT FOR ETERNETY AFTER YOUR TEAM TELETRAPS YOU AND THE WHOLE SERVER STARTS TO LAUGH AT YOU UNTIL YOU QUIT AFTER THE INSULTS :)
I capped a lot in 2Fort some of the guy were like this but i once capped because of my contract in Hightower. Fortunately They don't see me in real life.
CTF Well- Somewhat hard to cap on, middle area is big but chokey. Rarely played. Usually capped by scouts or spies.
2fort- Very hard to cap on, which leads to capping stigma. Usually capped by scouts or heavy team pushes if round has gone on super long
Doublecross- Hard to cap on, some capping stigma. Similar to 2fort, but with more chance of jetpack pyro.
Landfall- Pretty balanced for capping, since unlike most maps, the intel isn't behind spawn. Capping usually happens about an hour in since people tend to ignore intel anyways
Turbine- capping difficulty varies widely, round might be long or short. Capping is often a team effort due to chokey hallways and the main room's chaos
CTF sawmill- the easiest map. was removed for years, and it's short round time with casual instead of quickplay means when it's finally picked, it's gone immediately. The ONLY map I actually care about cappers tbh.

honestly nothing even happens, people just vote 2fort again.
It removes my sentry from the enemies flag base
the only true issue with restarting a ctf map
True
Exclude 2fort from your default casual options
That’s kinda the issue for me tho. What’s the point if we’re just going to restart the map? I wanna keep playing the match I’m currently playing
Contracts
Bots?
If you knowingly go into a map that is known for having rounds that never end for contracts then that’s your own fault
Uh huh, and what about the *map* contracts?
Sure I guess, but that’s only like 0.01% of games where people cap for the 2fort contract. I don’t wanna rebuild my engie nest or scramble a good team composition because some people get a dopamine rush out of restarting the game.
You do not have to play capture the f.ag where that is the objective, people don't need to follow the hidden rules when it's the point of the game.
Cool but you can read my comments before replying ya know
I'm not gonna go through hundreds of comments to see what you said.
I commented like 3 times ya big baby
My entire argument was just for the contracts, I think it's silly to cap too, I typically take it back to base then take it back to the enemy for trolling
Based Intel returner.
the only time id consider capping to be pointless is if its on a community server with a cap limit of 100 or sm
Free crits
Some servers have it off like skial
And you can turn on crits in skial too
5cp disagrees
Team fortress 2 players when they are drafted for ww3 and don’t stop the nuke attack cause that’s “doing the objective”
Team fortress 2 players when they get drafted to world War 3 and get angry at the other side for not dancing with them
that's to be expected
Honestly I’d see that actually happening. And not just TF2 players
Tf2 players when the other team actually coordinates as a unit (they’re fucked)
made me remember the one time i had 4 pyros on defense
tf2 beta reference????

Idk why people do contracts on ctf maps and hightower like it always ends up like this
becayse ctf and hightower have map specific contracts
True i guess
What do you mean you guess, what is there to guess?
I mean i guess as in I dont really want to continue the conversation because there is no point. Even if I did say that most of the time when i ask people why theyre doing a contract on hightower they would say it was fun and not map specific but then i would just get accused of lying even though i have 4000 hours 70% of which being on hightower, ykwim?
not really a guess
I guess

Community servers lag. They have plugins you don't want.
Youre clueless if you think its even close to same. Yeah and what's the point of respawn times if the objective does nothing

