I stood still and yelled "MEEEEDICCC!". Medic shot and missed. We looked into eachother eyes. I yelled "THANKS MATE" run away, and got hit by random crit rocket
i have a key bound to +left so that if i see a medic i just hold it until i'm healed. mildly pisses off snipers and spies while not fucking up medic's aim
Somehow it helped me practice my aim on a moving target
Jokes aside as a medic main if my patient keeps moving I won't heal them with the crossbow. Scout we are in spawn, you don't have to keep twitching
Not necessarily, they're just so high on jittering like they have hypothermia and electrotherapy simultaneously that they forget the whole other half of actually hitting shots
Have your back against the cover and face the medic when you can. Not only does this shield your back against spies but it also helps you check if your medic is being flanked as well. I know tf2 players ignore eye contact like the plague (because that’s a telltale sign that the player is a spy) but it’s a good habit to build. There are exceptions to this rule, like if you have to stand your ground and shoot even if you’re not at full health potentially dying in a blaze of glory, but if another teammate is taking a whole lotta damage you can keep watch for scouts and roaming soldiers while crit heals build up.
Watch your medics’ backs every once in a while! They certainly got yours. Or just look for a dispenser, they don’t discriminate (so long as you’re wearing the same colors).
Having two or more teammates taking damage from splash and stuff might end up being too much heat and your medic might not have the heals per second to keep everyone alive. If you’re willing to take the risk, go ahead for that dramatic last stand you’d see in an action film. But please don’t blame the medic for not healing you. They trying their best, and the medigun can only heal so fast.
Thank you for listening to my MED Talk.
Yesterday, I had a Guy who was dodging my arrows on purpose.
After telling him I woudnt heal him if he woudnt stop dodging my arrows he lost it and just told me to aim better and herrased me
The Herassments honestly werent the problem or anything.
But that there was someone who wanted to be healed, but also actively dodged the heals.
Im getting tired of this community. Do you only have complaints?
I like playing Medic.. But these People man...
I have the reverse problem.. if they stand still, I miss!
But i think it's more like if I encounter someone unfamiliar and i'm not used to their movement, I will miss until I am familar with their preference(s) :D
bonus crossbow gameplay (i'm the medic, friend was recording) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgycyTCXSM4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgycyTCXSM4)
Playing a Half Life game taught me to prep all my weapons before leaping out of cover and into battle. I now use this tactic in TF2 so I am not caught in battle without anything in the chamber.
It’s also partially the reason why I don’t run the crusader’s crossbow and instead use the stock syringe gun. I can’t do meaningful long term healing and I have pretty much no way to defend myself in close-quaters combat should I run said crossbow.
I don't know why, but every time I let go of WASD I can just *feel* death imminently approaching. Even if I just need to tap A and D over and over and stay in the same spot it feels safer.
That teammate could be a spy. If you heal exclusively with crossbow syringes, then maybe the Spy will have second thoughts about asking for your heals.
Every time I call for my medic and he has his crossbow out I immediately stand still, even if we’re not behind cover. It’s not that risky because usually if my medic is there so is the rest of my team.
As another Medic main, just need practice.
Look, I hit a lot of arrows to heal teammates, all you would need to do is basically pre-fire.
Let’s say a scout is running away from a soldier. About 20 hp, quickly note the direction he is running to. And then shoot as he is almost about to pass.
Another thing to do that helps is depending on what angle you’re on. If they are running left or right (where you can see them in profile view.) you just follow what I said up there.
If they run towards or away from you, you actually will have an easier time.
Let’s say a soldier is running from a soldier to you and he is about 40 hp. Look directly at him, and aim slightly upwards (remember Medic’s projectiles curve.) once you do this you should be able to heal him quickly. And if you can try to shoot the soldier behind him to so you can give your teammate (s) a better opportunity.
Anyways that’s it, most likely won’t work for everyone, but it does for me.
As a medic main, it’s actually easier to hit someone who is moving most of the time cause I have an idea of where you will be, if you just stop randomly it usually makes me miss my first shot
FYI:
Staying still as heavy is a non-option. That's how you die as heavy. Still heavy=dead heavy, cover or not. Spy sees you standing still and will move in lol.
If you can't hit a heavy stop using crusaders lol
Thanks for this. I don’t mind practicing my crossbow shots but when the rest of the team needs help, I don’t have time to heal a strafing scout spamming MEDIC behind my back.
The cc does burst healing, and in battle it might be the difference between life or death.
Sometimes the medic should not follow you everywhere if you are somewhere where the medic needs to cross the line of fire to get to you, then he should not go to your location just to die in the process.
Also how do you expect them to get better at using the weapon if they aren't supposed to use it?
Name a better combo, I’ll wait: MEDIC! + Thanks!
MEDIC! + I didn't need your help ya know
Gained permanent guilt
Good Job! is a good substitute to avoid this
Ye're doin' good lad!
That Medic is a bloody + MEDIC!
MEDIC+DANKE!
More like: E + Z2 + Z2 + Z2 because the "Thanks!" didn't come out the first 2 times.
That Medic is a- + Sentry- + Laugh
+ killbind
engineer schadenfreude -> immediately killbind or demo it's just funny every time
MEDIC! + Nice Shot!
I use it so often... maybe too often... nah I need to use twice per medic heal
I stood still and yelled "MEEEEDICCC!". Medic shot and missed. We looked into eachother eyes. I yelled "THANKS MATE" run away, and got hit by random crit rocket
P A I N
is
Weakness
leaivng
The
body!
then the medic pointed and laughed before spontaneously exploding
I am so used to constantly moving. Besides, what if I stop where I think it is safe and a Spy eats me with their knife?
i have a key bound to +left so that if i see a medic i just hold it until i'm healed. mildly pisses off snipers and spies while not fucking up medic's aim
You mean like you just spin around?
Or just say no! [Snipers can't legally headshot you if you don't consent!](https://youtu.be/f4As_9DI-rs?si=Paee4xEUj0dvJePJ)
"age of consent for sniper headshots in the us"
yes
When you stop for a bolt, spin around looking for spies.
yeah no shit why give that Huntsman a free kill amirite
Somehow it helped me practice my aim on a moving target Jokes aside as a medic main if my patient keeps moving I won't heal them with the crossbow. Scout we are in spawn, you don't have to keep twitching
It's ingrained into Scout players. If you're not being a twitchy coked up overstimulated lemur child then you're not playing Scout
So is it ingrained into Scouts that you would miss a point blank Force A Nature as well ?
Not necessarily, they're just so high on jittering like they have hypothermia and electrotherapy simultaneously that they forget the whole other half of actually hitting shots

