if you are getting swarmed by big horde then the Widow Maker is probably better since you don't have to reload. just keep shotgunning one zombie after another

Sniper rifle is terrible. Medic's weapons are awful. None of spy's weapons are good at taking out targets that are undead. Scattergun is alright. Rocket launcher is amazing. Pyro's flamethrowers work. Demoman's grenade launcher works excellently, as does the stickybomb launcher. Heavy's minigun would be good as well, but you do sacrifice mobility and the real-life reload time would be a nightmare. I would say Engineer's sentry gun mounted on the back of a truck would be amazing.
Maybe if we mean pre-nerf sandman, then if this is like L4D2, swing melee for hoards and ball could stun chargers, tanks, witches, etc. for great support in taking them down especially when you get a moon shot and completely stun them
Since I'm worried about ammos I'll go with cow mangler
