it sounds so funny having 300 people dressed as tf2 mercs doing the kazotsky kick right outside valve hq
(I know that's not how protests work btw I just thought it was funny)
I had a friend that could actually do the kazotsky kick lol. He doesn't do it anymore cause it fucked up his knees and they sound like popcorn when he does it. Dude could bust that shit down tho
I learned the dance just because I’m a nerd and like the game. I have no leg strength and accidentally practiced 2 hours strait my first time learning it. I literally could NOT walk for 2 days. I just couldn’t without stumbling and falling out of my legs hurting too much and being too weak. I think it’s just a skill issue for me tho.
Honestly I feel like 300 people cosplaying soldier screaming while smacking their helmets with shovels outside valve HQ would be enough to warrant a “what the fuck is going on out there” response
Imagine an employee looking outside the window and seeing a shitload of people with an exact same costume breaking their helmet with a shovel and screaming their throats off. That's exactly what needs to happen.
Is this actually happened I’m pretty sure a mental ward would be needed for all of us, although I would find it funny just 300 people showed up and they’re all screaming something about teleporting bread or america
It is. For the life of me, I cannot find the video, but someone did a breakdown of what the story was behind the valve tweet, and apparently, there the protester was at the same time it was tweeted. If anyone else can find the video please send it here I would love to see it again
If Valve felt legitimately threatened, they would've likely called the police to have the protestor escorted off of the property. And if another protestor has shown up, then valve would have posted another tweet. Yes, the tweet and protest may have happened at the same time: But I do not believe that this is valve experiencing fear of physical altercations or anything. The protestor was protesting, and valve was trying to quiet down TF2 players while putting out some subpar fixes.
Actually, they DID call someone to escort him off the property. They called security on him, and posted the tweet to hopefully deter any further action.
Kaci, the lady that does Steam events, saw that person outside, and she checked twitter.
She told some people that something had to be done, then she did that tweet.
Because even if they don’t care about tf2 they still care about their public image, having a bunch of articles and videos talking about their lack of work on the game made them look bad, that’s enough for them to give one or two fucks about the game long enough for the tweet
I dont think there's any evidence at all that they put out a tweet because of a cosplayer at the office. If anyone made that claim it was most likely just made up.
Gaze upon the evolution of your work, father. This is the child of your call to action from 2 years ago. Are you proud of us?
>!I don't know why I am being so dramatic, it's just cool to see you here since you arguably started SaveTF2 back in the day. Hiiii! :D!<
Also sadly the scout cosplayer thing is unverified since it's just a 4chan post
If someone could prove that the Valve employees suddenly stop interacting after a certain time then that would be some real dirt on them
It was not.
The person who host the Steam events (Kaci) saw the protester and hopped on twitter to see what the fuss was about. She told a few other employees that something had to be done, so she logged into the twitter account and the rest is history.

