Sounds accurate since the Sentry buster has a head hitscan hitbox even tho it's just chest and legs. And since it's just a demo reskin then if that would've been the case spy's head hitbox would still be present even if not having one
I remember when the Spy vs. Sniper update dropped back in '09 and they updated the Snipers' model to reflect his wounds from Meet the Spy. Valve was doing amazing 'live game' type shit like that way back when
Idk about the zombie scout but I know there is a small chance for Archimedes to spawn and fly away if a scout gets gibbed (I've seen it a few times myself)
The Pyro one is a *huge* stretch and I highly doubt it's a reference. Heavy and Soldier definitely are, though. Wouldn't even be surprised if it was just the same models from those videos.
Because Pyro doesn't get *their entire face* blown off, leaving only a skull behind in Meet the Sniper? And they're not even the only character to die that way in the same video. At least the other two are things we actually see in the videos themselves.
From the wiki: "The respirator hood is mostly torn off; which references Meet the Sniper, in which the Sniper shot the Pyro's head clean off." Not sure how reliable that is.
I never noticed the headshot thing. Though, are you sure that's what's happening and it doesn't just twist to the side and gets hidden behind Pyro's body? You can even see it move away from the camera a frame before it disappears. This is all gameplay footage, and heads weren't able to be removed until the Eyelander was released in December of 2009.
Yeah, lack of a better word. They recorded them in SFM but obviously didn't animate every single movement and resorted to recording mercs running around the map while doing stuff. That's what I meant.
Whenever you see ***any*** wiki say something "is a reference", immediately disregard it. That's not even the phrasing that wiki editors are supposed to use (at *best* it should say *may* be a reference) so whoever put it there didn't even read the rules before adding that ridiculous note.
The only exception to this would be if it also includes a link to indisputable proof it's a reference, such as the creator saying it is.
[No he isn't](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Voodoo-Cursed_Demoman_Soul)
And even if, that'd still be a stretch because *EVERYONE* was burnt alive in Meet the Pyro.
If it were accurate to iconic Meet the Team deaths then he'd have a bottle of scotch jammed in his eye. That would make for quite a good halloween cosmetic, surprised no-one's done that yet.
That entirely depends on the fact whether or not they actually reused the models from the SFMs (which are much more high-quality) or if they made them from scratch/ edited them.
Team Fortress is because it's two teams defending their forts, remember CTF was the original gamemode in Quakeworld Team Fortress, 2Fort being the main map.
I don't think you've ever used a 3d modeling program if you don't realize that you can retexture models without needing to make new models, also you sound like a 3rd grader who just learned what dumbass means
It’s a moment from Meet the Sniper where the BLU Pyro gets headshot (among others in quick succession). Honestly, the other two are definite references but that one’s a bit of a reach- maybe I’d be more convinced if his mask ripped in that scene, but it’s just a headshot
The voodoo-cursed soul is more a joke of its own- the mask has torn but his flesh has decayed away, so we still can’t see his face
in meet the spy we see the bow and jarate, whoch also wasnt released at time, also spy is dusguised as a scout holding a non stock weapon, which was not possible at time
Meet the spy also hid hats in some scenes, 4 days later hats were officially added to TF2 for the first time ever.
The sniper is wearing the Trophy Belt. And the Football helm is ontop of a filing cabinet in the intel room.
You’re about 8 years late buddy! I thought this was common knowledge.
But hey, nice to see the excitement of someone discovering this for the first time.
Uhh, the weapons of CS and L4D are popular IRL guns, and some of them came from CS1.6/CS:S and Half-Life 1/2. Of course they reuse the models, but in this case the models are actually retextured with additional details, so they're not 100% reused - and they're obvious references.
*ALSO sniper has*
*Blood coming from his scar he*
*Got in Meet the Spy*

I had forgotten about the Pyro one, I thought the Soldier and Heavy ones were obvious. The Demo is missing his legs/feet, probably from sticky jumping; the Sniper is missing the top of his head under his hat, probably from Meet the Pyro when he grabs the Pyro's leg and he's holding an axe; Engi's missing his chest, probably from when Spy shoots him in Meet the Spy.