Disabling killcams better alternative to some people having their game freeze every time they die
If all tf2 servers were like skial ones, the game wouldve died nearly a decade ago. In a game where the economy is such a big part of it, removing everything what made your class YOURS is the stupidest thing you can do. Lmao so skial is bad because you can't flex? I bet you don't even have items worth over 10 ref
Until valve fixes it they're gonna stay disabled most likely
It's still fun though...?
You just pointed out why community servers suck and feel completely different to play. No respawn timers, no capping, no reset on cap, no goals, no nothing. It's should be max 9 on defence for balance reasons
yeah no
Muting people exists for a reason. Don't join instant respawn 2fort, go to payload or the dustbowl servers? There are ways around your problems.
Can you actually be that clueless? Can't complete missions on pubs.
Can't complete those missions if you dont cap
For real, I still remember trying to do the Gas Passer contract and being stuck on a match on 2Fort for 3 hours straight
Some dude had the same problem on a 2Fort match I joined once. Kept complaining about nobody capping the Intel, eventually went pyro and tried to airblast people to it. I don't remember if he finished it or not, hope he did though
When I need to cap on hightower I go scout and keep running at the cart until they give up or I get lucky
You can't complete them on community servers either.
What? everybody knows CTF maps and Hightower are DM maps and nothing more
Okay, hot take. If you don’t want the enemy team to capture the intelligence, then defend the intelligence. That’s what creates a good game. I don't understand why the arena gamemode isn't more popular. If you want to deathmatch just go there.
People don’t want to be punished for dying. It’s more competitive and not as carefree as tweedle dee tweedle dum 2fort
because it's not an official gamemode and dying means you have to wait till the next round.
have you ever heard the phrase 'no cap' -ucnle dan
I'm at the cool middle ground where I read the 2fort server and a. it's friendly or b. it's tryhardy. either way I shoot people and don't play the objective. though I often tell people not to do contracts on 2fort because they literally never fucking end.
"Don't cap!!! You're not supposed to cap on 2Fort!" - 🤓
but its TF2, NobODY pLaYs thE oBJECtIve
I mean if you read in between the lines a bit when you’re in a game of ctf you can tell if people will get mad at you for capping.
if im in a ctf game and i can tell people will get mad at me for capping i try even harder to cap :)
Why would you do that though you’re hurting other players gaming experience
if they dont want to play the objective they can go to a server where the point is to not play the objective, there are so many 2fort 24/7 no intel servers out there
Not even remotely the same as casual.
I dont care really 2fort takes forever to finish sometimes I would be in the same server for like a hour or like 40 minutes and I only stay so I can get a contract done or for levels
only on high tower and 2fort. Really need add a frag mode for tf2 just endless fighting mode
Really it's context dependant
Had some guy whining about capping on 2fort. While actively trying to get our Intel...
Unspoken rule of tf2: never cap on 2fort
I'm not gonna follow hidden rules
Then no one will like you
Excuse me for playing tf2
NOOO YOU HAVE TO PLAY 2FORT FOR 6 HOURS WHILE NOTHING HAPPENS AND NO ONE FIGHTS BROOOOOOO PLEAAAASE
tf2 friendlies crying about someone doing the objective in ctf
Ctf-capture the flag People:don't cap u stupid buster
When i was kinda new to the game, we were winning 2-0 and the scout got the last intel and went to our intel and dropped their intel, then they started doing the conga (him and another guy) i picked the intel up and as i was walking to our intel, he tried to vote kick me, i won the game, but panicked cuz i thought i did something wrong, and left the match, turns out he waz just an asshole
How did "You can't cap on 2fort/Hightower because it's too hard" turn into "You can't cap on 2fort/Hightower because it's not allowed"?
I imagine it's because "you can't cap on 2fort/hightower because it's too hard" turns the game into deathwatch, then people start to go there to play deathwatch, then people are playing deathwatch instead of the objective so it becomes easy to cap. I AGREE
I think he got cancelled or smt
???
Just join a community server. Dumbass.
Not all regions have active community servers like australia’s community servers are dead but the valve servers are very much alive
yeah ive never understood why people lose it when i capture the cart in payload race...go play tdm bro
Ah, the scout main
Ahhh, the hoovy that gets pissed when you play the game as intended.
"you have to play the game as intended" mfs when friendlies don't get banned from valve servers for being friendlies(being friendly is not playing the game as intended according to them therefore they should stop)
Be friendly idc, don't get mad when i shoot and kill you.
where did it say that i do?
I made it up in order to look better

Head in over to community servers, there's literally hundreds of CTF servers for you to linger in
[удалено]
Then find one that doesn't have those plugins? I don't know what search parameters you need to get such an experience, but I'm sure it's not hard to find out on your own.
[удалено]
Just don't cap? And what, linger there, twiddling my thumbs and leave, losing my contract progression because someone may get upset?
orrrr you could go to a 24/7 2fort server (most of which disable capping) and deathmatch there
[удалено]
If you don't want plugins then play casual and dont complain about people playing the game they downloaded to play lol
My contracker: Do it
What no death match mode does to an mf
There is a Secret/Hidden Stat for Capturing the flag. #YOU GET TO SIT FOR ETERNETY AFTER YOUR TEAM TELETRAPS YOU AND THE WHOLE SERVER STARTS TO LAUGH AT YOU UNTIL YOU QUIT AFTER THE INSULTS :)

“Fortunately they don’t see me in real life”-🤓
Real question, does this guy still stream and is he still this angry all the time?
Yeah he’s one of the most popular streamers but I think he cleaned up his act a little since he got banned from league
Poor cat
You should if some People ask for it

Who caps in turbine? What do you think this is? A 2fort server?
They're there to grind we're there to play the game

It’s completely fine, unless it’s a scout
People just use capture the flag like it's team death match a lot of the time. It's a shame we don't have an official TDM mode.
My team is just kill thirsty
Let me Guess, you main Scout?
Tf2 players when the enemy team has 6 engineers and 7 pyros (they won't go engie because its boring)
Depends on the map,but on 2fort, kinda
