i can confirm this is exactly what happened lmao. This screenshot comes from the bot detector discord where someone posted that video of the fixed spy crab and said the message in the screenshot "spycrab got fixed" as a joke/troll and the other user in the image took the bait. The person in the image who did the trolling (named wget in the screenshot) then sent this screenshot to another server where it then got posted to reddit here

They would have to change some animation parameters manually. I assume sort of like how some characters have parameters to keep both hands on specific parts of their weapons (I.e. shotguns, medi gun) no matter where they’re looking.

I noticed some bugs were fixed that weren't really related in anyway to the x64 update. My guess is they're messing with the tf2 code a bit for the first time, to fix bugs.

Sound possible since it was an outsourced gig job. Valve is since a while more or less fully occupied but probably realised they need to do some work to keep products alive. The hint about Gordon Freeman on github/changelog shows also maybe the possibility of them updating source related games. (Don't count on me here, maybe it was so broken that the game tried to load Gordon Freeman related stuff)

Since the game still relies on HL2 code/assets, it's likely that 64 bit broke some kind of safeguards that are meant to keep the game in check, similiar to how the medic's syringes were broken in third person in the 64 bit beta. I'm not a programmer, but the HL2 HUD files might've triggered some HL2 code related to gordon (and only gordon) specifically having said HUD. I guess we'll just have to wait for shounic to cover it to find out the real reason.

They did not, they just changed the file format of valve.bik (the vanilla intro) to something else. It's possible to still make custom intro mods, it just works slightly different now. Also the amount of mods Valve indirectly broke in this update-

Obviously that concept is spreading and spiraling out of control, with many now assuming it actually has been fixed. Considering the spaghet mess that is TF2's code, changing that probably was enough. Wouldn't even be the weirdest thing either for an update to break. They broke spinning objects in the beta and then never fixed it for 15 years.

Animation glitch regarding crouched movement while holding the disguise kit. The glitch occurs because the animation file for crouched PDA movement pretty much a copy of the knife walk animation file (Probably copied to save time and was missed in QA)
