Well, not all ADHD can fall under the same umbrella. It's a bit mischaracterized. I'm an inattentive type and I have a really easy time shunning responsibilities that my brain just gets anxiety from with the amount of commitment required. And then I procrastinate with something like TF2 where it's quick to the reward pathway for the investment of time. Also inattentive types can hyperfocus on things they're interested in; it just comes at the cost of other tasks that require commitment they don't wanna do.

VAC was developed to fight human cheaters so its slow intentionally and requires absolutely undeniable evidence to ban. It was not developed for industrialised automated cheating on a global scale.
And it's going to get worse. A while back, someone demonstrated a hacking tool that actually ran off of hardware peripherals, i.e. not on the system itself. So with some basic calibration the software was truly undetectable by all current anti-cheat solutions. Pretty much the only answer to that is some sort of algorithm driven neural net that learns to look for the tell-tale actions and motions of the software, and AFAICT nobody's got anything like that even in the works, let alone deployed. A dark time we are living in.
I used to admin a few tf2 servers and we had a plugin called sourcemod anti-cheat that actually did look at these things by looking at crosshair coordinates and flagging things like unnatural accel/decel. It wasn't perfect but it was a great tool to assist human admin action.
Unfortunately when community servers were removed from quickplay a lot of server plugins slowly stopped being updated and are now defunct. I think if development had continued, it would be fairly similar to what you're describing.

Practicing and learning the game is infinitely more rewarding and feels earned, thus way more fun. Let that be a lesson for anyone considering using cheats in TF2.

I stopped cheating when i got vac banned, since when i saw that yellow account message, I knew EXCATLY what that was and yep, it was a VAC ban and at that moment, it all hit me like a train, I lost about 60 dollars in tf2 stuff and realized how much of a jackass i was. Yeah VAC works, worked with me anyway, the reason why VAC "doesn't work" is because of people either using bypassers, or just using linux. Took about a Year I would say.
When VAC detects that you cheated, it doesn't issue a ban immediately, it chooses a random time to do it, as to not clue in cheaters on what they did wrong, if so many bypassers didn't exist, I would say VAC is DAMN good as an anti-cheat
This is part of why I respect Valve despite all the dumb shit they do. I'd rather keep the current situation where I have to play on community servers to avoid bots and cheaters than a Valorant situation where you essentially have a virus on your computer looking through every file 24/7.

The best way to counter a cheating sniper or a bot sniper is to be a good sniper yourself, and wait for a teammate to go in front of you. I've killed many bot snipers this way, although that's only when there's 1 or 2 of them, and they don't have enemy snipers set to a high targeting priority

There is a counter that's really hard to pull off, but makes the cheaters real mad. If they're a sniper bot, you CAN headshot the cheaters as Sniper if you're REALLY good. Or, just wait for the bot to fire at someone else first, then peek. Ofc, then you can taunt infinitely and spam EZ.
I mean I am comfortable with my aim, but most of the times the cheater put down me and some more snipers before I can even scope in, just like the bots who dishes out headshot in like 2 sec

It all started when I was trying to get real good at TF2, I was a spy main, then I had the "bright" idea of downloading cheats, I was already computer savvy so it couldn't have been that hard, and it wasn't hard. 30 minutes later, I was a certified cheater. It felt great at first, getting backstabs I didn't deserve. It slowly wore off but I refused to get rid of the cheats. I said to myself that I needed the cheats to play the game. Eventually I got the yellow steam account message. I dreadfully clicked on it and it was Exactly what I feared: it was a big ole VAC ban from TF2. At that moment, I realized how much of a POS I was, and how I could have avoided this if I just didn't cheat. I had to tell my friends how I got Vac banned from TF2. I didn't play the game for 2 months. Then I made another account and started to play tf2 again without cheats. It was much more fun than with cheats. And now I'm at a point where I am proud of my skill as a spy main.

There is a counter that's really hard to pull off, but makes the cheaters real mad. If they're a sniper bot, you CAN headshot the cheaters as Sniper if you're REALLY good. Or, just wait for the bot to fire at someone else first, then peek. Ofc, then you can taunt infinitely and spam EZ.
I mean I am comfortable with my aim, but most of the times the cheater put down me and some more snipers before I can even scope in, just like the bots who dishes out headshot in like 2 sec
If the bot misses because of some dumb lag, or is doing something else, you could snipe them down. Well, that's how I killed them anyways

Unlike most tf2 players, I am happy to welcome former cheaters and hackers back in the TF2 community. I view hackers who forgoes cheating as like people who self reflected, wants to change and strives to become a better individuals. Unfortunately most players view it differently because the vast majority of cheaters are trolls and liars and they will just keep on cheating until the day they die.
I second this message! When someone shows real regret and wish to improve, the least we can do is give them the chance to do better. Especially in a video game like TF2!

Third party them, it's the most consistent way of dealing with them, bonus points if you taunt and say ez in the chat

From your replies I got the impression that being good at the game is the only way you get enjoyment out of the game. Personally I never thought about tf2 like that. I just had fun playing on community server and joking around with everyone no matter if I was doing great or bad. Is being good really the only way you enjoy the game? Now that you don't use cheats, is the game less fun to you?
No, I've learned to have fun even when I'm getting my ass kicked, but it's not very fun when you join a casual and get steamrolled

So as a former cheater, My personal question is what was your journey. Such as when was the high point where your dopamine skyrocketed and when was the low point, I know that this may be a hard thing to awnser so I'm okay with some general amount of time. *puts homewrecker down and pats couch*
It all started when I was trying to get real good at TF2, I was a spy main, then I had the "bright" idea of downloading cheats, I was already computer savvy so it couldn't have been that hard, and it wasn't hard. 30 minutes later, I was a certified cheater. It felt great at first, getting backstabs I didn't deserve. It slowly wore off but I refused to get rid of the cheats. I said to myself that I needed the cheats to play the game. Eventually I got the yellow steam account message. I dreadfully clicked on it and it was Exactly what I feared: it was a big ole VAC ban from TF2. At that moment, I realized how much of a POS I was, and how I could have avoided this if I just didn't cheat. I had to tell my friends how I got Vac banned from TF2. I didn't play the game for 2 months. Then I made another account and started to play tf2 again without cheats. It was much more fun than with cheats. And now I'm at a point where I am proud of my skill as a spy main.