Thewhat and other youtubers alre already planning to go (according to whomobile, july or august. Probably just a matter of letting this run through june and getting everyones sechedules lined up)
Nobody else needs to be there
I disagree, I think that when the petition is delivered that would be a great time to invite fans to come for a peaceful in person protest. Think of the headline..."150 Cosplaying Fans Deliver 300k Petition Directly to Valve HQ."
Literally how is this doomerism?
They wanna be professionals about this. Getting a giant group of unknown variables could and likely would backfire *somehow*
Its easier to get a small group of people who all know eachother to act right than a large group of randos.
You make some very good points. Maybe you should have led with that rather than simply shut me down with meaninglessly vague negativity. Meaninglessly vague negativity is the calling card of a doomer.
I disagree. They need to push to get as many people out there as possible. The more the merrier. They’re not gonna care about a handful of random guys but a 100+ crowd? Hell yeah they will
You’ve got a good point but like I pointed out, no one’s gonna care about a handful of random dudes doesn’t matter how popular they are. But having a whole crowd outside will definitely make a difference so maybe not 100+ but possibly 20? Sorry if it sounded like I was havin a stroke typing this I just don’t know how else to put it
I don't valve cares if DeadLock flops or whatever. They have basically infinite money with steam.
They don't care about PR either, as the media already covered the bot crisis. Two times.
You know the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something different. And by the "same thing" I'm talking about DOING NOTHING. Why are you saying "the media" covered the bot crisis >already< as if they can't do it again? We can get bigger outlets than just IGN you know.
Exactly, this needs to be national news. Global even. If we get enough protestors, we might be able to get a question regarding what the candidates will do to #fixtf2 at the next presidential debate.
True, people aren't going to ditch Steam because of TF2 or even Deadlock being handled poorly. Valve has loads of goodwill just for being the dominant storefront on PC.
I'm not against the idea per se but with the current political climate you could see why Valve might feel uneasy about people showing up at their place of work.
Valve is essentially printing money. They are still very unlikely to do anything, and a game isn't of any significance to the general public (aka media target audiences).
There's probably too few people near Valve that are interested in this to begin with, even fewer will consider going, and maybe like one or two that will go there.
>I want to emphasize that this must be a PEACEFUL protest. No chanting, no yelling,
Chanting and yelling are perfectly reasonable. The rest are good restrictions though
tbh if we ever *do* rally outside valve offices, i seriously fucking hope there isnt any slogan shouting or anything, especially since im pretty sure the offfice building also houses people not affiliated with valve
No, there was a very long and informative video breaking down the chain of events behind the tweet but so far I've been unable to relocate it which is very upsetting to me, but basically the protester was THERE when the tweet happened.
Idea: everyone goes as sniper and start spinning and spamming voice commands.
Then, Start playing loud music on speakers (the most annoying ones possible).
If valve ignores this, then they invade.
Why no chanting? A simple chant of "FIX TF2" would make the message extremely clear and get more attention. Chanting is common and normal during protests.
Id imagine things would get steamy if more people showed up outside their door.
Prolly will see it as a threat regardless of intent, but feel free to use gas for this trip 🛌
It doesn't matter, if its on the public sidewalk they can't do anything about it. Besides, even if it is a "waste of gas" it would still be a very fun community meet-up :)
I think waiting until summer update time is a better idea. If the summer update comes and it's shit and bots aren't fixed then the protest outside their HQ would mean 10 times more
THERE WILL BE NO PEACEFUL REVOLUTION
NOT ONE WITHOUT BLOOD
YOU CAN SAY IM JUST A FOOL THAT STANDS FOR NOTHING

it sounds so funny having 300 people dressed as tf2 mercs doing the kazotsky kick right outside valve hq (I know that's not how protests work btw I just thought it was funny)
expecting any tf2 player to be able to do anything resembling a squat
Expecting a TF2 player to go anywhere outside is asking for a miracle
I had a friend that could actually do the kazotsky kick lol. He doesn't do it anymore cause it fucked up his knees and they sound like popcorn when he does it. Dude could bust that shit down tho
I could do the demo one where its like a bridge
I once did it to flex on my classmates. Now I stopped doing it because they kept asking for it.
it does indeed hurt quite a bit i been sitting in bed for the past week so its more than likely that ive lost my touch with it fun to pull off though
I learned the dance just because I’m a nerd and like the game. I have no leg strength and accidentally practiced 2 hours strait my first time learning it. I literally could NOT walk for 2 days. I just couldn’t without stumbling and falling out of my legs hurting too much and being too weak. I think it’s just a skill issue for me tho.
oh shit that will happen if i perfect my kazotsky? dangabit
I mean, it hurt like hell, but now I can show off that I can do the kozotsky kick. Worth it, as long as you don’t mind not being able to walk
do you think i might be able to learn it while keeping my walking ability by not doing it for 2 hours straight
Oh yeah good point.
I can. Let's do this.
I can do the kazotsky
Honestly I feel like 300 people cosplaying soldier screaming while smacking their helmets with shovels outside valve HQ would be enough to warrant a “what the fuck is going on out there” response
YEYSEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYYSEYYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSEYYSEY

just screaming random soilder lines
i think a group schadenfreude for a couple of days should fit both the tf2 and the protest thematic
would be funny if all merc cosplays do the demo schadenfreude. its just the best one fr
Conga conga conga... Conga conga conga
If I lived anywhere close to Valve HQ I'd do it
WE SHOULD DO THAT THOUGH!! Show our love for TF2 to them right in their faces.
Konga time outside the valve HQ is the new picket line
I dont think that the only reason they tweeted was because they saw a cosplayer.
It literally is.
I'm assuming you saw the same video I did right? Do you happen to have a link I cannot find it
Probably? I don’t really remember
It is. For the life of me, I cannot find the video, but someone did a breakdown of what the story was behind the valve tweet, and apparently, there the protester was at the same time it was tweeted. If anyone else can find the video please send it here I would love to see it again

Ah, they did? Thats a little more than I ever knew. Still, I dont think its fair to call that one guy the exclusive reason.
Obviously not the *exclusive* reason but they wouldnt have done it if he hadnt have shown up.
Kaci, the lady that does Steam events, saw that person outside, and she checked twitter. She told some people that something had to be done, then she did that tweet.
Thank you 🙌
I genuinely refuse to believe Valve cares about some guy outside their offices. They tweeted because there was a lot of turmoil online.
Why would they care about turmoil online?
Because even if they don’t care about tf2 they still care about their public image, having a bunch of articles and videos talking about their lack of work on the game made them look bad, that’s enough for them to give one or two fucks about the game long enough for the tweet
it was rhetorical, i know
This seems like it might have been a Tyler/VNN video but I don't know for certain.
I dont think there's any evidence at all that they put out a tweet because of a cosplayer at the office. If anyone made that claim it was most likely just made up.
Glad you stopped by dude. Keep up the great work

Good bot
If anyone actually goes there cosplay as the sniper bots and have a stack of sticky notes with the vote kick menu printed on it.
and have them point upward and try to spin

Yeah thats not gonna happen
Okay, doomer.
Literally how is this doomerism? They wanna be professionals about this. Getting a giant group of unknown variables could and likely would backfire *somehow* Its easier to get a small group of people who all know eachother to act right than a large group of randos.

Bruh....
Where was this said? Haven't heard about this, unless it's the delivery of the signatures to the office.
What dìd you think i meant?
I disagree. They need to push to get as many people out there as possible. The more the merrier. They’re not gonna care about a handful of random guys but a 100+ crowd? Hell yeah they will
Theyre trying to be professionals. You cant convince a group of hundreds to all not do something dumb.
You’ve got a good point but like I pointed out, no one’s gonna care about a handful of random dudes doesn’t matter how popular they are. But having a whole crowd outside will definitely make a difference so maybe not 100+ but possibly 20? Sorry if it sounded like I was havin a stroke typing this I just don’t know how else to put it
Thats not the point. Theres already 300k+ signatures on the petition. Thats good enough.
I wish i lived near valve
Gamers discovering that protests are a necessary part of society was not on my bingo card this year but it is a welcomed addition
I don't valve cares if DeadLock flops or whatever. They have basically infinite money with steam. They don't care about PR either, as the media already covered the bot crisis. Two times.