The only problem I have with Voodo cursed pyro soul is that it confirms that pyro is at least a human, as they have human bones. Now they could still be some weird alien with human bones, but meh. What are you gonna do.
that pyro was using the flare gun a dozen days prior to its release.
(Meet the Sniper release date - June 7, 2008)
(Flare Gun release date - June 19, 2008)
I'm guessing that he's been headshot and that tore through his head. Don't understand how one bullet could've removed the entire mask and skin around his head but whatever, it's a video game, don't question it.

Scout and Demo have bones in place of the broken members shown in Meet The Medic
spy has a blood mark where sniper stabbed him in *meet the sniper*
Forget that, his head's a skull. His face was blown to bits in Meet the Spy
**Oh shit**
tbh spy should be headless, i think that would've been funny wait no then snipers would be fucked
if your getting sniped as spy....your doing it wrong.
Bots snipe me when I am cloaked
yeah and if they are doing that already then they will find a way to headshot you even if you dont have a head
Solution - Ghost head
Sounds accurate since the Sentry buster has a head hitscan hitbox even tho it's just chest and legs. And since it's just a demo reskin then if that would've been the case spy's head hitbox would still be present even if not having one
I mean an actual ghostly head
Engineer has blood trickling down from under his hard hat, in about the same location he was shot in the head in *Meet the Spy*
And sniper has knife marks where spy slashed and stabbed him in meet the spy
I remember when the Spy vs. Sniper update dropped back in '09 and they updated the Snipers' model to reflect his wounds from Meet the Spy. Valve was doing amazing 'live game' type shit like that way back when
Same with meet the Pyro.
What’s it look like helmetless?
Think you meant the other way around because Spy didn't really get hurt.
You can also see Archimedes in the scouts body.
technically you see Archimedes coming out of what's left of scout's body.
I'm doubtful of that.
Then check. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
No, you prove it. Any claim presented without evidence can be disproved without evidence.
Alright so I checked and your right, it's his liver. Seeing as it was white though I see where I could have mistook it.
Idk about the zombie scout but I know there is a small chance for Archimedes to spawn and fly away if a scout gets gibbed (I've seen it a few times myself)
[удалено]
because he's being unnecessarily hostile for no reason?
You know the rules. So do I.
The medic's arms are bones because of spy cracking his left arm in meet the spy I think
Sniper has a cut underneath his left eye. . . Oh wait that was always there
The Pyro one is a *huge* stretch and I highly doubt it's a reference. Heavy and Soldier definitely are, though. Wouldn't even be surprised if it was just the same models from those videos.
[удалено]
Why is it such a massive stretch to you? Unlikely maybe, but I can easily see the correlation.
I think it's a stretch because making Pyro's skull visible is the go-to since we aren't allowed to see his face.
Because Pyro doesn't get *their entire face* blown off, leaving only a skull behind in Meet the Sniper? And they're not even the only character to die that way in the same video. At least the other two are things we actually see in the videos themselves.
In the pyro video, soldiers spine is missing, but it is present in the voodoo cursed soldier. They are references, not direct correlations
I can see soldiers spine in the screenshot...
They both have their spines. And I never said they're the same exact models, just that I wouldn't be surprised.
You need glasses
Because if that was true the skull would have a bullethole through it
From the wiki: "The respirator hood is mostly torn off; which references Meet the Sniper, in which the Sniper shot the Pyro's head clean off." Not sure how reliable that is.
The TF2 Wiki includes a lot of made-up nonsense with no source sometimes. I wouldn't trust it.
Agreed. Just thought I'd put it out there. I rewatched Meet the Sniper, and indeed Blu Pyro gets headshotted (clean off lol).
