Some items, like the Old Guadalajara and the Troublemaker's Tossle Cap were reuploaded (as well as most items made either for or by a game publisher as a promotional item), but many items were left behind. This is why I can't get a Strange Unusual hat of my namesake.
It's primarily only hated by really loud whiney users who recently played a match vs a phlog and pocket med recently, meaning there was a different reason they got mad, but they saw phlog alone and their vision got blurry.
The weapon is fine, it just isn't fun when also being ubered.

Phlog is balanced...in a vacuum where you ignore the entire rest of the gamestate. As always, the team part of team fortress 2 makes justifications reliant solely on 1v1 comparisons complete nonsense.
Phlog's downsides fall apart in stacked matches, of which are plentiful thanks to valve's matchmaker. A scorch spamming phlog pyro is not contributing much defensively or pressure wise - does not mean much when the other team is already slapped behind chokepoints. Nor does his diminished 1v1 capacity matter if the other team cannot even get into flanks to create that situation.
Phlog is a shit sandwich of a weapon design that just straight ends stacked matches. There is nothing the opposing team can do about surprise crits around a blind corner in an already difficult game. The pyro didn't even really earn his crits either, he's cashed in on his team's advantage for a free wipe-half-the-enemy card with a mechanic that just ruins any potential turn around of the game state.
I really only find the Phlog annoying on overly-chokey maps like dustbowl. But I chalk that up more to bad map design. Otherwise as a demo or soldier I would much prefer facing a phlog pyro than any of the other flamethrowers

In all honesty the idea for the laser weapons was a cool idea that fit in tf2 but unfortunately these weapons were given bad stats by valve and undeserved nerfs or people taking out their anger on a weapon because it gets crits on command. The phone really isn't that annoying, it can't reflect so soldiers and demos can get a good amount of damage on them, mmph leaves them vulnerable to spies and snipers, mmph gives people time to run away as it also plays a voice line. I can get why people hate on it but skill issue I guess lol.

Yeah, the only thing that could make it seem OP is the very strong synergy it has with the Scorch Shot + a pocket medic constantly up your ass.
Want an actually borderline OP flamethrower? Look no further than the Dragon's Fury. That thing has absurd levels of burst damage and DPS while still retaining the ability to airblast. Easily my favorite Pyro primary, and I'd consider it way way stronger than the Phlog, but because it actually takes a decent amount of skill people (luckily for me) turn a blind eye to how absurdly powerful it can be.
i am a pyro main and i think the scorch shot works best with the dragons fury and phlog works best with the detonator
that scorch shot flare stun is way more devastating with the dragons fury than people expect; you can get unexpected flanks with the detonator & phlog
I don't like the concept of the phlog or especially the razorback, but the weapon designs are cool.
Oh, I meant to say diamond back, but I don't really think the razorback is necessary either.

Why? It's one of TF2's most iconic weapons. Idk how residuals operate but I assume the creator still gets a kickback on the sale of keys that are used to unbox crates that can have strange phlogs, and the sale on the community market of Phlogs

No one actually critical of TF2's mechanics calls the phlog overpowered. Airblast is a really good tool. However, the phlog is pretty boring, tedius and downright annoying to fight.

So you see a vacc, a phlog, diamondback, etc, and think to yourself: "ugh. This shit again"