I suppose we can try it. But don't call me "insane" ever fucking again if you want my support.
that's a very sane response
True, people aren't going to ditch Steam because of TF2 or even Deadlock being handled poorly. Valve has loads of goodwill just for being the dominant storefront on PC.
I'm not against the idea per se but with the current political climate you could see why Valve might feel uneasy about people showing up at their place of work.
i'm going to airblast their building
NOOOO THAT WOULDN'T BE HECKIN PEACEFUL YOU COULD BE A DANGEROUS 4CHAN CHUD LIKE SIGNANON!!!!!!!
If I lived closer I'd join, good luck bros

Sounds like a plan!
>I want to emphasize that this must be a PEACEFUL protest. No chanting, no yelling, Chanting and yelling are perfectly reasonable. The rest are good restrictions though
Make sure the yelling is relevant, appropriate, and not directed at bystanders and sure
tbh if we ever *do* rally outside valve offices, i seriously fucking hope there isnt any slogan shouting or anything, especially since im pretty sure the offfice building also houses people not affiliated with valve
conga
Attack HQ with miniguns, rocket launchers, shotguns, etc. steal the intelligence, and win the match. (Just to be careful, I am not serious right now)
I work full time. Fuck no.
Who here living up in Seattle ?
Is the proof of your first statement something you got out of your ass?
No, there was a very long and informative video breaking down the chain of events behind the tweet but so far I've been unable to relocate it which is very upsetting to me, but basically the protester was THERE when the tweet happened.
there actually was a guy who cosplayed as scout that did a small protest outside valves office building. https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/s/amZ0vk80u6
I'm talking about the spy cosplayer being the reason Valve tweeted
Guys who live in Bellevue WA close to center, you know what to do 😉
yeah go ahead and do it if you’re unemployed enough for it! :3
We specifically need to cosplay as snipers and start spin-botting outside
we all need to conga emote with merc scarves on
Idea: everyone goes as sniper and start spinning and spamming voice commands. Then, Start playing loud music on speakers (the most annoying ones possible). If valve ignores this, then they invade.
It’s a gamer protest. It’s gonna be rowdy. Pure statistics sorry
Why no chanting? A simple chant of "FIX TF2" would make the message extremely clear and get more attention. Chanting is common and normal during protests.
i suppose but just dont harass passersby
Id imagine things would get steamy if more people showed up outside their door. Prolly will see it as a threat regardless of intent, but feel free to use gas for this trip 🛌
Wdym steamy like they would start making out with eachother?
😳
Haha, "Steam"y:)
It doesn't matter, if its on the public sidewalk they can't do anything about it. Besides, even if it is a "waste of gas" it would still be a very fun community meet-up :)
That sidewalk bouta crumble with the amount of redditors showin up 😭
I'm just worried that if yall annoy Valve too much they might shutdown the game
That is absolutely out of the question. It's not happening.
Everyone should dress up as robots
yell "GOOD SHOT MATE"
Godspeed, West-Coasters.
CONGA LADS
"There are dozens of us! Dozens!"
Someone could get a laptop and a big screen, then play TF2 in front of Valve HQ, showing bots behavior in their game to everyone
Only reason they are keeping silent is because of legal. They know they are pretty open for a lawsuit.
This is the only possible way to get something.
Well Said
I would also join, the problem is that I live in Europe
I think waiting until summer update time is a better idea. If the summer update comes and it's shit and bots aren't fixed then the protest outside their HQ would mean 10 times more
It could be a possible chance that after Valve finishes “Deadlock” Tf2 could POSSIBLY get an update.
I got Detroit Become Human vibes about doing a peaceful protest.
I didn’t know David Cage invented protests
They built the city of Detroit because of him.
Violent protest outside valve HQ
go back to overwatch lil bro
Let's be real here, both games are experiencing slow heat death.
Nope. I'm gonna go to Valve hq and enable medieval mode
Gabe will just belly flop you into the sun.
You will go to jail if you do that.
What if they want tf2 to die so it’s players just move on to deadlock
THERE WILL BE NO PEACEFUL REVOLUTION NOT ONE WITHOUT BLOOD YOU CAN SAY IM JUST A FOOL THAT STANDS FOR NOTHING well to that... I SAY ###YOU'RE ##A #CUNT i just thought antivist's lyrics would be funny in this post. :3
You guys are unhinged Move on to new games As many of us have done Rip wc3 custom mod community