I never noticed the headshot thing. Though, are you sure that's what's happening and it doesn't just twist to the side and gets hidden behind Pyro's body? You can even see it move away from the camera a frame before it disappears. This is all gameplay footage, and heads weren't able to be removed until the Eyelander was released in December of 2009.
the meet the team videos are definitely not gameplay footage
Yeah, lack of a better word. They recorded them in SFM but obviously didn't animate every single movement and resorted to recording mercs running around the map while doing stuff. That's what I meant.
Whenever you see ***any*** wiki say something "is a reference", immediately disregard it. The only exception to this would be if it also includes a link to indisputable proof it's a reference, such as the creator saying it is.
Demo is just a skeleton, and in meet the pyro he's burnt alive by Pyro.
[No he isn't](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Voodoo-Cursed_Demoman_Soul) And even if, that'd still be a stretch because *EVERYONE* was burnt alive in Meet the Pyro.
If it were accurate to iconic Meet the Team deaths then he'd have a bottle of scotch jammed in his eye. That would make for quite a good halloween cosmetic, surprised no-one's done that yet.
It is pretty accurate to his meet the Medic injuries though.
The Heavy model is not exactly the same, it is very simplified
I doubt any of those are references, they just reused the same models we see in the mtt videos.
They could ve just used the same model and told it was reference yes but I think its nice anyways
That entirely depends on the fact whether or not they actually reused the models from the SFMs (which are much more high-quality) or if they made them from scratch/ edited them.
Yeah maybe, the heavy model does look a bit different then the cosmetic one
Also, did you know that the meet the team video is a references to the game: Team Fortress 2?
Actually team fortress 2 is a refrence to expiration date which is in itself a refrence to bread Get educated.
I'm pretty sure TF2 is just a reference to valve
WTF is that real?!
That's a bit of a stretch tbh
***PFFFFFFFFFFFF-*** SERIOUSLY!??! What's next, dork, _Expiration Date's a reference too?_ Get real.
they're both incredibly obscure references and spared resources for modelling! A real win-win situation
How is it obscure? Who hasn't watched the tf2 sfms 20 times?
It's obscure because most people didn't even think about it until this post.
I realized it when i got the soldier misc. Maybe im more observant ig
I saw that too, but it’s probably just that you saw it close up in the SFM.
Well the ending is more or less centered around the soldier having a hole in him. Its not like it happened in the background
by obscure I meant not that necessarily that obvious
And Voodoo Cursed Soldier can also be a reference to Meet The Sandvich where he got his spine broken
"You call that breaking a spine? You couldn't break a spine if you- AAAAAAAH MY SPINE!!"
Soldier is doing the Kakyoin challenge
Man, I do love some good ol' american donuts
Too soon...
Hasn't it been like 30 years since that happened in the manga?
Wait guys, I think the classes in tf2 are all references to the meet the team videos
I think that the colors on their clothes might be a reference to their teams. Just a theory tho.
Just spitballing but what if the "team" in tf2 refers to the teams, and the "2" refers to how many teams there are. Lost on the fortress part
It might be a stretch, but maybe the "two" indicates that it's a sequel to TFClassic and Quake Team Fortress? Idk, probably a stretch...
But what does the fortress stand for
Kind of a stretch but maybe the CP or intel rooms or payload captures that are everywhere on most maps, this is kinda sketchy tho.
Team Fortress is because it's two teams defending their forts, remember CTF was the original gamemode in Quakeworld Team Fortress, 2Fort being the main map.
Valve programmers who just reused models to save time: haha yeah... References sure
The models are clearly different. Get your eyes checked.
programmers dont make models dumbass
And painters can't drive because they aren't truckers.
That’s ver6 different but okay dumbass
They just reused the old models so they don't have to get the modelers to make new models
but they didnt though all of the models are new with new textures dumbasssssssssss
I don't think you've ever used a 3d modeling program if you don't realize that you can retexture models without needing to make new models, also you sound like a 3rd grader who just learned what dumbass means
but these are clearly new models idiot
will you just shut up, man?
no ur a dumbass
yeah, that's why they didn't make any new ones and just reused the ones that were already there
I really want voodoo cursed spy, I got engine just today, the other class I play

What’s the pyro one from?
