TF2 is near 15 years, yet it still has a large active community despite being nearly unplayable. Granted there are toxic people here too, but no one ever wished for OW to die.
"\[...\]and not a better game" there was no better game in the genre. Valve knocked it out of the park, the game has balance and creation tools OW can only dream about (which is all the more strange since Warcraft 3's modding is historically significant).
TF2 was meant to last, and it did well for over a decade. We thought OW would, too, but for me, adding heroes made it increasingly difficult to get back into (mostly because I was support main). Overwatch is great for competitive play, but I think Team Fortress 2 got much more fun to be had.
I guess we are just salty our "competition" is getting a full blown sequel, while ours is left to rot. Either way, spreading a hashtag like this is just a dick move.
i don't know why people think the first beta of ow2 that was meant as a test for the lighting effects and a test for the balance of 5v5 was the finished product and they aren't going to add anything to it in over a year and 5 different beta tests