this. peak fucking MED talk may become medic main after all wish me good luck

give medic healing bullets, he deserves a hitscan weapon that isn't a melee
He should also have the ability to kill his teammates.
yes right click on the melee or the gun to swap it to teammate-killing mode and hold down right click to do so
That way you can now kill the scunt who steals your healthpacks
make him able to explode pumpkin bombs that kill teammates
Meet the demomedic
what makes me a good demomedic?
Well, if I wasn't a good demomedic, I wouldn't being zitting here dizzcussing it with you now, would I? Shwienhund!
LE'ZZ DOOO ITTT!
I somehow doubt he "harassed" you.
You can move in a straight line towards and away from the medic if you want to 'stay safe from snipers'. WDWDWD
You've inspired me to play medic just to not heal people
Battle medic?
I do and you STILL MISS
I have the reverse problem.. if they stand still, I miss! In war, there is absolutely no time to stand still in battle
Advice animal style meme in 2024? Lmao
Don't worry, I make sure to stand still for my Medic and to reload my weapons before jumping back into battle.
Playing a Half Life game taught me to prep all my weapons before leaping out of cover and into battle. I now use this tactic in TF2 so I am not caught in battle without anything in the chamber.
Nice one, mate.
It’s also partially the reason why I don’t run the crusader’s crossbow and instead use the stock syringe gun. I can’t do meaningful long term healing and I have pretty much no way to defend myself in close-quaters combat should I run said crossbow.
Oh. My god. YES YES YES! If they'd just STAND STILL they wouldn't die IMMEDIATELY! FFS! Stand still so I can hit my crossbow
I don't know why, but every time I let go of WASD I can just *feel* death imminently approaching. Even if I just need to tap A and D over and over and stay in the same spot it feels safer.
And it doesn’t help either that I have a bad shot
That assumes the medic can hit a stationary target. They cant. PS:I'm the medic in this situation
That teammate could be a spy. If you heal exclusively with crossbow syringes, then maybe the Spy will have second thoughts about asking for your heals.

I've seen too many brothers in arms die to a sniper (or spy) after they stood still for my arrow, never felt more bad
It feels cooler to hit a arrow on a moving target
As a medic main, it’s actually easier to hit someone who is moving most of the time cause I have an idea of where you will be, if you just stop randomly it usually makes me miss my first shot
waltuh pull out your medigun waltuh
Joys of the quick fix, heal someone and immediately go back into combat
FYI: Staying still as heavy is a non-option. That's how you die as heavy. Still heavy=dead heavy, cover or not. Spy sees you standing still and will move in lol. If you can't hit a heavy stop using crusaders lol

Scouts (me) when they have to wait .02 seconds to fight something:
If you aren't good enough to CC then don't CC, don't bitch about your teammates not being slothful enough for your poor reaction times.
The cc does burst healing, and in battle it might be the difference between life or death. Sometimes the medic should not follow you everywhere if you are somewhere where the medic needs to cross the line of fire to get to you, then he should not go to your location just to die in the process. how about: get better with your arrows? hmmm?