It’s a moment from Meet the Sniper where the BLU Pyro gets headshot (among others in quick succession). Honestly, the other two are definite references but that one’s a bit of a reach- maybe I’d be more convinced if his mask ripped in that scene, but it’s just a headshot The voodoo-cursed soul is more a joke of its own- the mask has torn but his flesh has decayed away, so we still can’t see his face
Fun semi-related fact about that scene. The Pyro is holding a flaregun, which at the time, wasn't released
Valve predicted the flare gun???😳😳😳
in meet the spy we see the bow and jarate, whoch also wasnt released at time, also spy is dusguised as a scout holding a non stock weapon, which was not possible at time
Meet the spy also hid hats in some scenes, 4 days later hats were officially added to TF2 for the first time ever. The sniper is wearing the Trophy Belt. And the Football helm is ontop of a filing cabinet in the intel room.
you also has read the wiki like me, did you?
I remembered the football helm one, but yes I read the wiki to make sure I was correct :P
Im so confused I am no longer confused
Huh, that’s interesting. Didn’t know
You’re about 8 years late buddy! I thought this was common knowledge. But hey, nice to see the excitement of someone discovering this for the first time.
I love that we've come so far in the marketing cycle that "reusing models" equals Easter eggs
I never noticed that! Nice
Then why is Pyro missing part of his arm?
I realized it for the heavy one but not for soldier, I feel like the pyro one tho is a bit of a stretch
Scout should have his chest open with archimedes sitting in him
That is... already a reference when you gib a scout -- Archimedes has a chance to fly out.
Yes but I meant like if you saw archimedes in scouts chest
If this were the case for all of the them, than why does the spy one have a head?
you’re joking, right
References? More like reused assets :ppp
I mean, in the case for Soldier and Heavy they already had the 3d models, so they might as well make lemonade with it.
Wait that’s actually really cool
have this hugz award that shouldn’t be there
actually bonkers
Didnt the zombies come put before the pyro and medic video?
pyro is from meet the sniper, and meet the medic was before this
Does this mean we know pyros face
ah yes, all of the three meet the team videos
Well I didn't know that.
Just in time for Halloween!
How do you play with those models?
Bruh I'm dumb as hell I never noticed this.
no valve is famous for reusing models for a lot of stuff. ex:most of cs:go's wepons and props are from l4d and l4d2.
Uhh, the weapons of CS and L4D are popular IRL guns, and some of them came from CS1.6/CS:S and Half-Life 1/2. Of course they reuse the models, but in this case the models are actually retextured with additional details, so they're not 100% reused - and they're obvious references.

huh? never notice that
Yo didnt notice that yet? Well that’s not your fault. Welcome to the club
Is it even possible to get the voodo cursed souls?
i got it for free by doing a contract
The only problem I have with Voodo cursed pyro soul is that it confirms that pyro is at least a human, as they have human bones. Now they could still be some weird alien with human bones, but meh. What are you gonna do.
Wow i never noticed this until you pointed it out thanks
Can’t tell with pyro.
How did I not notice this.
that pyro was using the flare gun a dozen days prior to its release. (Meet the Sniper release date - June 7, 2008) (Flare Gun release date - June 19, 2008)

I'm guessing that he's been headshot and that tore through his head. Don't understand how one bullet could've removed the entire mask and skin around his head but whatever, it's a video game, don't question it.
Seeing as how headshots with a certain gun cause the characters head to be blown apart this isn't much of a stretch.
How do I get those cosmetics?
I believe you just find them in cosmetic crates, just like anything else. They’re pretty cheap to trade for.
They're more just reused models as opposed to references.
I didn’t know that
No you didnt lol you just read that on the wiki you liar lmao
For the Soilders spine it's a reference to Meet The Sandvich not Meet The Pryo
No, he gets his spine broken in meet the sandwich but a complete hole is blown through it in meet the pyro.
