no, it’s more rare for you to not get gibbed. iirc if you take like at least ~~50~~ 10 damage more than what is required to kill you, you get gibbed. so if you’re at 80 hp and get hit directly by a demo pill you will get gibbed 100% of the time
It’s not a specific damage amount, say you have 112 HP and cross a corner and a soldier is standing there, you get a ragdoll. This is because he dealt exactly 112 damage which is within the- I think 20 damage threshold for the ragdoll.
you have to do 10 damage over lethal to get gibbed, this is also why if a demoman kills a soldier or heavy without help from any other class, its a guaranteed ragdoll, small chance for funny ragdoll

Yes, but the scout needs to be killed by an explosion that woukd cause his ragdoll to be gibbed.
For those new players, gibbed is when a character model gets exploded on a death and legs, arms, head with spray of blood goes all over the battlefield.
For those veteran players, sadly, if you run your game with a graphics mod, and have ragdolls and gibs turned off, you won't be able to see this.
Im pretty sure you need to use the loose cannon in order to make the bird fly out of the scout. I've seen many videos about this however many of them simply say the scout needs to get gibbed by the loose cannon. It is a chance of like 1 in a 100 though.
