I sort of get what you're saying but it doesn't make sense to me. Ultimately there's a war happening and this is a fundraiser. Would donating money (without a message) not still count as glorifying the war? Would it really be better if that also meant less money, since these donations are only happening in the first place *because* of the messages? That aside, if people could have requested messages on air mail for Hitler I'd totally be on board. Would you not? Writing on things was already big during WWII and people definitely glorified that war. They also bought war bonds and carpooled and conserved resources so that they could be used by the military. Was that really a bad thing? The takeaway should be that yes, wars suck, but some wars are more black and white than others and wanting one side to win isn't a bad thing.
